EditI didn't intentionally remove your statement on Suicide Silence for them re-releasing their EP on In at the Deep End, or Third Degree or whatever it was. An edit conflict came about and I copy-pasted my work along with fixing others things within the change that you made and that change from "In at the Deep End" to "Third Degree" was something I missed so... sorry. Also, if you could - explain this here why you made that change? Is IATDE a sub-company of Third Degree? • GunMetal Angel 21:26, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Just for a personal question - have you ever heard of them before? • GunMetal Angel 02:25, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Flag iconsRegarding your edits on the Planet X album pages, the reason I used flag icons was because Megadeth's upcoming release, Endgame, appears to be using them to good effect. I hadn't really thought about it before until I read that article, but it seemed like a neat idea to use them for Planet X's album pages because of how many release locations there were. Is it specifically stated anywhere within WP:flags that flag icons are not to be used in album infoboxes? If this is indeed the case, then that's fine. I just felt like getting some clarification on this. Mac dreamstate (talk) 04:47, 3 August 2009 (UTC) Gojira: or more specifically, Joe DuplantierThe reason I supplied those links, although they were just redirects, was because I have plans on re-making the Joe Duplantier wikipedia article. I believe that he is notable enough for his own article, considering that he is part of two bands with their own articles, Gojira and Cavalera Conspiracy. Last time I checked, being part of two notable bands with wikipedia articles is enough for a person to have their own article. Also, like I usually do, I will supply multiple reliable sources to back the information up (I thought I'd mention that, considering the discussion that went on that determined to redirect the page via reasoning of lack of sources). Do you agree with me creating this page? However, I will acknowledge that I did set up those links prematurely, and it was worth it for you to revert the links I made. Myspace as a sourceWhy isn't myspace a reasonable source if it's a press release from the band? Blabbermouth just used the press release from the band.. which was posted..... on myspace. I don't understand the rationale here, but it seems totally unnecessary. 62.182.5.46 (talk) 21:22, 10 August 2009 (UTC) Your comment to my inevitable end articleAs you said in your previous message to me about Inevitable End you express the idea that a subject would become notable when third party sources back up the information that is presented in the article. I decided to check out your link about third party sources and it says "Reliable sources are credible published materials with a reliable publication process; their authors are generally regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand. How reliable a source is depends on context. As a rule of thumb, the more people engaged in checking facts, analyzing legal issues, and scrutinizing the writing, the more reliable the publication." So my question to you is, what constituents a reliable third party source in metal. The majority of metal bands never chart on billboard but that doesn't mean thousands of people don't enjoy that band so even though thousands of people like something its not considered notable? People aren't going out and writing scholarly journals about metal bands and their certainly isn't televised news coverage about 99.9% of metal, Pig Destroyer was just featured in the Sunday Washington Post, but if we go by that logic Pig Destroyer would be the only band in metal. Metal is loved around the world by tons of people so how do I find third party sources on a majority of bands who get most of their coverage and fan base off of websites such as lambgoat.com smnnews.com blabbermouth.net and myspace...if these aren't the credible third party sources for metal then what is. Media like magazines could be considered more reliable print but most of the time articles are interviews with members of the band or opinion posts which your link to the third party sources page strictly forbids. I am at a loss because there is more to metal then Metallica, Slayer, Tool and Disturbed and I don't know how to justify it properly on wikipedia. I am sorry if I sound angry and upset but I have had multiple pages deleted on me before and I don't understand how I can justify notability...I am doing everything short of having all those thousands of fans sign a petition and then scan the petition right onto the wikipedia page. Please Help! T0778kj (talk) 03:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC) Born of OsirisI noticed you changed the genre information on Born of Osiris back to Metalcore, on the grounds my source was unreliable. However, I don't whether you are familiar with their music or not, but Metalcore is definetly not their sole genre. The source already provided is, in my opinion, innacurate. Does this mean Wikipedia has to also be innaccurate? I'm not an expert with what are considered reliable/non reliable sources on this En Wiki so if you could have a look for a suitable one, that would be great. Cheers, The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 22:16, 12 August 2009 (UTC) I found a source on which as an album review on Blabbermouth that refers to them as Deathcore. [1] Is this suitable? The Flying Spaghetti Monster! 22:29, 12 August 2009 (UTC) Yes sure, I know they are more metalcore than a band like Suicide Silence say. I just wanted to make sure people weren't confused as they are a bit heavier than something like Killswitch Engage or Bullet For My Valentine, which is the kind of thing I think when someone says Metalcore. More assistanceBored? Well I may need some extra hands with Parkway Drive and its subpages (albums and other extents). Take a look. • GunMetal Angel 17:43, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Out --> outHey.... even though it looks kinda odd (especially for "In and out of Love"), as far as I can see, the "out" should be lowercase. In WP:SONGS, the capitalization section refers to WP:ALBUMCAPS, so I would just reference that: In titles of songs, albums, and band names in the English language, the project standard is to capitalize:
"so Michael Akerfeldt contributed to a few songs, how does that make them associated? There needs to be at least two related members.". Then why is Katatonia or Bloodbath listed as "associated"? Peter Tagtgren put in MUCH less contribution than Akerfeldt, and Jonas Renkse is the only member of Katatonia who had anything to do with EoS. Explain that. Also, Akerfeldt contributed to the albums Crimson and Infernal - that's a little more than "a few songs". --Danteferno (talk) 01:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC) Formatting, thank you! Thanks for catching me on a couple of pages with my formatting. I followed your WP:MUSTARD, found the discography formatting standard (which you provided anyway). I'm all for consistency, just didn't realize the standard'd already been set! I'll correct other pages as well. : ) Keraunoscopia (talk) 07:40, 3 October 2009 (UTC) Galaxy (band)How do you like this edit Galaxy (disambiguation)?
Gosh, I gotta get more sources and maybe make a decent article. I heard of this band only last week and I love that song.
