Acquanetta biography projectCosmicPenguin: I read your exchange with the editors with interest regarding Aquanetta's background. I am a historian and have been considering a possible biogrpahical project about her in light of the points you raised. Do you think the family would oppose or cooperate in such an endeavor? Thanks. BankVeto (talk) 23:21, 15 July 2009 (UTC) Hi Cosmic, Please don't remove [sic] templates, as you did here. Your edit summary, "Actually, the mispelling is in direct quote, so it works" contradicts the use of [sic]. [sic] lets readers know that the mistake is that of the original source, not Wikipedia. Removing the [sic] means that it's more likely that some editor will "correct" the spelling, which is undesirable in a direct quote. Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 04:25, 23 July 2009 (UTC) Invitation to participate in SecurePoll feedback and workshopAs you participated in the recent Audit Subcommittee election, or in one of two requests for comment that relate to the use of SecurePoll for elections on this project, you are invited to participate in the SecurePoll feedback and workshop. Yancey's Wyoming Merge ProposalUser:CosmicPenguin and User:Nyttend. In late 2008 CP nominated Yanceys, Wyoming for deletion. Nyttend, you opposed that deletion and the article was kept. In my on-going efforts to expand articles related to Yellowstone, I have created an article John F. Yancey which seems to me to be a more appropriate approach than Yanceys, Wyoming. As such, I have proposed that Yanceys, Wyoming be merged into John F. Yancey. Do you all concur?--Mike Cline (talk) 17:26, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Yellowstone NAVBOX initiativeI have been toying with the idea of creating a series of Yellowstone specific navigation templates to be used on the now almost 200 articles directly or indirectly related to Yellowstone National Park. My first attempt is at: User talk:Mike Cline/Articles Under Contemplation/Template:Upper Geyser Basin. My vision is that there would be a series of templates that would organize all Yellowstone articles either by broad subject matter (Wildlife, etc.) or by locale (Upper Geyser Basin) as appropriate. Eventually, every Yellowstone article would include an appropriate NAVBOX template. Let me know your thoughts, as this is my first navbox template, any suggestions or advice. Thanks.--Mike Cline (talk) 21:04, 17 December 2009 (UTC) Please see my comment on the talk page about the Requested Move. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:49, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Deleted Edit -Link to Alumni Class PageI'm not sure why you deleted the link to the Class of 68 page on the NCHS page. It does not appear to violate the guidelines for external links and is based on similar links found on other high school pages on wikipedia. See Everett High School(Washington). Assistance requestedI need some help. Somebody doesn't think Abraham Lincoln is relevant to the American Old West, and wants him removed from the category. Could you go to my talk page and give me a little backup? I've been under a lot of Wikistress lately, and I would appreciate the help. Thanks! Your infobox used deprecated parameter names. In the near future the template is to be updated and the old parameter names will no longer work. I updated the template for you. I hope that was OK. –droll [chat] 19:31, 20 October 2010 (UTC) Merry ChristmasThe UtahraptorTalk/Contribs has given you a Christmas tree! The name was taken from Sundance Mountain. The town is located at the foot of it. There is often repeated folk lore that Native Americans practiced their sun dance rituals on the mountain, but there does not seem to be anything of substance to support that rather romantic (to some, at least) view. An article in the May 28, 1934 issue of the local newspaper, The Sundance Times, reported that an "Indian Agent" from Lame Deer, Montana, passing through Sundance with "a number of old Indian Chiefs" on their way to a Tribal Council, said the mountain was so named by the Native Americans in the area because it looked like the tepee used during sun dances. According to the Agent, the Native Americans never held any sun dances on the mountain or in the immediate vicinity of it. I've noticed that the stub templates have been proposed for rename ... no problem, but the stub categories have also been nominated for deletion. Could I get your help to oppose the category deletions (here: Wikipedia:Stub_types_for_deletion/Log/2011/February/15) --Hutcher (talk) 17:22, 21 February 2011 (UTC) September 2011 Newsletter for WikiProject United StatesThe September 2011 issue of the WikiProject United States newsletter has been published. From Zacho GilmanYou have a point, but the article is about Cheyenne, not its histpry. But I decided to let that go. I also added a "tallest building ranking tanle" to express Cheyenne's buildings and towers that is citated. By the way, could you tell "RedpenofDoom" that last part? 😎 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.45.128.124 (talk) 02:19, 15 September 2015 (UTC) Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge
