Phi Beta Sigma NavBox as Template.I noticed that you added the more or less identical navbox to both Phi Beta Sigma and Phi Beta Sigma members, and have been working on your X7 template. I've made fraternity-related templates (Alpha Phi Omega) before, if you would like help. Your additions to the Phi Beta Sigma related articles have been great!Naraht (talk) 08:55, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Phi Beta Sigma chapter references. There are a couple of things that could be improved on the Phi Beta Sigma chapter references. The first is that all of the PBS southeastern region can be combined. Instead of <ref>[http://www.pbs1914se.org Phi Beta Sigma Southeastern Region]</ref> again and again, you can use named references. The first one in the file would be <ref name="pbs1914se">[http://www.pbs1914se.org Phi Beta Sigma Southeastern Region]</ref> and any later ones in the file would be <ref name="pbs1914se"/><nowiki>'''. Note that you don't need a '''<nowiki></ref> for the later ones, but you do need the / at the end. (It doesn't have to be the first one that actually has the website, but some people find it confusing if it isn't) Also, the link should be to the actual page that has the information, so I think the link should be to http://www.pbs1914se.org/links.htm which is the page actually brought up as a subpage when you click the appropriate link on http://www.pbs1914se.org/. Also, more than one reference is good, so for the ones where you actually have a chapter list from links page, go ahead and use pbs1914se anyway. I'll start a few of these.Naraht (talk) 13:38, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
List of ConclavesI know that you are mentioning specific conclaves as you go along, but you may also consider a page for all of the conclaves the way that it has been done for AKA Boules, OPP or DST. See [[Category:Fraternity and Sorority National Conference Lists]] for the ones that have been done already. I'll be happy to help research these.Naraht (talk) 12:40, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Your recent editsHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:58, 17 August 2009 (UTC) Invitation to join the College Basketball ProjectHi, and welcome to the College basketball Wikiproject! We are a group of editors who love college basketball and work to improve Wikipedia's coverage of this sport. There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
If you have any ideas you would like to share or if there is any way your fellow college basketball fans can help you, please feel free to ask on the project talk page. I've noticed you have been doing a lot of nice work on the MEAC, particularly in creating the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and some of the yearly tournament pages. If you're interested, there is a College Basketball project that you are welcome to take part in. Thanks for the nice work! Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preferenceHello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled. On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note. Non-free rationale for File:PBSMillionManMarch1995.jpgThanks for uploading or contributing to File:PBSMillionManMarch1995.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:10, 26 July 2012 (UTC) This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Leonard F. Morse, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.omicronsigma1914.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=182064&module_id=11014. It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues. If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Using predominant is redundant and misplaced, all schools in the conferences are HBCUs. And the MEAC and SWAC are in fact prominent black athletic conferences, they draw more black fans/spectators than any collegiate conference due to their unique and cultural appeal.Broadmoor (talk) 16:25, 11 April 2015 (UTC) Disambiguation link notification for October 19Hi. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:38, 27 December 2015 (UTC) I have removed some copyright violations from the draft article in your sandbox. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.
Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} . — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 04:58, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).
