CSD declinesI've noticed you've removed a few CSD tags that suggested deletion under the A7 criteria. I just wanted to give you a heads up on a couple of things. The A7 criteria does not correlate to notability, but is reflective of a lack of significance and/or importance specifically presented in the article. Remember that significance is separate and distinct from verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability. If you have questions, feel free to contact me. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 01:18, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Greetings, thanks, and a couple of questions.Hello Goodvac. Thank you for reaching out to me and being a source of contact. I came across a page that I did not create, but was of interest to me, and was being considered for deletion. The page was poorly written so I have been editing it. My first question: Is it possible for me to get a more advanced editor to look at the work I have done on a page in order to get feedback related to the quality of my work? My second question: How long does the debate process go on before a final decision is rendered in regard to the fate/outcome of a page? Thank you for your time and attention. I don't think much of the WikiLove thing, so doing it old-styleHi Goodvac, I've been meaning for a while to hand out a few more of these. Today I started counting up who has been doing the grunt work at the Resource Exchange over the last year. Then I got up to 100 or so requests and dropped that plan. :) GabrielF is a pretty major contributor there but you are running a pretty solid second place or so. A few months after I started editing I had this great idea, which it turns out had already just been started up. I've always felt that the Library is a critical resource in improving our content. Thanks much for doing all the work to help out there, and here is the 4th-ever award. :) Franamax (talk) 20:44, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I would ask you to fix the closing summary to reflect the actual consensus which was "withdrawn, with three votes for keep" and remove the editorialized soapboxing which does not reflect anything but the opinion of the nominator.LuciferWildCat (talk) 19:36, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Although things have now moved on and it is clear what the ship's track was for her last hour or so, yes, my information came partly from that publication, but also from the AIS data which showed her track (although the last AIS info I saw had her on a heading of (from memory) 010 degrees and a speed of just over a knot.) Also a look at the available charts of the area clearly shows the reef we are talking about. Further, the pictures (stills & video) showed her where she currently is and a lot of confusion may have occurred because of her orientation, as well as the gash on her port quarter. The VDR will confirm this, but I expect that she was turning to starboard (away from the shore) at the time of impact. Anyway, greetings to you. Best wishes, --Rich0908 (talk) 18:05, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

RosenbergThanks for turning up those sources about Elias Abraham Rosenberg on the Resource exchange, I'm impressed with your work! Mark Arsten (talk) 16:27, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
How the Torah Scroll got to Honolulu and how it came into the possession of King David Kalakaua is still a mystery. Hawaiian oldtimers give three different explanations. The most romantic version claims that the Torah belonged to a certain Elijah Abraham Rosenberg, who landed in Honolulu in 1887 from a whaling ship. "Rosey," as he was called, said he was a rabbi but this is doubtful. He was, however, known to be a man of some Jewish scholarship whose skill in magic and a bent for telling tall stories endeared him to King Kalakaua. "Rosey" seems to have won the monarch's affection by reading his horoscope and amusing him with Bible tales and aphorisms. Although Rosenberg is supposed to have arrived aboard a whaling vessel, tradition has it that among his belongings was a Torah Scroll, the significance of which he is said to have explained to Kalakaua. Before vanishing about 1889 as suddenly as he had come, Rosenberg presented the Torah Scroll to the King, and, so the story goes, even taught him some Hebrew and the rudiments of Judaism. Few put much stock in the "Rosey" story. Most authorities are inclined to accept another version of the origin of the Torah Scroll which involves a certain Rabbi Kline from the United States who stopped in Hawaii en route ...
Today there are some 1,000 Jews in Hawaii, few of whom ever heard of the royal Torah Scroll. Yet in the worship services in Temple Emanu-El the Torah pointer, which Princess Li- liuokalani could not explain, is still in use. In 1959 a member of the Temple presented the pointer to the Temple, explaining it had been given to her by one of the surviving royal princesses. It is a sterling silver filagree, with the design of an arm in ancient priestly garb. A jeweler estimated the intrinsic value of the pointer, including a few cheap stones set in the middle set in the middle, as worth less than $100, but historically it is of great value because it is inscribed in Hebrew with the name of Elijah Abraham Rosenberg, the mysterious "Rosey," and states plainly that "this is the pointer contributed by Elijah Abraham Rosenberg in the year 5645" (Hebrew year for 1885).
In January, 1887, a Jew by the name of Elias Abraham Rosenberg, a self-styled rabbi, arrived in Honolulu and ingratiated himself with King David Kalakaua by his chanting and so-called occult powers. He soon became the king's soothsayer and astrologer and acquired such power over the monarch that the Hawaiian press bitterly attacked him and denounced him as a "Holy Moses." After Rosenberg had taught the king some Hebrew, he persuaded the king to appoint him appraiser of customs. The royal magician was given quarters in the Iolani Palace in Honolulu where he practiced magic and chanted Bible stories in Hebrew. Soon after Rosenberg won the King's favor, a revolution limited much of Kalakaua's power and marked the swift end of Rosenberg's career. Before Rosenberg sailed back to San Francisco in June, 1887, he received from the King an inscribed silver cup, a gold medal, and $260. The Torah Rosenberg had brought with him was left with the King, together with a handsome silver Torah pointer (yad). It has been suggested that the two Judaica articles were left behind as security for the $260, which may have been a loan to enable Rosenberg to leave the islands quickly.

Sprinkles.Goodvac, you're killing me. Why the double-standard? Whoever created the Sprinkles Wiki entry makes claims only substantiated by erroneous media reports in local daily papers, not by top-notch culinary researchers or experts. The articles sited are NOT written about thorough investigation of which bakeries are cupcake-only. The mentions, if/where they exist are asides. However, that Sprinkles is cupcakes-only is more than implied, articles or not. Cupcake Royale exists down the street from me. Yes, they will make you a beverage out of coffee beans. Otherwise, all they do is CUPCAKES. That's it. And, that's why people come to them. It's very well known, from NPR to the NY Times. I just can't find a sentence for the dense amongst us that say "Cupcake Royale is a cupcake only bakery. Want a photo? How else would you like this substantiated? Maybe I can grab a crappy blogger's quote that says Cupcake Royale is indeed Cupcakes Only. Maybe one can be made up, posted and then referenced. See what I'm saying? Let's be smarter. Until someone contests Cupcake Royale's existence as a cupcakes-only bakery, I think it absurd that we question it as being so when there's zero hard evidence that Sprinkles had no predecessor. In fact, there's plenty of evidence to the contrary but Sprinkles gains fame, notoriety and economic benefit from claiming they're the first. C'mon! So, want a PICTURE of their bakery/bakeries? A quote from the owner???? Thanks.Xtiang (talk) 20:44, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve. At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange). Riley Schillaci AfD & barnstarHi mate, thought I'd post something after the resolution of the Riley Schillaci AfD discussion. So I thought it was a box for my user name. It didn't occur to me to type my new email address over top of it, until I read your recommendation that I try this.
