Please post new messages at the bottom of my talk page. Please use headlines when starting new talk topics. Thank you. SpellingOn my talk page, you posted a complaint regarding recent edits to articles and British/American spelling. Though you did not mention which articles, I edited two recently in that way. If you had checked the article subjects (Doomguy and Bill Cosby Is a Very Funny Fellow...Right!) you would have seen that they both American in origin. I am well aware that the regional variety of English used on a page should reflect the subject of that page.
In addition, the Doomguy page contained references to both "armor" and "armour"; I was not merely fixing incorrect spelling but also making the page consistent. Before you make patronizing remarks towards other users for making such changes, I suggest that you make sure they are warranted. Forteblast (talk) 21:42, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply] Excuse Me?I bought that image from a local shop and scanned it on to my computer. The description was included on a paper with the Photo when I bough but unfourtunatly it was lost. I don't think you should accuse me of falsehood and obviously it would be on google images since it is a well known among those who love antique items. The Creator of this Photo was indeed Will Davis and you can look him up if you'd like with all this I think you should promptly restore the image to the article and since your not an admin you shouldn't leave messages like that on my talk page. Thank You --I2E4S6 (talk) 23:52, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply] WhatAre you tracking me or something? FYI, I came across Image:Tom and Cherie cartoon.JPG which doesn't seem to be reduced... —Wknight94 (talk) 12:54, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply] Apology from FangusuIcarus, I'm very sorry. I did not know anything about the three-revert rule. I changed that image because it was saying "The Ultimate Doom", and the article I attempted to add it to was about Doom 1, not The Ultimate Doom. Fangusu (talk) 02:56, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply] I'm not an admin, but I agree with your suggestion that the size reduction killed the educational value of the image. One of the main innovations of the Clay Sanskrit Library is to print transliterated Sanskrit texts, so unless the letters are legible the image is useless. (The image comes from a sample made freely available by the publisher to promote its series; so while it is under copyright and needs the fair use notice, I don't think the case requires any fear of using too much.) I have reuploaded that deleted image i.e Image:Doom.jpg. Go see for yourself. Fangusu (talk) 02:59, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply] ResponseThat was not my favorite version of that article. I wanted that article to have BOTH the images, get it? P.S: I AM being co-operative. You once stated that some of my edits were useful, right, Icarus? P.S: Can you please tell me who this Fangusu is? TigerSharksFan (talk) 02:14, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Icarus3, you HAVE to stop. Fangusu may have been uncooperative, but now, Fangusu wants to become a better person, so I beg you, PLEASE stop undoing Fangusu's sockpuppet edits. Dr. Steel and cooler headsI was just informed that someone had posted "propaganda" in the Toy and Utopia entries, and was just on my way over here to remove it, when I noticed you had gotten to it already. Sorry about that... I realize that some of the young overzealous fans in Dr. Steel's fan club have rather "poisoned the well" over here with edits like those, and prejudiced most of the mods toward having any mention of him anywhere within your wiki, with their "Operation Wikipedia"; I understand there are a lot of fires to put out over here. I am not one of those sorts of people (i.e. young and overzealous). While I am a fan of his music and creative talent, I am not some kiddie or /b/tard. I am a 48 year old professional gentleman in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and as a professional musician, I am also a colleague and peer and merely wish to see that he gets the credit he is due, without being negatively slanted and prejudice by the more fanatical of his fan base (although that's where the word "fan" comes from, isn't it?). There has been a bit of a sea change among Dr. Steel's fan base in recent months. There are a lot of new, older, "cooler heads" like myself, who are attempting to reign in some of the /b/tard-style behavior of the past (for which I again personally apologize). Older professionals and business[wo]men, and musical peers, who just happen to enjoy his music and his humor. Please note that "Operation Wikipedia" has been suspended for quite some time now (since September of '08), and the fan base has been instructed for the most part to leave Wikipedia alone (so most postings on here have been from kiddies that don't pay attention to their elders, haha; and we do try to monitor that). In the mean time, the more adult, professional fan base hopes to foster better relations and cooperation in the future and hope to let cooler heads prevail. And hopefully get the well-researched and annotated version of the Dr. Steel entry (not the "viral marketing" version; as a fellow web content editor I don't blame you for striking that one) reinstated sometime in the future. Thanks for your understanding; hopefully we can work together better in the future. And feel free to share this personal note with the other moderators. Regards, --Jonnybgoode44 (talk) 21:10, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fouad AjamiHey Icarus3, you reverted my edit in regards the Edward Said quote, I brought it up on the discussion board. I'd like to get a better sense of your reasoning. If you think it is an important part of the article, could it be rephrased or contextualized better to keep it NPOV? Thanks! Steven CrowderSorry for referring to your legit format revision as "vandalism." Was confusing your edit with the persistent contributor (still at it) who seems intent on injecting opinion into the article. Keyofz (talk) 04:30, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply] ErrorWelcome to Wikipedia. Evidently there can be no reliable source for a lede which is not even generally true for some people in European/American societies, so it needs editors with sources to correct it. In the meanwhile, a qualified statement seems better than leaving a boldly misleading one? 1) Should editors lacking sources simply qualify/delete false statements, or flag the problem for attention, please (and how?)? 2) As well as the WikiP policy, please could you explain how to look it up, or else who I should ask (presumably not you)? I have been here , and from what I can tell, you find it quite distasteful to undo useful edits, don't you? And part of you thinks it would be nice if I had a second chance, right? So please unblock me, Icarus3. And I also forgot to tell you one thing about myself: I suffer from Asperger's syndrome. 59.183.55.104 (talk) 19:31, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Miss ChicagoHello Icarus3, I am working on the french version of Joan Miro's article and the sub-article "miss Chicago". I saw you had uploaded two nice photos of this statue, and I would know if I can use it. I saw the warning, and then I suppose we should decide country by country who can use it or not. Well... I really don't know how which law should be applied (Us? French? Special case?), and then if I can import it. If you have any information, thnak you for helping me, v_atekor (talk) 08:33, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
