Yes, I reviewed it. I also search for reliable secondary independent sources to establish notability for it. I was not able to find any. Kind request. Please do not let Dragonbooster4's behaviour make you slam on Meher Baba's articles. You can do much harm to a very harmless group of articles if you like and find all the mud you can to pour on top of them. However, for some like me God Speaks is a philosophy, a book of wisdom, not connected to any notion of cult. I was following the advice of WP:BB, as I spent a good deal of time researching and reading reliable secondary sources on the topic, and after my careful work have concluded that the bulk of coverage regarding him did not adhere to a neutral point of view. To include "Cult Leader" in every article that mentions the man is gratuitous POV editing, and you are looking less and less like a neutral editor, and more and more like a disruptive, agenda-driven vandal. But for now, as noted above, I'm going to step away from the articles, as it is clear there are some editors who are quite passionate about defending them, and it is not a good use of energy on my part to engage if other editors are just reverting and attempting to make claims about edit warring (which I have not engaged in) without discussing the merits of bringing an alternative view.ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 23:08, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Mike Dover article

Hey there ConcernedVancoverite, I have to say, I'm a bit taken aback by this entire process. I'm the first to admit that I don't know the ins and outs of wikipedia, but I never expected to have contributions greeted with what, from my perspective and correct me if I'm wrong, such hostility. On your talk page it says to assume good faith, which I always try to do in my (admittedly) limited interactions with the site. It was my understanding that the same assumption would be made towards the edits I contribute, I try to keep in-line with that expectation. Full disclosure, I do know Mike: I worked with him five years ago at a think tank. It's been great to see his writing and speaking career take off and his rise to prominence in the Canadian business world. I wanted to document it. In response to this, right off the bat you accused me of violating wikipedia rules by one-upping my edit with a second account, citing an obscure (and frankly, logically weak) DUCK rule. In response to that, I cleaned up the article and added more sources, as you had suggested, in order to mitigate your concerns. That it seems, despite being what was requested, was not sufficient, and you escalated your charge, saying that even the new sources were not sufficient. I admit I don't fully understand how Wikipedia classifies primary sources versus secondary ones, but the lines I was supporting were factual statements. Has Mike been on TV? Yes, here's a TV clip that shows him on CBC. So far as I can tell that's writing a factual statement with evidence. I'm not able to understand how it's objectionable. You' then continued to go after other pages I've created. I'm trying to do good by an old colleague, Wikipedia, and the internet at large, but it seems as though I'm being vilified. I'm trying very hard to assume good faith here. Please help me understand your perspective. I'm hoping that together we can make this an outstanding article. Thank you for openly admitting your conflict of interest with the article in question. I strongly encourage you to read the Wikipedia guidelines on such conflicts of interest so that you can learn more about how to make contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding factual statements, it is quite important that any statements made, particularly about people who are living are verifiable in reliable secondary sources. The bulk of the claims you have added are either based upon original research due to your personal knowledge that is available to you through your conflict, or what is called primary research directly synthesizing primary sources without having the claims made by secondary sources. I encourage you to read over all of the links you have been provided with both on the page, the various talk pages, and in this response, prior to making any more edits to articles for which you have a stated conflict of interest in. ROH Death Before Dishonor

Hi ConcernedVancouverite, just to let you know that I have removed the speedy deletion template from ROH Death Before Dishonor as a non-admin because it was an event, events do not normally fall under A7. While the last 3 editions were apparently broadcast online, others were apparently not (accepting the article text in good faith), so it cannot be said to be purely web content. Changed CSD criteria on Shamanic Astrology

Managed Print Services

Seriously??? I feel like you are trying to frustrate me into giving up on this! Each of the other companies on the site have website links following them...every one of them but apparently it's now inappropriate when I do the same? This is supposed to be an open forum and I don't believe my edits are anything other than completely factual and exactly in line with what the other contributors have put up. It is a fact that Fulton Francis Consulting have been in the Managed Print Services market for over 12 years and we have presence in USA, UK, Sweden, Singapore, Australia & New Zealand. I'm not proclaiming on wiki that we are the only ones, the best or anything else that would be unreasonable in this forum. I have simply noted that Fulton Francis operate in those markets and added a link to our page as per the other independent companies. I have also noted that Newfield IT were purchased by Xerox so hardly entitled to be in the 'independent' category. I would have thought if there was so much interest in maintaining this page and keeping it accurate that you would have updated the Newfield IT since their acquisition in May - http://news.xerox.com/pr/xerox/xerox-acquires-newfield-it-expands-managed-print-services.aspx Bfrancis73 (talk) 20:55, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Generally if a company does not have enough notability to have an article on Wikipedia it is not appropriate to provide an external link to it in such a list. Regarding the other links, I would like to refer you to WP:OTHERSTUFF regarding this. But if you find other companies which are linked inappropriately, please go ahead and delete such links - even though that is a separate issue. I think you should reconsider your speedy deletion request for article Lawrence Kennedy. It is clearly notable. Please focus your efforts on articles without references. The organization he is president of has several thousand churches globally. Also being a member of the strategic board is inherently notable, not inherited as you claim. A1 ERP Verticals removal

