Mardy BumHello. A friend who's other half works in music journalism says that they've been told Mardy Bum will be a future single, though not necessarily the next. Regards. Mjefm 23:52, 9 February 2006 (UTC) Kudos on that edit, I support it all the way! Robdurbar 00:06, 10 February 2006 (UTC) Hi - I was taking a look at Wikipedia:Most referenced articles and it said to ask you if you'd like something extra done. I've seen you're very busy with other things, so this can go bottom of your to-do pile, but I was wondering if you could do a new list for Jan '06, excluding US Census data... the latter skew results (IMO) unfairly. Sorry to be a pain,
== P:L pictures ==Hi Ham, Just thought I'd say thanks for your contributions to the Portal's showcase picture section - I like the gallery format you have introduced at Portal:London/Pictures/Wikipedia featured pictures. However, for some reason, the National Gallery image is not being shown... I don't really understand why - the HTML seems ok... perhaps you know better? Cheers,

See WP:FUC. I note you have been warned about this already. So treat this as a final warning. If you cannot follow the policy, then please do not put images in userboxes or userpages at all. Further violations may result in blocks. --Doc ask? 14:28, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Ericsson vs Sony-EricssonI'd reverted your edit [1]. S-E is independent company that just inherited part of name and the old Ericsson keeps part of its stock. If anythingm S-E would be rather part of a broad Ericsson category. The split happened because production of phones at Ericsson caused massive losses with even more bleak prospect for the future. Management and most of responsibility was given to Sony. Pavel Vozenilek 18:11, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
Recreation of deleted contentYou're free to use whatever content you wish in your own namespace, assuming it doesn't violate Wikipedia policies. However, note that user subpages which are intentionally transcluded as templates (see edit 39723996) are governed by the same provisions of Wikipedia policy that govern templates. As such, the userbox subpage templates you created will soon be deleted under criteria for speedy deletion G4 (recreation of deleted content) as well as the original deletion reasons. All instances of the templates will be substituted before deletion. This message will be crossposted to the administrator's noticeboard (incidents) if you'd like to comment. // Pathoschild (admin / talk) 22:08, 15 February 2006 (UTC) Signature nameHi Deano, I prefer to see user signatures which are identical or closely related to the real user name. Hi, You removed the link to the radio station WAVF from the Fix You page, saying tha that it was a minor station. However, WAVF was the sixth largest (of 24) radio station in Charlestown, a city with a metropolitan area populated by over half a million people, as of summer 2005. Why is it a minor station? New runway at MangaloreFrom what I last heard the new runway at Mangalore was supposed to be commisioned in April. But I do not know what the current status would be. When I travelled to Bombay last July, I could see (from the plane) that the new runway which is at an angle to the current runway was fully laid across a couple of hill tops. However the sides of the runway that fall between the hills (ie to say in the valley sections) had yet to be built up. Also I could not see any construction going on taxiways to join it to the current runway. The Airbus 319s that are now using the current runway belong to Kingfisher Airlines. From the press release it seems that this aircraft doesn't require the full length of the current runway at all;-) See Concreting of new runway at Bajpe airport completed PS: I have given my support to you. Typo on your user pageHmmm, did you leave out a "not" when you said "US copyright law annoys me, but that does justify its violation on Wikipedia." ? FreplySpang (talk) 17:06, 22 February 2006 (UTC) Good Laugh! :)Greetings, This has nothing to do with my weak oppose on your RfA (I'll be happy to support next time, as I said.) Having skimmed your political opinions, I find it amusing that you support the independence of Tibet and Kurdistan, but oppose (tongue-in-cheek, I hope) the American Rebellion. How adorable! :) Best wishes, Xoloz 18:23, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
(teary-eyed) Best wishes, Xoloz 18:44, 22 February 2006 (UTC) POV thingHello! Having voted for your RfA and read your user page, I thought I'd pop in and add my support to your views on the whole POV, NPOV, userbox thing. Your user page puts it very very well, and I hope people are persuaded by your arguments. Waggers 11:03, 23 February 2006 (UTC) Hey, thanks for the message. As it is, WP:SIG is only a guideline, and not a Wikipedia policy. It is, therefore, a reccomendation for conduct, but violation of these guidelines are not against Wikipedia policy...they're sort of just unwritten rules. Here's the section on images:
I'm in the second group there. I don't think the images in my sig really drag the server all that badly, and I think when people see the U.S. and German flags next to each other, they know better with whom they're dealing. Please feel free to respond in my talk page. Thanks, JHMM13 (T | C)
alter script on my user pageHi Cyde, Thanks for your alterations to my page... I have no idea what you were talking about when you explained it but I'm sure you're right. Just to check, can I {{subst:message}} and then alter the message as I had done previously? Or will this mess with the javascript thingy or whatever it is... Cheers, DJR (Talk) 23:23, 23 February 2006 (UTC) Yeah, you can subst message and edit it as you want. The problem with what you were previously using was that it was using the usermessage class which is specifically only supposed to be used for the "You have new messages..." display at the top of the screen. {{message}} is more flexible anyway ... you can subst it and then change the colors to your heart's desire, whereas the colors of the usermessage class are hardwired in. --Cyde Weys 23:25, 23 February 2006 (UTC) And for the same reason the link to your userbox thing isn't working. To me it displays as "You have userboxes (changes)", because it also uses the usermessage class. I'm not too worried though because this isn't really an essential functionality; being able to post new messages at the top of talk pages, however, is very useful. --Cyde Weys 23:26, 23 February 2006 (UTC) Award![]() Image:Easy.jpgWhy have you tagged this as public domain? It is clearly a copyrighted work. If you claim fair use, please make sure it is only used to illustrate its article, and not outside the main namespace (such as userboxes). ed g2s • talk 14:30, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
