My wife gave me a copy of the Alinder biography for my birthday, which I've just finished reading. New old photo

Since you know more about the photographer, please feel free to swap out the photo, etc. I will delete the current log raft photo as it will be an orphaned fair use image (unless there is somewhere else it could be used?). I am glad you wrote the caption - I would not have known the image was taken from the Jay Street Bridge or that it was the left (north) bank shown. There is a red link to Jay Street Bridge in List of crossings of the Susquehanna River - do you think it worth a stub which the historic photo could then be used to illustrate? Re: Alt text

I know I have to add alt text to a bunch of FAs, but it is a real chore for me. I have seen a setup with a sheet of nonreflective glass to hold the page flat for photographing images in books. I plan to work on Quehanna Wild Area but have no images of it (yet). Also think Ganoga Lake can at least be a GA. I am working my way through reviewing Aliso Creek at FAC, nice to see it so much improved. Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 03:28, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

I have contacted alot of Wikipedia, Peer review volunteers but no body is responding, currently i have contacted more volunteers and i am waiting for their reply.I have improved the prose of this article to much extent, but for finalization i needs a confirmation and further improvement, please help me out, i have full filled all the requirements for the featured list status, but needs to improve prose, i will be thankful to you, if you helped me improved the prose.

Oregon COTW and randomness

Greetings fellow WikiProject Oregon member, it is once again time for the Collaboration of the Week (yes, I know they are not actually every week anymore). Thank you to those who helped out the last few weeks improving Terrell Brandon, Just Out, 75th Oregon Legislative Assembly, and all the unreferenced BLPs. This week we have by request Oregon Coast Aquarium and Arvydas Sabonis (maybe the Blazers can sign him as I think he's healthy). Both need more sourcing. Sorry, as noted at the top of this page, I'm in over my head already. If you submit the article to WP:PR and no one else reviews it until it appears in the backlog, I'll be glad to review it. I often doing minor copyediting during my reviews, but I rarely do top-to-bottom copyedits because they are so time-consuming. Someone in the copyediting list at WP:PRV might be willing to help. Hepatica photo

The photo you have labeled as Hepatica nobilis isn't Hepatica. It is a nice photo though. It appears to be a species of wintergreen (Gaultheria), which is as the name implies, green in winter. Hepatica will have died back at this time of year (and when growing appears quite different from wintergreen). If you revisit Berry Botanic Garden, check the area for other labels for the plant you photographed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.104.39.2 (talk) 22:05, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I got the plant name from a label near the plant, but it's possible that the label was referring to a different plant within inches of this one. If you can figure out for sure what it really is, please correct the caption. If that's not possible, I might resort to the workaround of removing the name from the caption. Oh, I see that you've already removed the image from the article. That eliminates the problem for this particular article, but the image is still on the Commons. I'd like to thank you for the peer review you did on South Jordan, Utah. It was very, very informative. One of these days I'll learn how to write... The main reason I'm in physics and computers.

I'm in the process of correcting the page with your suggestions, but I'm not sure about the Education and Transportation sections needing better sourcing. Sorry, I was really unclear on what I was attempting saying.

I'm confused. Do I need to add a citation when the wikilink contains the information?

For example, "UTA's FrontRunner commuter rail system is set to be completed in 2012. There will be a station at South Jordan's eastern edge at 10200 South. When completed, Frontrunner will extended north to Ogden and south to Provo." The wikilink to 'Frontrunner' contains the information quoted.Bgwhite (talk) 03:18, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

PR request

Hi! Some time ago you did a most helpful PR for me on John Douglas (architect), and it led to the article's acceptance as a FA. Since then, with its associated four FLs, it has been accepted as the lead article in a FT (and this was the first FT in the Arts category!). Now I am working towards submitting Norton Priory as a FAC. Since this was accepted as a GA, I have expanded it with the findings of the excavations. Thanks for your most helpful review and positive suggestions. It always surprises me (and I suppose it shouldn't) that however many times you go through an article, and others look at it, there are always some errors everyone's missed. I'm a bit over-excited at the moment because I am the main editor of Today's Featured Article on the main page (John Douglas (architect)) and for some hours earlier (simultaneously) the top DYK (with image) (Sir Thomas Grosvenor, 3rd Baronet) was an article I had created and nominated. (Is this the peak of my Wikilife?) When I calm down a bit, I'll deal with the improvements to Norton Priory.

