Can you assist with reviewing this draft please: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Gohenry ? --92.21.152.68 (talk) 14:46, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, a reviewer will review it shortly. It's just because we are having a backlog at the AFC but we will come to it. Are you the original creator of this draft? User:Em-mustapha talk 15:53, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nafiu Bala Rabiu article

Hello sir, I saw your nomination for deletion on an article Nafiu Bala Rabiu that I created. Thank you very much for your contribution even though you said delete. Please can you help guide me on how to improve the article to avoid deletion? Also, how can I be a member of the Hausa wikipedian? I am also from the North, Taraba State. I speak and write in hausa too. Moshswacide (talk) 12:19, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Moshswacide, thanks for reaching out and I'm glad to see you here. I wasn't the nominator of the article but I supported it be deleted because the article subject is not notable and does not satisfies Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines, this is the basic criteria we follow to identify notable topics that are worthy of inclusion on Wikipedia. You can always use it whenever you want to start a new article. And regarding the Hausa Wikipedia, it's a free project as this one, you can take a look here Babban shafi and start contributing rightaway. You can also join us at Hausa Wikimedians User Group. User:Em-mustapha talk 17:09, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Em-mustapha Thank you very much for your guidance, I really appreciate. Will keep on working to improve my skills and knowledge here. Moshswacide (talk) 18:57, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from WozzaHoad (00:52, 20 January 2022)

Hi I'm trying to draft my first Wikipedia page. Some blocks of my text are green hatched out in the Visual Editing mode. The error is "Sorry, this element can only be edited in source mode." Can you tell me how to remove this please? I have had a look around Google & Wiki help pages but not found the solution. Regards & thanks

Hi WozzaHoad, welcome to Wikipedia. I just placed a welcome message on your talk which may help you understand more about the project, please get time to go through them. And regarding your question, yes you should change the editor to Source edit or read This page to know more about the editors and how you can switch from one to another. Hi, Thanks for reaching out. I have read your question and I think the following will be helpful for you to read: As Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia written by its readers, the subjects for our articles are generally chosen by the editing community rather than by request. There is a venue where you can request articles at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:REQ>, or if you wish to write your own, you can visit the Article Wizard at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WIZ>. If you already have content written that you would like to submit for a review you may want to try Articles for Creation <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AFC> where you can have your text evaluated and worked on by other editors to ensure it meets Wikipedia's styles, policies, and guidelines for inclusion. Please note that although Wikipedia has many articles on companies and products, our website is not a business or web directory. For more information about why this is so, please see <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:NOTDIR>. You may also find it helpful to view our notability requirements at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability> (for the general guidelines), <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:CORP> (for organizations), <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:WEB> (for websites), or <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:MUSIC> (for guidelines about music, musicians, albums, songs, etc.). You should also be aware that the Wikipedia community strongly discourages articles written by individuals close to a subject because of the inherent problem of "conflict of interest"— this is the difficulty in writing objectively about your organization, your family, your work, or yourself. You can read more about the issues around conflict-of-interest editing here: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:COI>, and about autobiography rules here: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AUTO>. Abdullahi Haske Bashir article

Hi Em-mustapha, thanks for the review on this article Draft:Abdullahi Haske Bashir, really appreciate the swift response, however i believe there may have been a mistake with its rejection as it follows the notability guideline. I will also like to clarify its suitability with regards to the issue of reliable sources, as an article within the Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria domain, i believe independent source such as Thisday, The Guardian (Nigeria), Vanguard (Nigeria), Reuters and Bloomberg News are reliable enough for this article. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you Richied3man (talk) 14:54, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Question from Gaiacono (23:49, 3 March 2022)