Educatedblkman1914 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I submit this appeal to my blocking on the grounds that I have both read and understand Wikipedia's copyright policy and understand the actions that have lead to this. As a contributing wikipedian for 5+ years I have have worked very hard to make positive contributions in good faith to make Wikipedia better. My contributions to wikipedia can be found in a number of articles such as North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina A&T Aggies football, and Phi Beta Sigma. I noticed that the first warning, that was issued was for material that was within my sandbox, and not within the articles of a wikipedia page. As noted in Wikipedia:About the Sandbox, "The Sandbox was created as a place with fewer rules and policies than other pages on Wikipedia. For example, you don't have to follow the Manual of Style or reach community consensus before making a major change. However, it must not be used for malicious purposes, and policies such as no personal attacks, civility, and copyrights (such as non-free content criteria) still apply." I do understand that copyright rules still do exist in the sandboxes, however the material that you used for my first warning was not in a main article, did not appear on an article, and was used for notekeeping purposes as a piece of information to be re-written in my own words and cited as a source. Again, I accept responsibility for my violation of Wikipedia's Copyright policy, and accept the resulting punishment. I intend to regain the trust of the wikipedia community by displaying the best in conduct. I also pledge that in the future know that when fatigue sets in, it is better to log off and refresh than to cut corners for the sake of trying to finish an article. I implore the administrators to lift my suspension so that I can continue making positive contributions to Wikipedia such as the ones that I have mentioned. Wikipedia is a cause that I am fully invested in and nothing would please me more than to be able to positively contribute to the encyclopedia. I Thank you in advance for your consideration and sincerely hope for a positive resolution. Educatedblkman1914 (talk) 00:40, 12 January 2016 (UTC) Decline reason: I am unwilling to unblock you at present, as what you say about the circumstances which led to the block is highly inaccurate. As Diannaa has described below, you have recently been warned several times about copyright, and not only in sandbox pages. Moreover, what she says relates only to recent editing: you have received a number of messages about copyright infringements over a period of almost six and a half years. An editor who ignores a string of warnings about copyright until blocked, and who then appears to accept what he or she has been told about the reason for the block, but who on closer examination turns out to be accepting only a small part of the problem, and appearing to be unaware of the whole story, even though it is visible on his or her talk page, must raise doubts about whether he or she has really taken the issue on board. I suggest that if you consider making another unblock request, you first think very carefully about the whole picture. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:17, 15 January 2016 (UTC) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. You are incorrect when you say that the first warning was for copyright material you placed in a sandbox. What brought your editing to my attention was copyright violations in article space, added to the article 2015 North Carolina A&T Aggies football team on December 26. The violating content was added from over a dozen different sources. You received a warning for these violations on December 27; I removed the material from the article and revision-deleted it. Through daily monitoring of your contributions I discovered copyright violations being added to a sandbox on January 7, and issued a final warning, again removing the content from the article and hiding the revisions. I noticed further copyright violations being added to a different sandbox on January 11, and at this point you were blocked. Copyright material is not permitted anywhere on this wiki, not even in a sandbox, not even temporarily until you have the time or inclination to edit it. Please store such material off-wiki in a Word document or a text file and make sure to paraphrase it thoroughly before moving it onto this wiki. Please confirm that you have read the guideline Wikipedia:Plagiarism and the policy page Wikipedia:Copyrights. You can comment below my post if you like. — Diannaa (talk) 00:46, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
Next stepI'm looking for what the next step is for User:Educatedblkman1914 , it seems that a review can only occur if the a {{request unblock}} is used. Unblock Request
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.
Educatedblkman1914 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I am formally resubmitting an appeal to the block placed upon this account which occurred on 11 January 2016 by administrator @Diannaa: and the subsequent appeal that was denied by administrator @JamesBWatson: on 15 January 2016. I would like to start off by stating that I Accept full responsibility for violating Wikipedia’s Copyright and Plagiarism policies that occurred in the 2015 North Carolina A&T Aggies football team article, within my personal sandboxes, and within at least one other article in wikipedia. I now understand that copying and pasting copywritten materials into any section of Wikipedia, including but not limited to Articles and sandboxes, is in fact a violation of this very policy. I plan to regain the trust of the Wikipedia community by making a conscious effort to no longer copy and paste content from other sources into any page on Wikipedia. As a condition for reinstatement outlined by Diannaa, I have reread the Copyright & Plagiarism policies and would be open to additional improvement planning. Lastly, I would like to thank Diannaa and JamesBWatson for their corporation and consideration during these proceedings. I would also like to thank @Naraht: for his assistance and advocacy; he is truly a mentor and friend. It is my hope that we are able to reach a resolution and begin a new chapter. Again thank you for your consideration. --Educatedblkman1914 (talk) 23:25, 15 February 2016 (UTC) Accept reason: You have now been unblocked. I will resume daily checks, and any further violations whether in article space or a sandbox will result in an immediate re-block. Copyvio detectorHi Educatedblkman1914. Did you know we have available a copyvio detection tool, https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/ ? This is an easy way to check content for unacceptable amounts of overlap with source material that is accessible online. Your recent additions to Sandbox 26 show some phrases copied directly from the source page here. Sometimes when providing list-type data or statistics it's unavoidable to have overlap, but we can and should re-work the material as much as possible, by changing the phrasing, adding or removing details, or presenting the material in a different order. I have done some amendments to the page, reducing the percentage overlap as shown by the copyvio tool from 34.2 per cent to 20.6 per cent. — Diannaa (talk) 20:14, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
