MinutesHey, do you think you could put them at the end of the page instead of the top? That way, everything's in chronological order. Thanks for writing it up! enochlau (talk) 12:49, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Lillian TooHi Enochlau. I've just written another article, Lillian Too. Any comments? Also, she has written over 80 books! If I put them all in, the page will be too long. Should I just leave it as it is? (It's also a lot of work to find all these books). What do you think? S Masters 08:01, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip! I've added this in. S Masters 09:30, 8 February 2006 (UTC) Using WikiCommonsI just uploaded an image to Commons:Image:Council Chambers, Bankstown.jpg. Must I also upload it to Wikipedia in order to use it from there? Thanks. Newhoggy | Talk 11:39, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
culling of nsbh old boys list"North Sydney Boys High School - cull list" I think there is some healthy overlap here. What are you ideas? Grumpyyoungman01 05:37, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Hong Kong picsHey, just about Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Busy Street, are you from/staying in Hong Kong, or just there on holidays? If so, I would like to invite you to participate in the WP:HKWNB. Btw, was that really taken in Mong Kok (because it was just my guess), or did you just follow my guess? :) Cheers. enochlau (talk) 08:29, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Royal AssentI have done a bit of a Google search, and I can't find any definitive source as to whether the definite article should be used. However, I think I have noticed a pattern, where "Royal Assent" is used when generally referring to the concept and "the Royal Assent" when specific pieces of legislation are concerned. *facepalm*Thank you for reminding me. Circeus 00:12, 13 February 2006 (UTC) why not delete userpage 2? no one uses it. I was the only one who used it before. I'm learning not to inter mingle zzl'z. Unsophisticated Discourse Style Mc there was a universal "feeling" 00:47, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
WMTU radio stationI was wondering why the WMTU page was deleted. It was still a work in progress, and is listed on the "radio stations in Michigan" page. I couldn't finish it at the time, because I had to do a radio show of my own. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sps 2002 (talk • contribs)
I am wondering about the quick deletion of Scott Salem on 20 January 2006, which was deleted within 2 hours of it being nominated for speedy deletion. See User talk:Gerkinstock#Non_notable_article?. Scott Salem, aka "Scott the Engineer", is the engineer for the Howard Stern radio show and has his own IMDB page, which should at least make a prima facie case for notability. Even if determined to be non-notable under Wikipedia criteria, the page's content may be worthy of being included in the Howard Stern article. DHowell 02:07, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
The sentence says *since* 1970s. Since the 1970's, the majority of Chinese immigrants in Australia today are born in mainland China (check stats at bottom of page). --Sumple (Talk) 04:41, 14 February 2006 (UTC) (elaborate) I meant, since the 1970's, the majority of Chinese immigrants to Australia were from mainland China, as reflected in the statistics today. Mainland immigration started in a large scale in the mid 1980's, esp after 1989. Before then, Vietnam was another large source of Chinese immigrants. --Sumple (Talk) 04:45, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Image:Australian aboriginal flag.png speedy deletionHi, I see you speedy deleted this image. User:AYArktos specifically made mention on the image Talk page, that the discussion there was important and should be preserved in some form. The speedy deletion tag specifically says If you disagree with its speedy deletion, please explain why on its talk page or at Wikipedia:Speedy deletions. To me, this implies that the deleting admin will at least check that there has been no opposing discussion on either of those pages. Anyway, I moved the page, which seemed to work, but I'm sure you understand that it is frustrating when some process is followed and some is not. If there had been a valid reason not to delete the image, it would be particularly annoying as deleted images can't be undeleted (as I'm sure you're aware). So... no harm, no foul. Cheers, pfctdayelise 06:52, 14 February 2006 (UTC) Cape FynbosGood move with the proposed deletion. I tried to speedy delete, as it seemed clear that it wasn't WP material, but it didn't fit the CSD.Bjones 14:39, 14 February 2006 (UTC) ThanksThanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, which passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise (I blocked a vandal last night despite having said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

