User talk:Edward/archive1Hmm, although you've been here _ages_, no one seems to have seen fit to welcome you. How rude. Allow me: Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them - If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! -- Finlay McWalter 22:40, 20 Jan 2004 (UTC) The articles on paraplegia and quadriplegia do actually contain enough information to work out what the difference is. --Paul A 07:57, 19 Feb 2004 (UTC) Steven LevyHi I noticed that you have Levy in your list of articles to write, well I beat you to it :) I wrote a small stub, but I'd appreciate any info you could add to the article. Dori | Talk 19:01, Mar 25, 2004 (UTC) Michael MooreWell done with the rv - you beat me to it. --bodnotbod 23:24, May 22, 2004 (UTC) Speedy Award for you Congratulations Thanks for the 'rv' it was hot for a beginner dealing with eraser sexist tutorial and vandals ;-) --Neuromancien 02:38, 2004 May 26 (UTC) ex 80...... Annoyingly, category links appear as blank lines if you do it one per line. Try and slot them in between whitespace, in the meantime. Thanks Dysprosia 06:21, 31 May 2004 (UTC) Category:British political partiesYou've just added some of these to various parties, but I wonder why 'British' was used rather than 'UK' as strictly 'British' shouldn't include those only organising in Scotland or N.Ireland. --VampWillow 23:39, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
Category misspelled, links brokenIt's not "catorgy"; the BBC channel links are all red because of the typo. Architeuthis 19:42, 2 Jun 2004 (UTC)
ThanksThanks Ed about the Bristol Airport page, never thanked before - it was just such a pity that while Luton and other similer sized airports had a page - Bristol had none - CGorman 18:35 8/6/04 Thanks for fixing my mistake. I have been categorizing all the airports in WP, and as over 1/3 of the airports are US, I still type that in without thinking. Burgundavia 07:15, Jun 9, 2004 (UTC)
Welcome to WikiProject AirportsWelcome. As you have probably already noticed, all the airports are categorized under Airports of *, * being the country name. Currently the US, UK and Canada are subcategorized due to numbers of airports. There are about 409 airports in WP right now, with about 130 being US. I am going to create a WP:WP Airport to do box, so that we can track things that needs to be done. So these are the things that I would like to have done.
Our current mix is one Canadian (me), an Aussie and you, the Scot, meaning we have a good spread. The day will come very soon when I cannot watch every airport and category, like I currently do. Overall, thanks for jumping on my mad little ship on this adventure. Burgundavia 10:57, Jun 12, 2004 (UTC)
Airports ProjectJust an update on what is being done.
Burgundavia 03:32, Jun 20, 2004 (UTC) Dear Edward: Sorry to accidentally mix up your English seaside resorts project page, I was trying to create a Kent seaside resort project and found your project. I contributed Manston airport and am interested in airport projects as well as coastal towns, but do not know enough about creating project pages. Can I place a link to your project page from my user page (Faedra) Can you advise how best to set up a subproject just for Kent. Faedra 12:30, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I see you were planning to do a League table article. Having found it on the Wikipedia:Requested articles/sports page, I've done it. Hi, I noticed you were a Debianian. Some people have talked about putting together a Wikimedia LiveCD project, based on Knoppix most likely. Does this sound like an interesting idea, and would you have an idea in mind for what should be included? -SV 04:25, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC) Income tax plotsOn the rather nice plots you have made, the axis are labelled incorrectly. They say (1000 pounds) which would mean the label "50000" applied to £50,000,000! Rgds, Rich Farmbrough 23:56, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)
The Other Kevin Williamson? When I finished putting up the article on Kevin Williamson (creator of Dawson's Creek, writer of Scream) I noticed it linked to your list of books as the co-author of "Drugs and the Party Line." Am I wrong in assuming the one I profiled is different than your author? PedanticallySpeaking 16:27, Aug 18, 2004 (UTC)
The Door is misplacedHi! Haven't run into you as yet. I noticed you seem to be involved with the Category:Magazines area and when I placed The Door in this category today, the system somehow glitched it in the "S" spot. ??? Anyway, I wonder if you are able to fix this situation. Maybe put it under "T" - or - put it in the "Satirical magazines" category, which would be more precise, actually. Many thanks in advance! If you aren't an admin (sysop), just let me know and I'll find another Wikipedian. . . (smile) --avnative 19:57, Sep 21, 2004 (UTC) Hi. I've reverted the link to Yatton from the above page. The Railway Stations pages by convention have links to articles on railway stations, not to articles about the village, town or city served by the railway station. --Tagishsimon I'm on BTOpenworld in Glasgow. I can access http://www.georgewbush.com perfectly happily. AlistairMcMillan 14:44, 27 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Thomas FrankFYI, I started an article on Thomas Frank, whom I noticed is linked from your page. "Transportation" in the United KingdomI agree with you wholeheartedly about the misnaming of this category (which has nothing at all to do with convicts!). Can categories be renamed in the same way as ordinary articles? -- Picapica 13:05, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) Article LicensingHi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
OR
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" with "{{MultiLicensePD}}". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. – Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 14:11, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC) In the holiday spirit... I'd like to remind you that on Nov 2, the good defeated the evil, electing W president for four more years. mwhahahahaha. think about it next time your friends cut off some englishman's head, and brag about it on al-jazeera - Anonymous troll Sew the Wind, Reap the WhirlwindThe thing I want to know is this: is Wikipedia an encyclopedia, or is it a propaganda machine for Islamic extremists? I don't consider the removal of biased material as vandalism. If you refuse to produce objective reports on such sensitive topics, then your project is doomed in the free world. We are not idiots. We know that torture is a fact of life everywhere, but for every incident involving U.S. citizens, it happens ten thousand times in other nations, esp. within totalitarian Islamic regimes. Banning me from editing would be a big mistake. I am a VC++ programmer, and I have authored various internet tools that will make your on-line existence a living hell. I would unleash an automated army of slave-bots that would incessantly search through every Wiki site on the 'net, deleting or defacing every article in place thousands of times every hour. I will shut you DOWN like a clown. Don't mess with me, just be fair and objective. Epsilon3
Consider alternativesEddie, boy, no offense, but judging by you pic, you may want to consider spending more time in the gym, and less policing Jihadipedia. Who knows, you might even get some someday. Agrh... who am I kidding! --68.107.102.129 16:47, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Since you mentioned jihadipedia, here it is, really: http://geocities.com/jihadipedia You can start by History. |
