Abravanel

For the record, Abravanel is a {{surname}} page, not a disambiguation page. Surname pages often include significant information about the origins of a name, and sometimes about the most prominent historical bearers of the name -- not just a list of disambiguation links. In the case of Abravanel the content on en-wiki is indeed very comparable to the interwiki'd pages on fr-wiki and he-wiki. Re: MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage -- the issue here seems to be that on en-wiki {{surname}} is listed as marking a set index article, rather than a pure disambiguation page. Set index articles may interwiki to either article content pages or disambig pages on other language wikis.

This is why the Abravanel interwikis were entirely appropriate, and should not have been removed. Jheald (talk) 15:41, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
