Hmm, it has been hard finding an official list that is easy to copy. The Find a Council page (www.girlscouts.org/en/about-girl-scouts/join/council-finder.html) has a list under a drop down menu but that list is pulled from a script which is listed at www.girlscouts.org/councilfinder/ajax_results.asp?short=yes I did some neatening and have (short names):

Loss of Explorer Posts

I know you put down citation needed at the end of the article. I'm just speaking from personal experience with the LAPD posts. I volunteer with an explorer competition in California. We had the LAPD cadets come to our comp. for several years. In 2012 or 13 they notified us they were not coming back unless we got different insurance. The LAPD told us the LAFD were in the Caryeastwood (talk) 07:20, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately personal experience alone can't be used as a reference. It can be used as a pointer that proper references do exist and should be hunted down. Note that insurance might have been an issue if the BSA insurance did not cover non-BSA participants or was considered insufficient; it need not have had to do with BSA policies on gays and god. Fingering characerization

That appears to be an oversight, I figured it was common sense that people knew that sexual acts were sexual assault if not consented to.

Neither vandalism nor a test edit.

I monitor links to a number of websites which are, by robust consensus, entirely inappropriate as sources. That job is made harder when sandboxes and user pages include links. Making the link list shorter saves time when looking for new citations to inappropriate sites that then need to be removed. These links ar eof no benefit in sandboxes and drafts because if those pages ever became articles, the links would have to come out. Guy (Help!) 06:48, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@JzG: True but it would help to have a more expansive explanation in the edit comment. "Predatory" for someone encountering it for the first time is not very informative and my understanding is that editing someone else's sandbox without invitation is not polite; perhaps "source marked as from a predatory journal, see x" would be more helpful. Note the surrounding text had already mentioned it and the others as possibly unreliable (this sandbox is more a collection of notes from a while back that went no where due to no reliable sources, I now marked for my own record that this particular one is unreliable). --Erp (talk) 14:50, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, it asks that "religion = none" be allowed in the infobox.

The first RfC that this new RfC is trying to overturn is:

The result of that RfC was "unambiguously in favour of omitting the parameter altogether for 'none' " and despite the RfC title, additionally found that "There's no obvious reason why this would not apply to historical or fictional characters, institutions etc.", and that nonreligions listed in the religion entry should be removed when found "in any article".

True but he does sometimes seem to have some good points; he does seem to have been correct in some of the Masinissa entry. It takes time to learn to evaluate one's own biases (and we all have biases) and also to properly document. Given that the ancient kingdom of Numidia corresponded somewhat to modern coastal Algeria (though it also covered part of modern Tunisia) and that Masinissa united and then ruled Numidia for some 54 years, it is not a surprise that he seemingly plays a large part in the Algerian national mythos (think George Washington in the US mythos). Ideally articles about Algeria need a critical mass of editors that can read French and/or Arabic (due to modern Algerian history much of the research is likely to be in one or the other of those languages). Unfortunately also the French wikipedia version of the article is also lacking citations. On couscous it looks like there is an edit war going on in the French version of the article also on the same issue. I can't read Arabic so I'm not sure what is going on in that version of the article (though less editing)--Erp (talk) 01:01, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a call for presentations by EOD, Sunday, October 15, for WikiConference North America (Nov 11-13), held jointly with OpenStreetMap US's Mapping USA. We encourage you to please submit your Wikipedia and Wikimedia proposals at Wikiconference:2022/Submissions or OpenStreetMap US proposals at Call for Proposals: WikiConference North America + Mapping USA. We are sending this mass message to you because we deduced that you may be in North America and interested in maps in Wikimedia or Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap, or OpenHistoricalMaps. We are looking for lightning talks in particular on Friday, Nov 11. Some suggestions:

AEO is conflating ARDA with the World Christian Database at Gordon Theological Seminary when it has NOTHING to do with it.The opinions about the World Christian Database affiliated with Gordon Theological Seminary I can agree with but the World Religion Database is affiliated with Boston University and published by Brill which is a top reliable source NOT the seminary. The bottom line is that ARDA is completely SEPARATE from both of them because ARDA is part of Penn State University as noted here https://thearda.com/about/faqs#q1.  WikiConference North America 2022 will be virtual, November 11-13. We will hold it jointly with OpenStreetMap US's Mapping USA. Our theme this year is open knowledge allies.

Hello. If you actually read my edit and verified the source, you would have seen that it was not a joke edit. Chuck Tingle was actually sainted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. I would also note that the tumblr reference is self-published material and does not count as a reliable source for Wikipedia so could have been reverted on that grounds. I would suggest adding Chuck Tingle with a reliable reference (e.g., announcement by the Sisters) and also mentioning in the edit summary what you are doing. Add it also to his wikipedia entry.
