Advice Needed once more

You made comments on the JaMarcus Russell talk page about a stupid edit war. Events have happened since. Please review them and consider follow up comments, before this rediculousness gets even more out of hand. RF23 (talk) 23:05, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

I've been reading the discussion, but you guys type so fast that I can't keep up. I'm going to cleanup the article in a few. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:13, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I keep making the same point on the talk page, and for some odd reason, it's not getting across to the other editors. I hope my last talk page post will clear up any confusion they might of had, and firmly reiterates my point about Wikipedia guidelines. Honestly though, I think this is blatant trolling, and a disruptive user arguing for the sake of arguing. This user has a history of not understandingpoliciesabout sources and basic concepts you need to understand to be able to write for an encyclopedia such as the difference between fact and opinion. I'm dumbfounded, and have been working hard not to got utter apeshit on this guy. I'm just going to not read the talk page anymore and hope something works. I think it would help if other, more established users could verify the things I'm saying on the talk page (things like "If you want it in there, you need a source" and other policies that every editor is bound to), because I have expressed to the best of my ability on that page. I don't see how I can make the point any clearer without it coming off as a personal attack. RF23 (talk) 00:38, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Re: Edit warring report

Thanks for the filing. That made that whole mess a lot easier for me to unravel and make a call on. The sockpuppet suspicion thing is a separate issue that belongs at WP:SPI, and a little more complicated, but the 3RR affair is fairly cut and dried. - Vianello (Talk) 03:08, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

No problem, that user has been a major headache the past month. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:14, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Message

Hi Eagles 247. You sent me message about sockpuppetry. I didn't understand your message. I never heard of Timmy Polo. (74.211.69.170 (talk) 01:02, 7 June 2010 (UTC)).

American Football League players

Hi: Can you tell me why a man who never played in the NFL and is no longer active should have his career categorized under the template "NFLactive"? Or, for that matter, why a FORMER NFL player should be categorized as "NFLactive"? This led to such errors as showing James Harris as number 12 in Detroit Lions' colors, which he never wore. - ???? SugnuSicilianu (talk) 22:51, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

and . . .

But Harris didn't wear #12 for the Lions, as implied. The Lords of Wikipedia will rule, but more Professional Football fans might contribute if it was the "Wikipedia Project: Pro Football", with templates "Pro Football active" and "Pro Football retired". Deletion of a perfectly valid article

Hi

Maybe you could help me

The article that I spent some time writing has been targeted by a group of editors determined to delete it for no valid reason. Hence, adding the speedy tag was a clear cut case of vandalism. Any neutral observer would agree.

Sir Francis Drake (not really!) (talk) 17:55, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Unfortunately, per the policy regarding removal of speedy deletion templates, the creator under any circumstance may not remove the speedy deletion tag. Eagles 24/7 (C) 17:57, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
That's just Wikilawyering. You do it then; it's clearly vandalism. Sir Francis Drake (not really!) (talk) 17:59, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
It looks like the article was deleted via AfD and therefore qualifies for that CSD tag. Take it to deletion review if you disagree with the outcome of the AfD. Eagles 24/7 (C) 18:01, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

AmiDock Images

Hey man, I'm creating a new article on AmiDock, and I was wondering where I can search for, and possibly obtain, images that fall in line with Wikipedias policies on copyright and the creative commons license. --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 17:15, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

It's a dock facility for Amiga computers. It provides the user with icons that they can click on to run applications (sort of like the start menu on a windows computer) --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 17:31, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Ok. Just out of interest, what sort of punishment or warning can I expect to get if an image I upload does'nt meet the policies you mentioned? --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 17:46, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith

I'm sorry I made you mad by reverting to the IP's edit. I was just trying to do it fast and I was gonna fix it later. RevanFan (talk) 20:19, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, I'm not mad. I was just letting you know via an edit summary. Try not to rush things here. Accuracy over agility is key to editing Wikipedia. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:31, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Better idea

For the whole switching infoboxes over, I have an idea. The nflactive one is doing more harm than good because people keep reverting it for retired players, as you've noticed. So, what I've done/what I'm doing is orphaned Template:Infobox NFL player and am putting the NFLactive box into that one. This way, we can just use the NFL player infobox as the one main one, which makes sense. Should help to move the combining along easier. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 22:12, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

I really like that idea. I thought NFLactive would eventually become NFL player after all the switching was done, but it makes a lot more sense to do it earlier. I'll go notify the other users involved in the process. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:18, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Certainly seems a lot simpler, I'll go help with switching it to Gridiron football person infobox...--Giants27(Contribs|WP:CFL) 22:31, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
All of them are removed now, so that template is fresh and ready for adding. I'll move the NFLactive players to NFL players through AWB at some point when I have time. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 22:52, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Alright, sounds good. Let me know if you need me to do anything. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:02, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

RfA

Thank you very much for your contribution to my Rfa. I have made a comment about it at User talk:JamesBWatson#Your Request for Adminship which you are, of course, very welcome to read if you wish to. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

AfD header

Eagles247, thanks for jumping in on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shannon Dawson. How did you add that AfD header? Is there a template for that? Jweiss11 (talk) 04:25, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

You can use {{afd2}}, but you should really follow the directions closely at WP:AFD#How to list pages for deletion so you can also add the discussion to Today's AfD log. Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:02, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for routing me back to WP:AFD. The directions indeed explain all. Jweiss11 (talk) 22:59, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