Also thanks for your invitation to carry out PRs myself. I suppose it's some sort of personality defect, but I feel most uncomfortable about doing this sort of thing. I know that it's the responsible thing to do, but having had a working life of duty and responsibility, I'm trying to enjoy my retirement; it's selfish I suppose, but I want to enjoy what I do on WP rather than get screwed up about things. Hi Finetooth, I've been working out for the article DRMC as per your peer review. You have said that, ""freedom fighter" is one of those phrases probably best avoided because it expresses a point of view. Often one side in a conflict will use "freedom fighter" to describe a person it approves of, while the other side will use "thug" or something similar to describe the same person. The encyclopedia doesn't take sides." I understand that there should be no information that denies WP:NPOV. But the person (Sheikh Jamal) is mostly noted in Bangladesh as a freedom fighter, so what should I say to describe his notability? He is the son of founding leader of Bangladesh, but perhaps that can't be a qualification. Could you please help me in regard? -- Tanweer (Contribs|talk) 08:27, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Ganoga Lake

Thanks, I actually wrote Ganoga Lake back in February and nominated it at GAN on Feb. 23. I knew I was going to be pushing on Quehanna Wild Area and FAC rules have changed so you can only have one nom there at a time. Anyway, I didn't want to have something in the way of Quehanna (since the original goal was to get it to FA in time for April Fools). The GA reviewer found no major problems with Ganoga Lake in early April, and Dincher had already reviewed it with mostly nitpicks too. I looked at it closely again for the firt time in over a month, made some tweaks and sent it to PR. There Jackyd101 also found no major issues, so I went ahead and sent it to FAC where it had a quick and uneventful stay. I like Ricketts stuff - I am working on Clemuel Ricketts Mansion now (and Dincher and I are working on the main park article in a sandbox) ;-) Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 11:55, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Iravan HELP

It's a long time since I last met you at Ganesha and then Vithoba (both are FAs today). The article Iravan (about another Hindu god) is at FAC (Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Iravan/archive1) with Supports, but only in the words of a reviewer (with a Tentative Support) the prose needs a run-through. Working on a GA review

Hi there Finetooth. I'm working on a page being reviewed for GA status, Maritime Fur Trade. If you had the time I wondered if you might be interested in taking a look. Your thoughts about how to improve articles are usually helpful. It's just a GA review though and I know you are more FA quality ;-) (or PA?) Actually I have a specific question you might have come across before. One should not reuse names for sections and subsections within an article, right? But what to do if the structure is something like: Section 1, subsection topic-A, topic-B, topic-C; Section 2, subsection topic-A, B, C? Does that make sense? Sections in which the same set of topics are covered. It would be logical to use the same subsection names, but for wikilinking reasons that option is out. So... ? Thank you for the kind words. As you are the "godfather" of rivers, once you started helping me with your review, I knew it would receive the attention the article it needed to get to FA. I'm still working on your suggestions from Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Jordan River (Utah)/archive1. I set the permissions so you can see the map. I added a different map in the watershed section that shows the elevation figuring the "new" map being created would go into the infobox.

Out of your suggestions, I still have left geology, map and discharge/acre-feet. I've been researching geology yesterday and today.... wish I still worked in the same building as the Department of Geology on campus. I should have everything done today. Image stretching

The reason I made the pixel 800 was because I found that the screen stretched too much and I have also seen people complaining about "Why can't you guys fit everything in the same screen?" Hence I thought that 800px wouldnot detrimine the image quality and also keep the image within the screen resolution. Hey Finetooth, I have *finally* completed addressing all the issues you brought up during the PR of International co-productions of Sesame Street.
