Long overdue, but this is thanks for adopting me all those years ago and helping me find my feet on this Wiki. Your adoptership (if that is a real world) has been invaluable and I have really appreciated all the help you have given me. Skamecrazy123 (talk) 01:15, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
I was under the impression that, once a page had been nominated for AfD, it was not meant to be blanked until the AfD had run its course. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 19:27, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, sounds like he was trouble from the off. I still don't think the new Xbox is a hoax, but the way he acted made me have second thoughts --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 19:35, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
A detailed table and notes have now been created and posted. It compares how RfA is carried out on major Wikipedias (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish). If you feel that other important language Wikipedias should be added, please let us know. This may however depend on our/your language skills!
Done and sure, just make sure you change the colors to Cowboys colors. I don't think you want an Eagles-themed counter on your userpage. Eagles24/7(C)21:51, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Merging
I came across 4th Halifax Highland Scout Troop / Scots Highland Company whilst going through the backlogs and noted it had a merge template and, on the talk page of the article it was to be merged to, a suggestion that it be scaled down before mergin. I put my opinion forth on both the article talk page, the talk page of the article it was to be merged to and the talk page of the user who suggested the merge as well as asking if they would have any objections to me scaling it down. My question is what to do if no one gets back to me. Considering the article was found on the last page of the NPP backlog (creation date 11th June 2011), I do wonder. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 23:20, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
It appears that the user who suggested the merge is semi-active, but if he doesn't get back to you (and since there are no objections to a merge or scale-down), you could go ahead and scale the article down and merge it if you like. Eagles24/7(C)23:28, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
Your excision of a sock's comments on my talk page
I didn't feel the need to personally remove the comments because I was sarcastic on their talk page and was being bitter at the fact that a MFD was conducted underneath my nose without a single notice to me. Therefore I decided to try to make it a teaching experience and to use part of his rationalle for MFD to show how silly the MFD was. Hasteur (talk) 03:38, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
If you want to restore the comment, feel free to do so. I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep the snark on your talk page or not. Eagles24/7(C)03:41, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
And...he deleted it down. Where is my right to try to become an admin? Where is democracy? I feel I will go and abuse muslims again!--DissidentRUS (talk) 19:18, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Talk like that will certainly not get you an Admins position. Hard work, civility and good faith on the other hand, will. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 19:21, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Ah ok. I thought ban and block were interchangable. Boy was I wrong. By the way, DissidentRUS is threatening to "block himself forever by committing Wiki suicide (basically vandalize until he's blocked). I'm trying to talk him out of it but just thought I would give you a heads up --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 20:26, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Well I have offered to give him a hand with his articles when his block is up, but that will entirely depend upon his attitude. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 20:27, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
I would normally agree, but I find that:
1 - Those sorts of feelings are generally so entrenched within a person that trying to change them is pointless
2 - Wikipedia is not the place to be having those sorts of arguments
We will see how it goes anyway. I really hope that he doesn't start to vandalize things as soon as his block his up. Fingers crossed. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 20:41, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Played in 10 games for the Seminoles as a true freshman...earned playing time in the Seminoles' victory over UCLA in the Emerald Bowl...caught two passes for 26 yards and earned three rushing attempts for 13 yards...returned one kickoff for 21 yards...was one of two true freshmen wide receivers to catch a pass during the 2006 season
The "Freshman career" section on Wikipedia says (direct copy/paste highlighted):
In 2006, as a true freshman, Parker played in 10 games for the Seminoles. He received playing time in the Seminoles' Emerald Bowl victory over the UCLA. He caught two passes for 26 yards and earned three rushing attempts for 13 yards. He also returned one kickoff for 21 yards and was one of two true freshmen wide receivers to catch a pass during the 2006 season.