Hello. I just finished my first draft in my sandbox. How can I submit this draft to be reviewed for publication? --Gaiacono (talk) 23:49, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Gaiacono I noticed your question to your mentor has not yet been answered for a couple of days, so I thought I'd drop by and help you out. Right now, User:Gaiacono/sandbox would be rejected as you have not included any references to help a reviewer assess whether this person meets our Notability criteria - especially this one on artists or this one on academics.
If you either are, or know, Francine Harris, then you need to declare your WP:COI. If they gave you the image to uplpoad and are remunerating you to create this article, you are obliged to declare that on your userpage under WP:PAID.
You can get further advice on creating and submitting an new article for review at this page on Articles for Creation.
Oh dear - in trying to helpfully answer your question, I have just spotted that you simply pasted in copyrighted content from this page. Doing this is a very serious breach of our rules (see WP:COPYVIO, and I will now have to spend time deleting it from Wikipedia. In future, you must always write in your own words. Or, if these are your words and that that is your website, then you must ensure that website contains an appropriate Creative Commons licence allowing commercial re-use. It does not at this time, so must be removed. Hope this helps, and I'm sorry your first outing on Wikipedia has not gone as smoothly as you'd hoped. Nick Moyes (talk) 12:08, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Dabon Dambazau

Hi, I really appreciate your attention to this article. I'm really at lost that the sources and citations provided where not considered by you to be *Reliable sources". The citations provided were in accordance with what the Reliable source page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources If M.G. Smith, H.A.S. Johnston, and J. N. Paden are not reliable sources when it comes 19th-20th century history of Northern Nigeria I can't see any other sources that are more reliable. You may be weary of the Hausa sources provided because may be you can't have means to verify them but still Wikipedia said they accept sources in other Language. That said, I would like you guide me as to the sources that are not reliable so that I can try my best to effect correction. Only then I would know that according to your perspective my sources are not reliable, hence I would gladly delete my draft knowing well that my article is not good enough to feature on the Wikipedia mainspace. Thanks. Baaballiyo (talk) 22:03, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Baaballiyo, I'm not saying the sources you provided aren't reliable but they are inadequate to verify many contents from the article. So to keep Wikipedia safe from promotion and to make sure articles are written in a neutral point of view, that's why I declined your submission requiring more reliable sources as a prior search on Google of the article subject return no or very less coverage. Hello, I see on your user page that you use JSTOR and I'd like to know more about your experience. By my calculations, a good 70 % of the main JSTOR content is now available for everyone at Internet Archive Scholar, with full text search provided e.g. at https://scholar.archive.org/ . The service is still in beta, but I've used it for some source-finding and it seems quite usable to me; I wonder whether that's just my experience. If you have a chance, the next time you'd be looking for a source on Google Scholar or JSTOR or similar, to perform the same search on IA scholar instead, I'd be curious to hear how it ends up. Reviewing my drafts

Hello Sir!!! My friend asked me to approach you for reviewing my drafts Draft:Chahat Pandey, Draft:Zaan Khan and Draft:Bhavika Sharma. Sir can you please review these drafts? Commonedits (talk) 05:09, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Commonedits, thank you for your interest in getting an article published on Wikipedia.
I would like to let you know that after you submit your draft articles for review by other editors as a part of the "Articles for Creation" project (<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AFC>). The members of this project are experienced editors, though there is much greater demand for their services than there is supply, so you may need to wait a while before your draft is reviewed.
Once you submit your draft, it will be placed into a category where it will be open for review by anyone who reviews submissions. If your submission is approved (which may take more than a month because of the current backlog) then an editor will accept it and you will be notified of the article's creation. If your submission is not accepted, a note will be left on the page describing what can be improved, and you will be notified of this via a message on your "Talk" page.
Note that if you are interested in the publication of an article to which you are very close (e.g., an article about a member of your family, your business, your club/organization/ school, or yourself) you probably have a conflict of interest: if so, it will be absolutely critical that you disclose this when you create the article. Please see <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest> for information about doing so properly. If you do not do this, your user account may become permanently blocked and the article may be deleted.
Let me know if you have further questions. Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia, and welcome to the community! Good luck! User:Em-mustapha talk 09:43, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting of message

Hello there

I see you have reverted my message towards the user Sergecross73. I get that my edit towards the Walking with Dinosaurs article was really unnecessary and not very useful (in fact it was unsourced but originated from a particular dub of the show), but I don't understand how bad my question was in regards to asking about account creation was? I have been meaning to have sent that for a while and I completely understand if you thought it was in reaction to that poor edit, but I can assure you that there was no relation towards that poor edit aside from the timing.

I had just reminded myself about what my question, and for some reason it kind of just sparked out of nowhere. And no, it wasn't out of retaliation or anything, it's a lot more simpler than it sounds or how I'm describing it.

