User talk:EllenvanderVeenReferencesWe at Wikipedia love evidence-based medicine. Please cite high-quality reliable sources. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. A list of resources to help edit such articles can be found here. The edit box has a build in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. WP:MEDHOW walks through editing step by step. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. Your Uni library may be able to get you access to some paywalled journal articles, such as PMID 12077711 (which probably has more historical info than those book links) – try asking a librarian there. Also, sometime when you have a bit of time, you might like to learn a bit more about ways of consulting PubMed (including use of MeSH terms). There are plenty of tutorials around (eg [2][3][4]), and it's something that I think universities really should be getting all life-science students to do. Learning to use PubMed well is incredibly useful and a great investment for the future :)) Best, 86.181.67.166 (talk) 22:49, 4 January 2015 (UTC) (a regular ip editor)