First two: Kuru is an admin and if they feel it meets WP:REVDEL (I personally don't), he can delete them himself. Third and sixth ones: already deleted. Fourth and fifth definitely don't meet WP:REVDEL. Eagles24/7(C)04:45, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
I'm not surprised he got indefblocked after this comment on my talk page, where he seemed to know too much about the 4chan raid. I didn't want to make unproveable accusations or voice any suspicions at the time, but now I am confident that he instigated it. Reaper Eternal (talk) 19:30, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Considering he seemed to have a massive bone to pick with Ymblanter, I'm not surprised either. Prehaps it was foolishness on my part, but I really did think that his vandalism was caused by frustration because his articles were being PRODed and all that. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 19:35, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
The lesson to learn here is that assuming good faith should only go so far. Skamecrazy, you did nothing wrong and DissidentRUS shouldn't have used the rope given to him to hang himself. Unfortunately, he was editing in bad faith and clearly was only here to disrupt. Whether or not you decide to change your !vote here should not be determined by the creator's behavior. Eagles24/7(C)19:47, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
I've flip flopped around with it enough and found nothing notable at all (there may have been something in Russian but then, I don't understand Russian). I will change it back to my original vote. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 20:29, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
You have to place the category in the infobox because if not the only page that will be in the category is the documentation page. When the category is in the infobox, every article that has that infobox will be in the category. I hope that clears it up all the confusion. —Michael Jester (talk) 21:41, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks
...for finishing up the userfication on that. I was going to but got distracted arguing with Malleus, heh. 28bytes (talk) 22:18, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
Hi, just a question stemming from this comment in a discussion elsewhere. I occasionally give a 3RR warning if an editor (usually with a COI or some form of BLP-infringing mania) has reverted twice and seems hell-bent on reverting until they get their way. I might even give a 3RR warning after only one revert, if it seems particularly obvious that the editor is headed in that direction. The Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring page almost requires one to have given the warning before reporting, and editors keen on edit warring often go from two reverts to four even before anyone gets a chance to warn them. So is "Don't use the template until a user reverts three times" a universal requirement, or just a recommendation for those who seem to be using the template as a tool in an edit war where they are doing most of the reverting themselves?
I do also regularly use the uw-ew template where there is edit-warring happening but I don't foresee it breaching 3RR in the near future. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:49, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
In Jasper Deng's case, he misused the template as he was the one edit warring, not the other user. I've seen Jasper hand out these templates after a user reverts him instead of discussing with the user and I'm sick of his WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT attitude, to put it bluntly. As you said, if a user appears to be "hell-bent" on having the page look a certain way, the template is appropriate. However, if you believe there's nothing terribly wrong with his edit, there's no need for the warning, just discuss. My comment "Don't use the template until a user reverts three times" is directed solely at Jasper to prevent him from biting newbies and misusing warning templates, which he tends to do a lot of. Eagles24/7(C)23:56, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
How am I doing as a Wikipedian? I looked at my contribution count and, frankly, I am not impressed with myself. I have done twice as many talk page counts as article edits, mainly due to the misplaced thought that I should stick to new page patrolling and speedy deletion over anything else.
I have joined the GOCE in order to get some experiance editing articles, but is there anything else I can do? I am all dry when it comes to ideas for new articles and, at the moment, I feel like I have wasted the time you have spent tutoring me doing... well, precious little (and I feel bad about it). I am not trying to be a drama queen here, but I don't know if the direction I am going on Wikipedia is the right one. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 21:59, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
A suggestion; flick through the list of unreferenced BLPs until you find one that's fairly short, but where Google searches show the person is clearly notable. Add in those facts from Google hits (replacing the original unreferenced material if necessary), and turn the article into a properly referenced start class one. Then, since it'll almost certainly be 2x expanded, submit it at WP:DYK. It's fun to do and benefits the encyclopedia. It doesn't have to be on a subject area you know or even care about; I just did one on an Indian politician. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:43, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Skamecrazy, I agree that you may want to expand your horizons, especially if, as you say on your userpage, you want to become an admin in the future. You need more experience, and your edit count shows it. You have many options to proceed, such as the one listed above by Demiurge1000. Wikipedia needs all biographies sourced and DYKs are little accolades for all your hard work. I currently have 10 DYKs (with another on its way). You could also become a vandal-fighter with the help from Huggle, Twinkle, GLOO, and the recent changes page. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know, but try some things out and see what you like. Eagles24/7(C)02:44, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
Hey there!
Hi there Eagles247! I saw your signature in the discussion about the 2011 NFL Lockout and I like how you changed the color of it! I know a little bit about that but not much. Could you tell me a little bit more about how to do that? ~~Just joined and still learning Dbrain64 (talk) 14:21, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) You can change your signature by going into Special:Preferences. Then you enter in the HTML or wiki code to make your signature look the way you want it to. For example, to change the color of my signature and italicize it, I would enter something like this: <span style="color:#66CC99">Reaper Eternal</span> (<span style="color:#44BF88">talk</span> | <span style="color:#22A566">contribs</span>). This produces Reaper Eternal (talk | contribs). Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 20:04, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Hello, Eagles247. Please check your email; you've got mail! It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the You've got mail or ygm template.