Again my apologies for this, but I hope you understand. 71.59.205.114 (talk) 21:04, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Malcolm Yakka (00:53, 6 April 2022)

hi hello, may you help me how to upload pictures and images with descriptions --Malcolm Yakka (talk) 00:53, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Malcom Yakka, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your interest in uploading files with descriptions on Wikipedia. You should first keep in mind that images and media must be licensed under a free content license of some kind. Acceptable licenses are discussed at <Commons Licensing >; images and media without source information or clear license status will be deleted.

To upload a picture:

1. Login (or create a username if you don't have one) 2. Click on "upload file" in the sidebar (Upload Wizard ) 3. Select the file from your computer that you want to upload 4. Select the appropriate license for the file 5. Enter a descriptive name for the image

To add the picture to a page:

1. Edit the page you want the image to appear on, and include in the place you want the image to appear:

File:(Filename you chose in step 4).(extension of file, case sensitive) Caption text 2. Save the page with an edit summary that describes what you did (e.g. "added image")

You might also find our editing instructions (<Help:Editing>) and tutorial on using images (<Wikipedia Picture Tutorial>) helpful. User:Em-mustapha talk 03:33, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Priypjs (22:39, 18 April 2022)

Hi! I don't know how to add a lead to the page I created, and everywhere I look is showing me how to add "lead missing" to a page. How can I add a lead to the page I made so that it can be published? --Priypjs (talk) 22:39, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Priypjs, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out on this! First of all, the lead section of a Wikipedia article is the section that serves as an introduction to the article and a summary of its most important contents. It's usually in the first paragraph, you just need to click on the edit button and briefly summarise the whole page, that's the Lead. You can find more information about it here LEAD SECTION. I hope this helps. User:Em-mustapha talk 23:41, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Ashishrawat1234 (15:46, 20 April 2022)

Hello i am an artist from india wanted to create my wikipedia page --Ashishrawat1234 (talk) 15:46, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As you may already know, Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia written by its readers. The subjects for our articles are generally chosen by the editing community rather than by request. While there is a venue where you can request articles, a request for an article creation on oneself is likely to be declined. You can visit our 'requests for articles' page at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles>.
It's also important to realise that Wikipedia strongly discourages articles written by the subjects themselves or by others close to a subject because of the difficulty in writing objectively about yourself, your family, or your work. Please see <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Autobiography> for our guidelines on writing about yourself or topics you are personally involved with. While keeping in mind conflict of interest issues, please note that if someone does create an article about you, you should feel more than welcome to edit the article to ensure that each piece of information is factual and complying with our "Biography of Living Persons" policy. This policy can be viewed at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons>.
You may also like to read <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)> for a guideline on the type of articles that are generally accepted.
Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia and feel free to get back in touch with us with any further comments or questions. User:Em-mustapha talk 15:56, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

eNaira Wikipedia page

Hello,

It has come to the notice of the Central Bank of Nigeria that you created a wikipedia page for eNaira (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENaira) and we would like to have your email address or phone number so we can reach out appropriately. Thank you 11:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)11:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Central Bank of Nigeria (talkcontribs)

Yes, I did create it but I can't give out my contact because I don't own the page or can do anything about it here. All the information provided on the page are secondary no original research etc, you can go through the sources at the reference section to verify for yourself. And still reminding you to change your username as it's a misleading name which goes contrary to Wikipedia's username policy. User:Em-mustapha talk 15:00, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've blocked this account as I really doubt it is the Central bank of Nigeria. Don't give them any personal information. Secretlondon (talk) 16:06, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Secretlondon, of course, I will never. User:Em-mustapha talk 17:52, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Noting it was I who reported them that led to this the username violation. Em, anytime you come across a blatant username violation just report them. Celestina007 (talk) 23:05, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Aha! Celestina007, thanks for this. User:Em-mustapha talk 13:58, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism and deletion of extended revisions on the Morchella dunalii page without any justification whatsoever.

Excuse me, but why have you deleted all the extended additions and revisions to the Morchella dunalii page? I have been working on this page for over two days now to bring it up to a good standard which you have all deleted without any reason whatsoever. Why? Are you an idiot?
