Lists importanceYou're right, there is a bit of an inconsistency on how many projects deal with lists' importance. Lists aren't in and of themselves necessarily (or solely) informational (like an article), however they do have a ranking in and of themselves, as you mentioned. The problem with tagging them is that for a project like films, lists don't appear on the quality scales of the articles, as the ratings in films are for specific movies themselves. However, for the WikiProject Harry Potter, this list is "FA" / Mid importance because of the nature of the list in relation to the project itself. So, it's possible for various projects to view the same article/list/category/etc. in quite different lights. Another example is countries - sometimes a film will have high importance in the film world, but have little importance in the country itself, thus be "High" or "Top" in film, and be "Low" in the country. You're right in that the topic of lists in ranking and importance needs to be addressed, however, it appears that there's rarely any consternation between projects about the various modes of tagging. It's tagged as, appropriately, under the HP project, but I figured there must be something for fandom, and I think human interaction is the best. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 05:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Evanna as Luna.jpgThanks for uploading Image:Evanna as Luna.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Rianaऋ 03:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC) WiktionaryHi. Thanks. Here is the sentence: John Smith received a posthumous award. (1) Can I link that to the dictionary definition of "posthumous" from Wiktionary? And (2) what is the exact format I would need to type? Thanks. (JosephASpadaro 20:39, 6 May 2007 (UTC))

I've gone ahead and restored and moved it. Krimpet (talk) 18:09, 16 May 2007 (UTC) Signpost updated for May 21st, 2007.

I've been working on this one recently hoping to make it a featured list, but I'm not sure if I'm going in the right direction. I may have messed up something. I see you have promoted a few lists before to featured status, so you must be an old hand :) Could you please, when you have a minute, take a look at the list and tell me what should be improved? I'd really appreciate your remark. And no worries if you are busy, there's no rush, of course. Thank you for your time. ~ Best regards, PeaceNT 20:12, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I need some backupIt looks like I'm about to start an edit war and I really don't want to, so I'm hoping I can resolve this with majority opinion. There's a right-wing libertarian dude who's been editing Wiki articles to post opinions about JK Rowling's supposed socialist messages. He added a massive subsection to the Controversy over Harry Potter page on this topic, which I ultimately deleted on the (in my opinion correct) grounds that it constituted criticism, not controversy. A controversy is an argument or dispute, and there is no evidence of controversy in that section whatsoever. I made that point and merged the section with the Harry Potter#Criticism and praise section. Now he's back and he's reinserted his section, but he seems to have missed the original point. Before things get rough I would like to ensure that this goes over as smoothly as possible. Thanks. Serendipodous 16:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Harry Potter and SocialismNot to complain, but the Political Conservatives did change tactics and start to align with the Christian opposition to keep a brouhaha going. See my comments in the talk section of Controversy over Harry Potter. It was their intent to cause controversy, they maintained controversy by stoking the fires of the Christian fanatics, wheres the harm in keeping the information where it can be found. Also, Socialism is a pretty controversial philosophy for a Billioniare to have (not to be critical of her personal beliefs). Obviously posting this topic has created a controversy. And, for the record, I'm neither right-wing or libertarian. Libertycookies 00:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC) Redirect of Edward RandellHello, this is a message from an automated bot.