With the lockout ending, players can negotiate and agree to contracts as soon as later today or tomorrow, but can't officially sign until the union recertifies. Would we add transactions when they're agreed to, or would we wait until after they can happen officially? RevanFan (talk) 15:00, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
I doubt the contracts agreed upon will be announced by the teams until the union recertifies, so I think they should be added when they are officially announced. I would go to Pats1 for a second opinion though. Looks like he agrees. Eagles24/7(C)17:50, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
A Question for You
How come you deleted the page for Hyro Da Hero?. What's with that?, he clearly deserves a page. I would edit it to some acceptable level for wikipedia, I guess what I'm asking you is to restore it please. Zephyr surfer (talk) 19:40, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Ok then.I think he meets a few criteria but I'll say number 8, as he was nominated for Kerrang 2011, didn't win but he was nominated all the same. Zephyr surfer (talk) 16:02, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Alright then I'll say 6 because the members of his band are themselves notable musicians. Some members are Paul Hinojos and Cody Votolato. So this should hopefully satisfy that criteria, right?.Hyro has also done some interviews that aired on tv and music videos that have coverage too and if not what about it being rules of thumb. Zephyr surfer (talk) 16:44, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but I edited the page and didn't remove the tag. Adding the tag wasn't necessarily idiotic, but leaving it there when I added a block notice was. But I'm just babbling now, sorry for the orange bar. --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:21, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
I had requested the CSD before ClueBot NG's warning and Floquenbeam's block, as the account that made the page with just a period was an obvious sockpuppet. It didn't meat that criterea after the warning and block though, but I was afraid to remove the template on my own.Jasper Deng(talk)20:23, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Agreeing to a deal is one thing but signing is the REAL deal. You do think players have ever verbally agreed to a deal and then backed out? Of course they have. It's called a smoke screen. Player can not be SIGNED until Tuesday, July 26th. Therefore, all this talk is here say. Carthage44 (talk) 23:08, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, ESPN released a report that they decided that UDFAs could be signed today. Either way, most UDFAs do not back out (with a few exceptions, of course), and if they do, it can be easily changed. RevanFan (talk) 04:11, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
I'm sitting in that little IRC chat room you made all alone. I figured somebody would be in there, but no. Haha,--Giants27(T|C)14:08, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
True, but that version is outdated and its been almost 2 years since it was edited. I just prefer to start it off fresh.--Yankees1019:14, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, Yankees, but I would rather keep the history of articles intact, especially if there isn't a real policy-based reason for deletion. Eagles24/7(C)19:29, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Because undrafted free agents can sign, as can drafted rookies. However, players can't sign with a new team or their current ones until Friday.--Giants27(T|C)04:15, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Why isn't an agents word solid fact? So, we have to wait until the Patriots website reports it? Man it must be suck having to semi or fully protect articles on all the Qbs that got traded today. Trying to beat back the undead zombie hoard of edits!!! Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 04:19, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Lol to that. Good luck, bet you can't wait till Friday!!! Just looked, why is the rticel semi protected for Mcnabb, but shown as Vikings? Santonio Holmes has a shitty edit on the bottom of the page, not sure if you wanna put the contract ammount there or remove the edit and semi. Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 04:35, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I will add all the UDFAs as they become announced on official team sites. Don't worry about doing any yourself, right now. RevanFan (talk) 15:03, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I'm done with every team from the Bills through the Falcons so far. I'm going in order per this page. Could you go over their templates to make sure the player counts are correct? RevanFan (talk) 15:22, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Also, one more thing. A few of the teams I went through (Raiders are the most obvious) haven't announced signings yet. When they do, could you add them? I might not see it. RevanFan (talk) 15:30, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) As far as I can tell, the rest are correct, but Pats1 will go through them in-depth later. As long as the active count is less than 90, it really isn't too important at this point. If I see anything on Twitter, I'll add it. Eagles24/7(C)15:31, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I know you opined "Don't delete", but would it bother you if I deleted it invoking IAR? It does no one any good to have the page, and it seems to be causing the guy some distress. I think the rule probably agrees with you, but I think he'd be happier, and we'd all be letter off, if we bent the rule and let him go as quietly as possible. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:44, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
If you are going to keep changing my edits can I at least start changing them when it hits 12 since that is officially Friday or do I have to wait till 6:00 exactly? OneBucPerson (talk) 02:51, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
But people are going to start changing stuff when they wake up tomorrow, why can't I just start changing stuff in an hour, you shouldn't have to wait till exactly the moment the contract is made official, it is not going to corrupt the facts, no one is going to care what time the contract was signed, just that date when it was signed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OneBucPerson (talk • contribs) 03:06, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Because NFL teams have to wait until 6PM too. This is not a negotiable topic. Everyone at WP:NFL is in agreement that this is the correct way to go about this. Eagles24/7(C)03:10, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
You so and everyone else in that NFL protection page are going to be going around and stopping everyone from changing even the smallest details until exactly 6 pm tomorrow? — Preceding unsigned comment added by OneBucPerson (talk • contribs) 03:19, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Hey I just went onto the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster page and almost everyone has a number, are those legit or did someone just fill them in, cause running backs can have any number lower than 20 or higher than 49.
