ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Station layout diagrams

There's a longstanding consensus not to include station diagrams for simple stations such as East New York station. The most recent RFC is here; while there were a variety of opinions, the general consensus is clear. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 22:55, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please STOP inserting POV language

In the Christopher Macchio article, you keep adding the word "infamous", which in this context demonstrates a point of view (POV), violating the Wikipedia policy of having article written with a neutral point of view. Thank you. rogerd (talk) 20:17, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
It was a proofreading error on my end and I apologize. I did not (and would not) knowingly put in POV language (nor did I even know the word "infamous" was in there), since it goes against policy and defeats Wikipedia's purpose. When I made my edit, there was a conflicting edit when I tried submitting (I looked just now and saw that edit was yours, removing "infamous"; you published that edit as I was making mine). To get my edit to publish, I therefore had to copy the whole, revised article (with my revisions) and paste it into the refreshed edit page (where you removed the POV language – and thank you for doing that. I spotted & removed another one while making my original edit a couple minuted before you made yours, but must have missed "infamous" when looking) – and in the process I must not have realized the word was still in there when I hit publish.
Thank you – and once again: apologies for not catching that the word was still there while proofreading.
Cheers, Infrastorian (talk) 20:35, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Thanks. I have run into several of those situations myself. rogerd (talk) 20:44, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