This is what used to be on the A1 ERP page: [4] and all I did was to include some details that had been missed out before, this resulted in my edit been removed and even the content that had been there before for a long time was also removed: [5]. If my edit was wrong then I believe that all you ConcernedVancouverite should have removed was the new additional content and should not have removed the content that had been on that page previously.

Another slight issue I would like to raise is you ConcernedVancouverite state that I was including excessive product details thus making it look like its promotional material on A1 ERP, what I would request you ConcernedVancouverite and other editors to look into is a page like this one: [6], they do have alot of content and if this is okay as per your standards, kindly let me know why A1 ERP cannot have the same. Please remove the speedy tag

...which you placed on Paul Banks, Icon in Homer. This is not an "implausible typo" this is what SHOULD have been left behind when I moved the article; I accidentally moved without redir, and the redir in place now is my fix. The author of the page will NOT be able to find his article to edit and improve; and several discussions will be left orphaned, without this redirect. Adam Schuck

Contested deletion of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Schuck This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Schuck is indeed a global leader in the tech community. Schuck has had the same impact to the technology world as someone like Lars Rasmussen, the software developer - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lars_Rasmussen_(software_developer), as Schuck co-created Google Wave, created and mapplets and was part of the 5 founding team members (Ori Allon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ori_Allon included) which sold Julpan to Twitter in just over a year in September 2011. Having taken out the "advertising jargon", it is of opinion that Schuck's page is of notoriety and and contributes to Wikipedia. I don't think there is references containing original research or a large bias. If there is, please inform me and I will correct them. Please reinstate Schuck's page as a suitable Wikipedia page. Schuck "compelled and manoeuvred the technology to what is became", it means, not "created" the technology. Schuck received the Google EMG award (2nd highest award given at Google) for work on Google Maps API.[6][unreliable source?] I will try find a “more” reliable source, but I have first hand seen the EMG award on his desk at Google Sydney and Lars Rusmessan, creator of Google Maps and software developer at Google can confirm that. I think perhaps you may be tagging for deletion a bit too quickly. This one, for example, you tagged two minutes after it had been created. Unless the creator is pretty wiki-savvy, adding in references and shaping the article can take a little time. When I used to new page patrol (which I guess is what you do), I'd really only be looking for obvious vandalism, attack pages and the like. I'd leave notability checks for a few pages into the list (or the back, as it was huge back then), which gives the article time to stabilise. Jeff Bowling & Never Quit, Never Fail Tour

Hi - Happy Friday! I saw your recommendation to delete two articles I posted this morning. I'm not exactly sure why they are being recommended to be deleted. The Jeff Bowling article is similar to what you see in Wikipedia for other notable entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates or Thomas Kinkaid. The tour is involving business leaders across the nation (and currently expanding to Japan) and is starting in universities. Both have national and interational impact. The articles have both been deleted as they were deemed to be too promotional in nature for a Wikipedia article. I am unable to see the articles anymore, but as I recall the sources cited were mostly Press releases and direct information from the subject's of the article. So a few ways forward for you: 1) You should read over WP:COI in case you have a conflict of interest with the subject matters so you can understand how best to interact with the community. 2) If you work on creating a draft of the articles once again, I encourage you to thoroughly source any claims using reliable sources. You can click the words "reliable sources" in the previous sentence to get more information about what that means for Wikipedia. Best of luck with your editing. Wildlife Acoustics and my Wikipedia username

Maybe I should have chosen the user name 'ConcernedSeattlite' .... I am indeed not part of some collection of user names/ accounts suspected of being 'socks' for Wildlife Acoustics.' I am a Pacific Northwest bat biologist who specializes in bio-acoustic methods for the study of bats. Although I have edited a few Wikipedia pages over the past few years (logged with my IP) I decided to create an ID/account for the round of comments regarding Wildlife Acoustics -- specifically to have a more transparent presence on Wikipedia, and to take benefit of notifications, etc.

