Speedy deletion of Image:Pm5544.png

NFPA 704 template

I just noticed that if one uses the "Other" hazards parameter in the template, it produces a different appearance of the code number in the graphic -- smaller and thinner than Health, Flammability and Reactivity. The latter three call for font-size: large;, while the former calls for font-size: small;. Was this an oversight? —Quicksilver^T @ 21:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flag image size

Do you think image sizes on articles should be changed for that reason? It may not affect anyone but you. Nanaimo, British Columbia

Thanks for expanding on my edit by including the call signs for the two tv stations currently broadcasting in Nanaimo. The links you placed are intuituve. However, the text you added is not quite accurate. Yes, both channels are carried locally on cable on the channels you mentioned. BUT, these signals are also BROADCAST on these frequencies. It is my opinion that it is an important distinction a new resident may want to watch local news and not have a cable service subscription. I intend to edit to clarify this fact. How can a boat run aground offshore???

Hi Denelson83, you asked the above question in an edit summary at BC Ferries. This is how it happens: the hull of the vessel hits the bottom while the vessel is still far from the shore. For example, if the ship has a draft of 20 ft, it will hit bottom (run aground) in anything less than 20 ft of water, which could be hundreds of feet (or even miles in some cases) from the shore. I think that nearly 100% of grounding accidents occur when a vessel is a considerable distance from any shoreline. The photo of Queen of Oak Bay clearly shows the vessel in the marina, but well offshore, and it was definitely stopped only by running into the mud on the bottom. I've removed the logo again. I'm not trying to be a dick and I personally think that WP:Fairuse section 9 sucks by its insistence that non-free images may not be used in template space, but it doesn't look like this policy is going to change anytime soon. On the contrary, Wikipedia is clamping down on the use of fair use images in general. WP:WSS has been criticised for a dozen or so similar cases before, so we're trying to avoid repetitions. 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Someone recently uploaded a much improved map: Image:HaidaGwaiiOMC.png. If you have no objections to the original's deletion, since you are the author and an admin I thought you might want to speedy it yourself to avoid clog at WP:IFD. SQL Slammer - possible correction

Denelson83, My apologies if I run afoul of any wikipedia etiquette as I am simply a casual user and not a content editor. This message is the first I have ever posted to this service.

I am reaching out to you for assistance in correcting what I believe to be an error on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL_Slammer. I see you have edited this page in the past so I thought you would be a person to contact. The article states the following: "Slammer was first brought to the attention of the public by Michael Bacarella." There is a Notes section later that sites Mr. Bacarella's post to Bugtrac as being first. I was surprised to see this as I was under the impression that I was the first to alert the public via the microsoft.public.sqlserver.security newsgroup nearly two hours earlier (6:27:10 UTC). Here is a link to the first post I made where I said that this appeared to be a worm taking advantage of the security vulnerability in Microsoft article MS02-039: http://www.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/microsoft.public.sqlserver.security/2003-01/4612.html. As I am not an experienced editor on Wikipedia and do not want to do anything wrong. I guess I would first ask if you agree with me that the article is in error. Second, if it is in error can you assist me in setting the record straight?
