Thanks for the welcome, though as you probably saw, I have been consistently making edits for almost a year now :) I definitely do enjoy it, though often lacking the time to do so.Codehydro (talk) 20:26, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fairfield University Barnstar
Thanks for the Barnstar Codehydro! I've enjoyed creating the Fairfield University articles and hope you can help out writing about our alma mater. And perhaps you can help me figure out the image copyrights as I am growing weary of the constant deletions of my images by various Wikipedians despite my obtaining permissions. Looks forward to reading your contributions! Stagophile (talk) 00:20, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A tag has been placed on List of minor Avatar: The Last Airbender characters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Timneu22 ·talk17:25, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps instead of deleting, there should be merged with the main article for the Iris N Spencer awards? Though relatively minor compared the Donald Justice Prize, they are worth noting and the money they reward is not trivial. Less hurry to delete, especially when merging is probably the better solution ;) ---CodeHydro15:49, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A tag has been placed on List of minor Avatar: The Last Airbender characters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Parent5446☯(msgemail)16:25, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As reviewing administrator, I didn't delete it because we interpret the G4 criterion pretty literally,, but I am pretty certain on the basis of recent experience that it will be deleted when taken to AfD, as it surely will. The only real hope is if you can find third party references of some sort discussing some of the material. As you are the principal author, you can either request userifying as explained above, or withdraw the article by placing a {{db-author}} tag on it. DGG ( talk ) 01:45, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the tip and for giving the article a chance, twice. I discovered an excellent resource for third-party sources are episode reviews by third parties and have managed to reference a fair amount of it that way. So perhaps this article may have a real chance now :) Actually, I haven't seen much of Avatar myself, but I saw somebody else put a lot of work into compiling the list, but hasty deleters didn't really give it a chance to be edited. Though most of it was infringement, I just felt compelled to save it and fortunately I did find that a significant fraction of it was actually more or less original writing.---CodeHydro02:28, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mysterious Message in Sinhala(?)
Hello, Codehydro. You have new messages at Chanakal's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Thanks, and it's okay, editing conflicts are inevitable. I sometimes forget the 10-minutes after last edit by author rule for new pages too. Anyhow, the page now has more secondary sources than most literary journals on Wikipedia ;) ---CodeHydro21:45, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