Advice requested for newbie wikipedia user re conflict of interests

Dear ConcernedVancouverite, ianagranat here from Wildlife Acoustics. Thanks for bringing the conflict of interest issue to my attention - I am new to Wikipedia (well, of course I have used and relied on it for many years, but new on the contribution side as of days ago). Would you recommend I add anything to the deletion discussion disclosing my affiliation? (I added this to my user page if it wasn't previously obvious in context). I am trying to play by the rules but am not yet familiar with them. I thought it important to point out references to articles that may have been difficult for editors to find if they did not know where to look and I believe I have done so in a balanced and unbiased way. As a frequent user of Wikipedia, I do appreciate your good intentions. The behind-the-scenes mechanisms were not previously known to me but I am growing to appreciate how well they work in maintaining Wikipedia content at the highest standards of accuracy and relevance, and I know this would not be possible without the hard work of yourself and other editors to keep us all honest. I certainly have a personal interest in keeping the page that was created on our behalf, but will ultimately respect the decisions of the editors in this regard. Any advice you have to offer on my conduct thus far or anything else I should be doing is greatly appreciated. If I don't hear otherwise, I don't plan to say anything more on the subject. I did note that the "bioacoustics" article doesn't have an expert project assigned, so it was difficult to solicit those authors who may have unbiased expert opinions on our notability with expert-topic. I can tell you that within the circles of bat biologist researchers and many amphibian researchers, we have provided instrumentation that enabled them to conduct studies that would not have been possible otherwise, and on those grounds, would like to think that we are notable to them. Additionally, our recent emergence in the bat monitorning market with more current technology has really turned the bat-detector market on its head given our two largest competitors have been over-charging customers with 20-year-old technology for a very long time. Our existance has really changed the landscape in recent years, and that's why there are going to be several talks and workshops at next-week's North American Symposium for Bat Research in Toronto (http://www.nasbr.org/meetings/41_toronto/) presenting several different and independent studies conducted by university researchers comparing our solution to others. (There was no point to undertake such comparisons until we came along with something significant, and again, I believe that makes us notable). Generally the best way to participate, if you feel the need to contribute to the article in which you have a conflict of interest, is to read over WP:COI and then instead of making edits directly to the article in question, suggest changes on the article's talk page and allow a non-conflicted editor to work through those changes if they feel they are appropriate. In terms of bringing your expertise to help Wikipedia overall, it would be wonderful if you contributed to articles that you do have expertise on, which you do not have a direct conflict of interest with. NewField IT

Hi I notice you have merged NewField IT in the the Xerox website. Whilst you have made some valid points I think you have been rather agressive with you approach to this article without giving good reasons for your actions. NewField IT is an independently operated company that is influential in the Managed Print Services market and is notable through the wide referencing across this industry. It should not be merged with the main Xerox article. You have issued me a warning for citing press releases - only one of the references cited of three was a press release and this was from a third party, a notable comapny, who was announcing the point required from the citation. The wiki rules do not state that press releases are NOT reliable but that they may not be reliable. The context must be taken into account. I therefore removed tags that had been placed for the right reasons.

You also deleted a recent award based on the basis that this was not notable. How can an award that was presented by a Sectetary of State and another member of parliament and sponsored by the National Physical Laboratory not be notable. All extremely notable.

I feel that my taking a different view to you has resulted in you unlilateral deleting a valid page. If you have problems with an article you should write considered comments and allow editors to correct items. Please explain you actions. Thank you for your note. Press releases are not reliable sources to establish notability regardless of who issues the press release. If what is announced in the press release is notable you will be able to find reliable third party independent non-press release sources. While it sounds like you are very passionate about NewField IT and its industry, you have yet to provide reliable sources to establish the company's notability. If they are notable, please do provide reliable third party sources to establish notability claims. If you can not provide those, then it is just a subsidiary of a large notable company and can be mentioned on their primary page. Regarding the award, they did not win the award - they received a runners up position for a single category of a multi-category award ceremony, and I could find no reliable sources mentioning that they received such an award. The only citation provided was an original source from the awards ceremony. For it to be considered notable for Wikipedia standards such a runner up award would need to be reported in independent reliable sources. Please provide the citations on the article's talk page if you can locate them, which should be readily available if it is truly notable. The page has not been deleted, it has been merged into the parent company's article until reliable sourcing can be provided to establish notability warranting a separate article. Please provide some, and we can look at establishing a separate article. If you have any questions about sources, feel free to ask - prior to just reincluding them as you are still getting acquainted with Wikipedia standards and I'd like to help you understand them best as possible. Dear ConcernedVancouverite, I actually deleted the notability note on purpose thinking that enough secondary sources and references had been provided for this item in the end, and that the concerns expressed in the note didn't mirror the present situation any longer. I am sorry for apparently misjudging the facts. May I draw your attention to the following point, though? Checking the standards of some of the other digital libraries items, it seems to me that Aquatic Commons fits quite well among them, as far as notability and accountability are concerned. I have. I do not see it as a reliable source, as it is a website that doesn't have the notability to have its own Wikipedia article. If it were a reliable source, there would be enough reliable sources about it that it would have an article on Wikipedia. It appears to just be a personal website. Article deletion

