Have you ever noticed that every twelve years since 1982, the Atlantic hurricane season has an El Niño? In 1982/early 1983 there was a strong El Niño; 1982 had six storms. In 1994-95, there was another El Niño, however in 1994 there were several memorable storms (Alberto and Gordon). In 2006, there was yet again an El Niño. But that time, there were nine named storms. Once again for 2018-19, the forecasters are calling for yet another El Niňo. We don't know the strength of the El Niňo just yet.
