Hey, E247

Just came across your recent edits to the Brian Dawkins article. I hope this means we will see more of you during the coming fall season. Cheers. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 08:41, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Heh, we'll see. Nice seeing you again. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:16, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Talk Page Protection

I have unprotected your talk page per WP:PP. Indefinite protections of talk pages are rarely used now and when talk pages are protected, should be accompanied by an unprotected subpage. If you continue to experience persistent vandalism, you may request a short term protection of your page at WP:RFPP you can re-protect it yourself. Mkdwtalk 14:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks! Sorry for any trouble. Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:32, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

How did you make this? WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:26, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

I don't understand your question. Are you asking how I created the category page or how I populated it? A category page can be created by adding text to a page that starts with the prefix "Category" (in this case, {{Wikipedia category|hidden=yes}} was added). If you're asking how I populated it, I added a code within Template:Infobox NFL player so that any infobox that has "free agent" as the content for the |currentteam parameter is added to the category. If you need more help with categories, WP:CAT can address your questions. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:46, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
It is all good now, thanks for adding the "free agent" btw because I have seen some articles with that. I tested it on an article and it was placed in the category. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 23:13, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Your input is requested . . . .

Happy New Year, E247. I'd like to get your opinion on this revised infobox template for college football players: [1]. Once the college player template is revised, we will probably be taking another look at Template:Infobox NFL player next; given your first-hand knowledge about the last series of revisions and merges to the NFL player infobox, as well as your understanding of the template's history, you could be of help in both instances. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 18:19, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

I like the new college football player infobox, and I definitely approve of making the infobox transition from college to NFL easier for everyone. You have my trust for any changes there. I'm not sure how much time I can contribute to improving the NFL player infobox, but I can check out any proposed changes. Thanks! Eagles 24/7 (C) 06:13, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

War Editing

Greetings,

Another user and myself got into a bit of an editing war on G-Dragon's page over disputed information. I do believe we have violated the 3 revert rules, however, I am not sure. Would you mind reviewing it? Thank you. AhnSoonKyung (talk) 13:29, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for the message. Unfortunately, I am busy at the moment and cannot handle your request. However, feel free to post a report at WP:AN3 if you feel a violation has taken place. Thanks! Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:10, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Inappropriate use of SPA tag?

Hello. It has come to my attention that you, at least in the past, have been using the SPA tag not in accordance with the guidelines proposed in the SPA essay. Please see WP:SPA for details. The reason you are receiving this message is that multiple of your SPA tags in the following discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Autonomous_Sensory_Meridian_Response were not in accordance with the guideline. My guess is that this was a one off event, but in case it wasn't, I'd ask you from refraining from using the tag on users who have several edits on multiple subjects. Note there are other tags you can use for some of the users you tagged as an SPA, but please reserve the SPA tag for single subject editors. For example if someone has 4 edits on 3 different subjects and joins an AFD discussion, do not use the SPA tag on them, but feel free to use other tags if it is appropriate to do so. Thanks. MATThematical (talk) 16:37, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the message. I'm not sure if this is obvious, but you are referencing an AfD from nearly three and a half years ago. Now, reviewing the thread again, I'm not quite sure what you're upset about. Every single account I tagged with the SPA template had their first edits within that AfD, and IIRC, they were the result of a social media or blog posting to "save" the article. An article deleted in 2010

Could you please let me know how I can get a copy of a deleted article Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (created in 2010)? The society grew in the recent years and can provide references to the articles published nationally. I would like to edit this article and put it again through the verification process. Could you please help? Gpeja (talk) 23:01, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

I've restored the article and moved it to your userspace at the following location: User:Gpeja/Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:57, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Van Buren

As an Eagles fan, I thought it might interest you to see my work on Steve Van Buren, and maybe provide some input. I picked the article up as an LSU fan. It's been up for GA review for about a month, so it'll probably be reviewed any day now. I'm pretty confident in it. The only thing is, I'm unsure about his coaching career after 1967. Sources are scarce on it. Lizard (talk) 15:33, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

The article looks pretty good, congrats! I can't seem to have much luck finding anything on his career after 1967 either, however. Good luck with the review! Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:21, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Welp, it was reviewed by Wikipedia's living legend, Wizardman. Passed with flying colors. Lizard (talk) 05:24, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection

Hello, Eagles247. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins

Hello,

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers

Hi Eagles247.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:46, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

CopyVio RevDel Request

Are you available to do a CopyVio RevDel request? - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:21 on April 3, 2019 (UTC)

@Neutralhomer: Sure, what page? Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:26, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Pauley Perrette. Most recent edits. - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:27 on April 3, 2019 (UTC)
@Neutralhomer: Done. And just a heads up for the future, CopyVio refers to copyright violations (typically copying and pasting from a source) whereas the edit I RevDel'd falls under the "Grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material" criteria. Thanks for pointing it out! Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:34, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
It's been awhile since I did a RevDel request. So I just threw everything in there. :) Thanks for taking care of it for me. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:38 on April 3, 2019 (UTC)