Hi Mike. I did not delete the article. I simply tagged it to be considered for speedy deletion by an administrator for the reasons I specified in my notice to you on your talk page here [14]. Apparently an administrator agreed and decided to delete it. Generally clubs need to have significant reliable source coverage to establish notability. Fake Uzbek Wikipedia

Hi! The Uzbek wiki has been blocked by the repressive Uzbek government in Uzbekistan. I recently wrote an article (in Uzbek) in RFE/RL about it. Today I noticed that there's a fake Uzbek Wikipedia which is obviously supported by authorities and doesn't have any material critical of the despotic government of Islam Karimov. Instead, it's full of biased material. On its main page it is written that this fake Wiki is a "mirror" of the Uzbek Wikipedia. I appreciate the context of the user's edits here, but giving them a final warning for spamming seems a bit off, when all they were trying to do (I'd say in good faith) was add a source in response to the AfD which had asked for one. I agree that it looks like it might be a non-expert blog, and it's a mediocre regurgitated press-release at best, but source quality hadn't been previously explained to the editor - loudly threatening to outright ban an article's creator if they get their next source wrong is not a very healthy way to progress an AfD. --McGeddon (talk) 00:39, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

I've significantly changed the Make Justice Work Article I wrote last night and added numerous additional sources, including direct references to the report in the form of questions in the house of commons and house of lords.

I notice I have been cited for spamming again (why a link to the subject of the page's website, or their noted ambassadors is spam is beyond me), please note that the Law Society Gazette is the paper of record for the Uk's Law Society, a professional body representing all solicitors in England and Wales and is therefore an authoritative source. You can view it's wiki here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Law_Society_Gazette and for the Law Society here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_Society_of_England_and_Wales.

I also note that you have listed a reference to the Wales Probation Trust as unreliable, this organisation is a statutory body within uk law, part of the National Probation Service, operates on a government domain, and the page it is published on is clearly labelled news - please remove this as you appear to have made an incorrect assumption about it's veracity.

Based on the updates I would politely ask you to remove the AfD, unreliable source citation, and original research citation - I did not make any reference on the page to the reports findings, conclusions or evidence, simply linked it's existence which on it's face is perfectly acceptable within the guidelines.

I also have explicit permission to use the MJW logo and ask you to withdraw your speedy deletion request for that too. I really don't understand the position you have taken on this page and it's contents, there are numerous articles for other criminal justice campaign organisations and the celebrities which support them on wiki, and few have the impact MJW has. I would like to get on and write about community sentences in the UK and the new justice bill. This will be an impossible task without reference to MJW and it's report. Hi ConcernedVancouverite, I appreciate your concerns you expressed in my Talk Kat4PR (talk) today. It's never been my intention to provide a bias view when writing an article. I always try to provide a balanced view and I always make my entries informative with a neutral point of view. Regarding my Henry Jackson (businessman), it doesn't feel to be fair that you've now taken down most on an entry that I only revised so that it was grammatically correct and that it had correct information and references. You say in your edits that the information was "overdetailed content not about article subject - if notable then would be potential content for article on company" - have you seen the article the way it was before I made the edits? It was very detailed already. You have also deleted the history of my (talk) where I always post new articles for a review from the moderators. I hope you don't mind but I intend to undo this action of yours, because it is something that should stay there. I hope you agree. If you are referring to the link to a copy of an article on facebook, generally reproductions on social media are not reliable sources, as they could have been edited. I included newspapers articles from the top three newspaper here, also the link for the movie "Pedro" (MTV) and other links that shows part of his acting career like the links to "Tainos" (film). Look, it might have been an obscure organisation/organization to you and I, but I think that anything that is founded in the year 1846, or thereabouts, I believe, its ancientness and venerability themselves alone mean that it cannot really be accused of not being notable, especially for a religious organisation/organization. But look, I am not a churchman, and my time is also not unlimited, and I am not sure that I can do much here; and what was your objection to the use of the Catholic Encyclop(a)edia, if any, if I may ask? The notability requirements on Wikipedia are fairly clear. Non-reliable sourced articles require citations. Ref improve tags are perfectly valid until such citations are added. I would suggest you take the advice of the editors working the AfC boards. They generally know what they are doing in terms of helping to get truly notable subjects to the point of having appropriate articles. I generally monitor articles that are added to Wikipedia in a variety of fields. When they are poorly cited I either tag them or nominate them for deletion as appropriate. It appears a lot of your editing work lacks reliable source citations, and as such has been tagged. I do strongly encourage you to read the sections on reliable sourcing that you have been referred to multiple times. Your recent edits still do not seem to demonstrate an understanding of what an independent reliable seconday source inline citation is.