I tend not to delete things from my user talk page. It will get archived in due course, but I've removed what you wrote above for your privacy. Cheers. enochlau (talk) 07:53, 15 February 2006 (UTC) I saw no + at the top of this page. Sorry. Just adding a new section. Instead. Your comment in the history states that we generally dont delete schools, which is mostly correct, however the history for Goldenview Middle School seems to imply that non-notable schools should not be suffered any more than a non-notable band. I can't imagine that Wikipedia should become a repository for every kindergarten and nursery school from every village, town, and city on the planet. I'm willing to accept this, but the page should be cleaned-up and it is only lined to from the village page so people won't likely stumble across it. --Walter Görlitz 22:38, 15 February 2006 (UTC) NSBH alumni listHere is the email I sent them Wednesday night 15 Feb. No reply yet. They may just ignore me, which is understandable. A school roll isn't neccesary, just another source to cross check. Maybe Australian Dictionary of Biography, but this probably leads in circles. "Hi there, I have been editing the list of notable Old Boys on the Wikipedia article for NSBHS by checking the names of people already listed in the article as alumni against Who's Who in Australia. But for extra accuracy it would be good to cross check this with an official list from the school. Could someone please send me a list of the names of Alumni the school considers "notable", or if you don't do this a list of the names of all former students? Students leaving as recently as 10 years ago would not be required if that makes it easier. And occupation of alumni isn't essential if that would make it easier as well. I realise however that my request may be refused for privacy reasons. In this situation is there someone who could offer me advice on another source of information to cross check against Who's Who in Australia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sydney_Boys_High_School

Hi Enoch, thanks for your support in my RFA, which succeeded. If I can ever improve or help in any way, please let me know! :) —Quarl (talk) 2006-02-16 11:47Z
Offline articleI was wondering if you were sometime interested in writing an article for Honi Soit on Wikipedia: its merits as a source; controversy; editing; the community... That sort of thing. I think it'd be an interesting addition... jnothman talk 01:28, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I use that excuse too. But it is of course because you only got into the shower at 2... No, I'm not really editing Wikipedia: indeed, I haven't checked my watchlist since Friday! It's been very busy for me lately, so I've been doing some of those things that have been keeping me busy. And the time has come to take my leave and hit the hay. Nite! jnothman talk 15:59, 19 February 2006 (UTC) zzzzz!I would have like to been warned before my page about myself was blown up. I posted a edit in the person that blew it up so they could perhaps "see" how it feels to have something messed with without being at least warned. then i WAS warned that it was bad. I guess I neaded to read all the stuff about how to put stuff up ehh... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ultradoug (talk • contribs) .

Re: UserboxesThanks, hun. I've voted on some of those and I look forward to these issues being resolved. JSIN 12:23, 18 February 2006 (UTC) Asking for adviceDear Enochlau, maybe you are remembering our talk about the page deletion Talk:Phaistos Disc/Archive2 at User talk:CambridgeBayWeather. Please have a look at the now semiprotected page Phaistos Disc and Talk:Phaistos Disc. Without talking I'm unable to express my point of view. But if I talk the whole (in my eyes low level) dispute with 80.90.xx.xx gets archived. Did you have any suggestions? Kadmos 23:45, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Please have a last look. Now we have a protected page Phaistos Disc. My request to semi-protect Phaistos Disc and Talk:Phaistos Disc was changed to protect only the article-page :-( The talkpage reminds to a thread on usenet, mostly talking about the views of 80.90.xx.xx with 4 users beside 80.90.xx.xx involved. For me this is talkpagespamming. The problem now is not anymore that the dispute gets archived. The problem is the amount of time 80.90.xx.xx costs us. Did you have any suggestions? BoolitsSir, I thought the entire purpose of Wiki was to enlighten and inform ,,and yet you dismiss without cause my submission as "nonsense". If the internet was governed with such a broad swipe as to what one person thought was "nonsense" and what one thought was "misleading" and more provoking discussions never got a chance to get started where would Wiki be today? I suppose the current administration in China would be willing to hire your services for the thought police they have watching over their www use of the common citizens. My submission was serious to me and a few million others around the world that cast their own projectiles, since the first days of black powder guns in the chinese canton's,to the present movie portrayal of mel gibson melting down his dead son's lead soldiers for his own lead balls, the hand cast "boolit" has made progress, beyond such "nonsense" as the seige engines of the dark ages to the icbms. For you to dismiss my submission is without merit, and prejudicial. Just because you do not know about something personally and do not care to investigate further makes you less than scholarly, you may as well be working with a bag over your head. Thanks for hopefully taking the time to read this as intently and open-minded as you read my first submission.
I have rewritten the article to include the national organiation. I was delighted one year to be able to meet Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis at one such ball in the early 1990s. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jtmichcock (talk • contribs) . My RfA
