The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which has been dedicated to improving contents that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. This is a global online edit-a-thon, which is happening in at least 5 language editions of Wikipedia, including the English Wikipedia! Join us in this exciting venture, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section, if you haven't done so already. On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing Users who are able to achieve the following:

Thank you very much for signing up to participate in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far. It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 200 articles created in over seven (7) languages! The figures soars to up to a thousand, if Wikidata entries are included. Furthermore, there have been about 5 in-person gatherings of Wikipedians in different countries across the world to create articles about African(a) cinema! We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!
Thank you once again for being part of this global event! Kind regards.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 22:50, 10 November 2018 (UTC) ArbCom 2018 election voter messageHello, The Living love. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. All or some of your addition(s) to Yusuf Barnabas Bala have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:21, 23 January 2019 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue CLIV, February 2019

TonyBallioni (talk) 05:16, 18 February 2019 (UTC) Talk to us about talkingThe Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication. We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices. We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives. We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help. We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups. You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other. Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates. You can read more about the overall process on mediawiki.org. If you have questions or ideas, you can leave feedback about the consultation process in the language you prefer. Thank you! We're looking forward to talking with you. In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's categorization guidelines, but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red. Thank you. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:08, 25 February 2019 (UTC) The Bugle: Issue CLV, March 2019

It's good to have a new member from Nigeria. I see you have created a few short biographies of Nigerian politicians, including at least one of a woman. Now that you intend to create more, you might find it useful to read through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. It is standard practice, however, that only editors who have made their first edits are provided with a welcome message. It is also very important that you check the types of edits being made prior to welcoming the new editor. There are a number of reasons for this, which I can expand upon if you like. You can also read more about the guidelines for welcoming new users here. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:07, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
