Page move vandalismHello, Ian, User:Energy From Fusion just moved a long-standing article, Fusion power, from main space to a MediaWiki talk page. I've seen this in the past when students want to move their own draft to the main space under that title. I've posted a vandalism warning because this was not some obscure article but an important article that has existed on the project since 2002. I have move protected the article but, if you could, please have a word with the editor or instructor. The only reason I came across this move is that it left a cross-namespace redirect that showed up in a Quarry query. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:48, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Statistics dashboard late updateHi Ian! I have a question regarding the contribution statistics dashboard. I've been adding more than 8 references and words to the article, but it hasn't been updated since my first edit. Why does this happen? My professor won't be able to see the exact progress of my article if it isn't updated. Example I cited 12 references and only appears 8. Arianaguila15 (talk) 01:47, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
Publish Changes Button not WorkingHello! Every time that I have gone to use the publish changes button on the slender-billed vulture page after making my edits to the page, the top bar that shows the loading just loads forever and it never publishes. I can still edit the summary for some reason, but I can't exit out of it either to get back to the page. The only way out of it is to reload the page which deletes anything I added. What should I do? Possible Student COI issueIs [1] a COI policy violation by one of your students? They edited the article of a med school they appear to be enrolled in. McYeee (talk) 07:55, 13 November 2024 (UTC)

Doktor und Apotheker pageHi Ian, I'd like to add information to the page on Dittersdorf's opera Doktor und Apotheker. There's a substantial amount of info missing, and the areas I'd like to focus on are: Background, Synopsis, Musical Elements, and Recordings. I've gathered information and written it up - should I just start adding it to the page (with citations, of course)? This is my first time contributing any kind of edit to Wikipedia, so I hope I'm starting off on the right foot here! Thanks. Dr. N. Apotheker (talk) 02:08, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Center on Race, Poverty and the EnvironmentHi Ian. One of the students in Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/Arizona State University/Environment and Justice - fall 2024_(Fall) named EDENH10 has added Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment to the mainspace, but I'm not seeing anything that indicates the subject meets either WP:GNG or WP:NORG. Of course, I could be wrong in my assessment, but you might want to take a look at it just it case because right now I think it's likely going to end up draftified once WP:NPP gets to it. FWIW, I only came across this because the same student also uploaded File:Pesticides.jpg and File:CRPE LOGO.png which have issues needing to be resolved. The photo needs a source but it looks like the student got it from here, which is probably not the original source of the photo given that it can be found used several other places online. Regardless, there's no indication on that "source" that the photo has been released as licensed, and the site's Content License Summary page also doesn't indicate as much; in fact, it seems to indicate there are non-commercial restrictions placed on reuse and there. The logo file needs a non-free use rationale, and

It just says "bibliography" and "article". There is no "article sandbox". How can I fix this? Thank you
Javier ZamoraHi Guettarda (Ian (Wiki Ed)). You did some WP:RD1 cleanup on Javier Zamora on November 27, 2024. I believe in one of those edits a student in Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Rutgers University Newark/Reading Latine Literature (Fall 2024) named SynchroAnonymous might've added some content to Javier Zamora#Unaccompanied citing an online paraphrasing tool called Quillbot (Javier Zamora#cite_note-24). I can't see the diff to be sure it was the student and don't know why they did this if it was them, but I'm guessing that it might've had something to do with a discussion on the user's talk page started by their course's instructor Urmyotherme. The citation has zero value to Wikipedia so it should be removed, but I don't know about the content itself. My understanding of AI generated content and Wikipedia is primarily based on Wikipedia:Large language models; even though such content doesn't seem to be explicitly prohibited, there do seem to be a number of issues related to it that it's not quite recommended. Things might be different out in the real world and perhaps in this specific course, but I was wondering whether you could take a look at this again. Which hat (Wiki Ed advisor or Wikipedia administrator) you decide to wear is up to you, but the last sentence of that particular section of the article reads like it's either unsourced OR or an unattributed quoting of Zamora. It probably should go if it can't be sorted out. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:09, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Antonieta VillamilHi there, Ian. You seem to have inadvertently created Antonieta Villamil in mainspace by adding a forbidden template. I've tried to tidy it up a bit but you may be able to re-establish its history in order to credit the student who was behind it.--Ipigott (talk) 12:26, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Ian I need your help!Someone named Liz deleted my page and I need it for class ASAP. I don't know how to get it back and I'm freaking out. Andie Andiefarber (talk) 17:15, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

How to use the talk feature?Hello my name is Wala. I would like to use the Talk feature to ask other contributors about my assigned article, but I am unsure on how to do so. Can you please guide me in the right direction? Whhabash (talk) 18:35, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Cooper Union/Dance and Society (Fall 2024)Hi Ian. Since you're advising Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Cooper Union/Dance and Society (Fall 2024), perhaps you could take a look at Jazz Age Lawn Party. It was created by Tmcguire218, who's a student in that course, who might not be too familiar with how to add references to a Wikipedia article. They added lots of what look like sources to the end of the article, but they could also have been intended to be external links. For the time being, anyway, I reorganized them into a WP:GENREF section, but they probably still need some sorting out. The article also seems to have been created directly in the mainspace, and I'm not too sure it meets WP:NEVENT. I'm not really sure how "dance parties" like this are assessed when it comes to Wikipedia notability other than perhaps NEVENT and GNG. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:58, 17 December 2024 (UTC) Writing styleWould you please point Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/University of Central Florida College of Medicine/WikiProject Medicine Fall 2024 UCF COM - Block 6 (6) and other medicine-related classes at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Medicine-related articles#Writing for the wrong audience, specifically the bit about "You use a writing style appropriate for 12-year-olds, because the sixth grade reading level is recommended for patient information leaflets"? I'm hearing that the Hemingwayapp.com is prompting some bad writing style (e.g., unnaturally short sentences). WhatamIdoing (talk) 02:34, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