In the offseason this is possible because there are so many players and not enough numbers. If I remember correctly, the Bucs usually give out single-digit numbers to any skill position players in the offseason. If they make the regular season roster, you'll see them change numbers. Eagles24/7(C)15:03, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I could really care less if I get banned, buddy! Regardless, my team pounded your team in the playoffs on their way to win the Super Bowl. BITTER MUCH? Oh well. Have a nice day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rkrizan (talk • contribs) 03:48, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I went through every team and got every UDFA I could find. Could you check for missing UDFAs and numbers later? RevanFan (talk) 06:32, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Brunell
He was reported as being released this morning, but when I saw this tweet from Jason LaCanfora, I reverted myself, believing he wasn't released, but now I'm doubting myself, haha. Thoughts?--Giants27(T|C)15:29, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Per multiple sources, he's signed and on his way to the Saints as Reggie's "replacement".[8][9][10] Given the recent history and protection I wanted to check with you first to see if there's some other reason for the reverts and protection. Thanks. --Arxiloxos (talk) 18:00, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
The reason for the reverts and protection is because he can't sign until 6 PM tonight, at which point it will be official and the page can be updated to reflect that.--Giants27(T|C)18:01, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
For your hard work at reverting pre-mature edits of free agents (etc.) since the lockout ended on Tuesday. Great job, Giants27(T|C)21:22, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Enjoy it. That secondary is going to be something else. Of course this just royally pissed off the Jets fan base and we pretty much want to destroy you guys on December 18, 2011. -- The Writer 2.0Talk22:42, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Seriously though congrats. I hope you guys win a Super Bowl with Nnam in the next few seasons if not this one. Zoro123404:16, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks and I truly think the Raiders are going to be better this year than the past five or more years. Good drafts, smart moves. Eagles24/7(C)04:18, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Word thanks. I'm optimistic. I was going to say guess we're even for Eric Allen now but he went to New Orleans first haha. I have to add that VY is the ultimate backup for Mike Vick. If Vick has to step out for a moment in game they won't have to drastically change the plan. Anyway, kudos and have a good weekend!Zoro123404:26, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
If VY gets the mental part down, I think he's an excellent acquisition. I find it strange that we now have three very mobile quarterbacks on the roster when Philly hasn't had many. You too, and I hope the Raiders make some more good moves this offseason. Eagles24/7(C)04:49, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
You all should be happy you're not Cowboys fans. We haven't signed anyone but UDFA scrubs yet. As much as I like UDFAs, this is getting a little tiresome. We could really use two safeties and a defensive lineman. Possibly a RG too. RevanFan (talk) 04:45, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
A decent defense and playoff wins. I don't care about the Super Bowl right now, just win a dang playoff game and don't have an embarrassing defense. Rob Ryan should help that, though. Who do you think we'll pick up to play free safety? Many say Huff, but I've been hearing a lot of negative things about him. RevanFan (talk) 04:56, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, we have defensive end taken care of. We re-signed Kenyon Coleman. It only took 5 years for him to come back. RevanFan (talk) 06:16, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
Could you possibly tweet one of the Cowboys writers (maybe @nickeatman or @dmn_george would be the best) and ask what number Tysson Poots is wearing? I asked in the live chat, but I'm not sure if I will get an answer. RevanFan (talk) 19:34, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. In the live chat, they don't answer to RevanFan (I guess they think it's Raven, not Revan.) I started using my first name instead, and i got a lot of numbers on day 1, but now they won't answer my questions. My questions don't even get posted on the ESPN chat, and I think they're ignoring me on the DallasNews chat. RevanFan (talk) 21:34, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Tell me if you get a reply to the tweets. They keep talking about him, but they never say his number. RevanFan (talk) 21:59, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
I just remembered that I might see his number tomorrow, as there is a Cowboy fan that goes to a lot of the practices and films them, but he might not do day 4, so I just have to be safe and use all options. RevanFan (talk) 22:45, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
The Cowboys writers respond to only about 1/4 of the tweets they receive. I don't know why. And to make it worse, the Cowboys webmaster (I think it's Derek Eagleton) takes a long time to update the roster page. You can find him on Twitter too, if you wanted to ask him. RevanFan (talk) 22:59, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
It might be a good idea for you to create a Twitter just to follow the Cowboys and other NFL-related news. You would certainly have a better chance of getting a reply from a Cowboys writer than I would, but of course you don't have to. Eagles24/7(C)23:02, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, for one, I don't like or understand how Twitter works, and two, my parents probably wouldn't let me on Twitter. My mom has an account though. Maybe I could ask her to do it? I don't know. I might just wait to see if the guy on YouTube posts a video of today's practice. RevanFan (talk) 23:18, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Unless you share a computer, not to encourage you to do this, but you should be able to hide any possible twitter usage by you from your parents, haha.--Giants27(T|C)23:29, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
Well, my mom has said I could get on her account and ask, but I turned down the opportunity. That was awhile ago. RevanFan (talk) 01:14, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
