I heard on TV (youtube) that he came up in the Panama Papers. However, newspaper articles (on Google News) mention a company headquartered in the British Virgin Islands, not Panama. So I am not sure what this means and I have left it out.Zigzig20s (talk) 13:41, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
The BVI is the #1 provider worldwide of offshore companies, so that makes sense. See Panama Papers: British Virgin Islands is largest source of foreign ownership of UK property for example. Edwardx (talk) 15:51, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

I'm sure many people think that, and the media does tend to simplify things, but the Mossack Fonseca connection is the only common thread, and they just happened to have a Panama HQ, hence the name. Edwardx (talk) 16:21, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

For the Oscar nominated articles

Make sure you link them to the yearly pages also for the Oscars! I was going to do more sometime but never got down to it! (One major problem is how many of the remaining people have alternate names as well as people like editors have too many pages to link to), also link them to the foreign articles (most of them have links in German already) Wgolf (talk) 21:38, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

That's very kind of you, ExRat. I only started the ball rolling. JAEVI did most of the hard work. And Philafrenzy is now making some fine adjustments.
As long as a subject is notable, and one demonstrates its notability with one or two citations from reliable sources, that should be enough to start an article. And it is very gratifying how often others come along and expand things, as with Pat Ast. Do try not to feel too daunted - articles about genuinely notable subjects rarely get deleted! Hobhouse family

He Edwardx - Thank you for creating the articles Will Hobhouse and Henry Hobhouse (author) as well as the Category Hobhouse family. I spent a lot of time researching and writing the article Stephen Hobhouse which you included in your category (Feel free to tinker with it if you have anything to add). Do you have any special knowlege of this large and fascinating family? And are they all related? It is clear that your two Hobhouses are related to Stephen the peace activist. There is a lovely family tree that includes some of the Hobhouse clan in the article Catherine Courtney, Baroness Courtney of Penwith, another Hobhouse relative. Then there is the fascinating Beatrice Webb, sister-in-law to Henry Hobhouse (East Somerset MP), thus an aunt of Stephen. Do you have any ideas about how to bring bit of order to this large and complicated family? Are there any Hobhouses that need articles to be written about them? And thank you for your kind words. Stephen sounds like a very interesting fellow. It is fascinating how these families connect with each other. That house photo for Catherine Courtney, Baroness Courtney of Penwith looked familiar - always good to see one's efforts getting used. A while ago I did a lot of work on the Bevan family, and it it can be tricky to puzzle out the links, especially when they keep reusing first names. Infoboxes help, which is why I've just added one for Arthur Hobhouse. We could do a page for Hobhouse family, but Hobhouse already covers much of that ground. I'm confident that there are other family members in need of articles, and will let you know if I come across any. I think I will do a DYK for Henry Hobhouse (author) in a few days. Great idea about the infoboxes! I will do one for Stephen when I have time. I would love to see family tree charts for families like the Hobhouses and the Bevinses in the beautiful format used in Catherine Courtney (Good grief! Always easier to take a decent photo when the house is as lovely as 15 Cheyne Walk. I've never done a chart like that either. Just added Penelope Hobhouse (look at her relative Robin Chichester-Clark, who has an easier chart style) to the category, and added wife and children details to Arthur Hobhouse. Little by little, one can flesh out the wider story of the family and how it connects with other notable families. Every little helps. Edwardx (talk) 22:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Prusa i3 questions

Thanks very much for helping me with the DYK, I have a couple of questions that I can't find answers to I wondered if you could help me with?

  • There is a misunderstanding about the references which I have explained but I'm not sure if I need to use a template or something?
  • I told the inventor of it and he made a cool little video for the article which I've added, however the text still says (pictured), is there are an alternative word for videos? I can't find it in the documentation but maybe I'm missing something.

Philip May

Hi, I am pretty 99% sure that the Philip John May in the Companies House listing is not the same one as the Philip John May moving into number 10. That Philip May is frequently referred to as the Chief Executive of the chemicals company U-POL (here also and this Linkedin page suggests a separate person. The Philip May now moving into no. 10 had a different LinkedIn page which has now been deleted that said he worked at Capital Group. Blythwood (talk) 04:18, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Alan Howard Wikipedia - Proposed Additions

Hi Edward. I hope this message finds you well!

I’m writing to you as I have a CoI and I see that you’ve edited a large number of Wikipedia pages, including many top hedge fund managers and other significant figures in the business and finance space.

I’m looking to see whether you would be interested in adding some information to the Wikipedia page of Alan Howard, hedge fund manager at Brevan Howard, who has asked me to help have it updated.

His current Wikipedia page is a stub: it has some information regarding his professional career, however, there is a lot of information about him that is available online but is not on his page.

Thanks for looking into it. Yes, the Public Service Star (Distinguished Friends of Singapore) award in Singapore is noted here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintang_Bakti_Masyarakat. It was also included in Walter Kielholz’ Wikipedia page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Kielholz. The Sustainable Tuesday award was included in Maurits Groen’s Wikipedia page - https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurits_Groen. That may all well be true, but none of the awards are notable. We already have several awards mentioned in the Paul Polman article, and Wikipedia is only meant to be a summary, not a list of every award he has ever received.