StuffHi Deano, hope you are well. I have added my support to your RfA. Some civility issues have been raised, and yes, you might have made one or two mistakes in the past, but you seem to have accepted this and moved on, as have those others involved. We all make mistakes, including administrators, but as long as people admit to them, I think that's fine. I don't see your userboxes as an issue at all, and I certainly don't think it's any reason to oppose someones RfA. I am sorry you have had to deal with so many opposes simply because of your userboxes. For the record, I'm not a particular userbox fan, to be honest I find them rather unsightly, and using a one-sentence statement that might have been written by someone else is probably not the best way to state your views on things. I do, however, think it's important that editors state any affiliations to particular points of view they might have, so others can take these into account when reviewing their contributions, and userboxes have become the easiest way of doing this. I also, as you state (on one of those userboxes), oppose the categorisation structure that groups editors of those points of view. If your RfA is not successful this time, that shouldn't discourage you from applying again in a few months. I have no doubt that your intentions are good, and if you take on board those comments from this discussion that you think are valid I think you will be successful next time. The userbox issue might have died down a bit by then too.. On other, unrelated (more important), matters, I think your idea of a List of Soccer AM guests(?) is a good one, but I'm not sure where we could find that information from a reliable source that would conform to Wikipedia standards. The Soccer AM World site lists guests for each show, but official sources might include TV guides (which would be a lot of work, and wouldn't include any guests that didn't turn up). I can't really think of anything else, seeing as this isn't detailed on the official site, maybe an e-mail to the show? We would need to establish the copyright status of any list that was obtained either directly or indirectly from Sky though. I've added the guests for this week, and amended the previous entry, to the temp page. What do you think of that change? The last two weeks' Soccerettes have slightly confused things. On another matter, I've have noticed that Bouncebackability has been deleted as a "repost of deleted content". I was going to bring this up with you anyway, because I saw that you did some work on this page. The article was originally deleted via Afd on 25 October 2005, but the main reason was that it was a dicdef. The article was recreated at some point, and I had it on my watchlist for a while (I was going to add a few bits, but then you said everything I would have done, so I left it). I don't believe this should have been speedy deleted as a repost, because, when I last saw the article, it clearly wasn't just a dicdef, but included other contextual information. I hadn't noticed the previous speedy deletion on 19 February 2006 (as CSD G4 by Cryptic (talk · contribs)). It was recreated after the original speedy deletion, but it should have gone to DRV really. I plan to take this to DRV, but I just wanted to make sure I've got my story straight (as I didn't actually see the original original deleted (via Afd) content). I am presuming the additions you made were not reposted pre-Afd text? Sorry, just thought I had to confirm with someone before I nominated it for undeletion. All the best mate. - Nzd (talk) 15:40, 25 February 2006 (UTC) Time to throw some stuff out there...One. I am disgusted by the way your RfA was denied by voters who blatantly ignored the RfA time rules. I truly hope you succeed on your re-run, on which I have voted support. Two. London is, indeed, the best city in the world. While I do not live there any more and I am usually otherwise engaged, I would be happy to help out where I can in the maintenance of the London Portal. Three. I love your userboxes. I can foresee a time when the EU becomes similar to the US in that its so-called "member states" will all simply become subservient states to it. In fact, we are all under EU law above national law anyway, and so this is similar to the US law system where state law is overridden by federal law. (And I don't want GB to have the same political status as Texas...) Four. What did you study at Pembroke? (Am considering applying to Oxbridge soon and am still relatively undecided about what to study or where my life is going) See you around. haz (user talk)e 21:24, 26 February 2006

Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/United Kingdom/University of OxfordHi, thanks for creating this catalog of templates for University of Oxford colleges. I've taken the liberty of moving it out of the main namespace (which is reserved for articles) to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/United Kingdom/University of Oxford. I've updated all links so that they point to the new location. --Tony Sidaway 00:02, 13 March 2006 (UTC) Image Tagging Image:GLAMap.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:GLAMap.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. When I uploaded this PNG file, I used the same copyright notice that was on the JPEG file it superseded. I'm not sure if that copyright applies any more as the shield has been around since the university was founded in 1900. What do you think? RupertMillard 22:38, 19 March 2006 (UTC) G'day there Djr_xi, I notice you've uploaded an image of the current ManU home shirt, and tagged it as GFDL. However, there's no source for the image.
