Biassed Edit

Certes, why do you delete some external links and do not delete other links? I'm refering to your latest UNDO on Yellow Pages. For some reason you think http://www.worldgreenpages.com/ is ok, but the one you removed is not. I removed cyclopages because I have Yellow Pages on my watchlist and saw the new addition. Thank you for noticing worldgreenpages. I did not see that older link, and I agree that we should remove it too. I did not mean to favour one directory over another; I think my edit was incomplete rather than biassed. Image 111USHouseStructure

Good Day! All I can really say about File:111USHouseStructure.png and it's US Senate counterpart File:111th United States Senate Structure.svg (already converted into SVG) is that it's kind of a pain to keep up, especially in a new Congress. My view is that it's going to be even worse trying to keep up an SVG file; but that might just be because I don't understand the format myself. Other than this, I'd try to coordinate the Senate and House colours between Democrats and Republicans (when i last looked Senate Democrats were in a darker blue) so it'll look nice on United States Congress and I'd also try to match the font as close as possible with the original, because it's a logo, taken directly from a Congressional letterhead. I realize that it will be hard to do a direct conversion but Gage from the Commons looks to have done a decent job with the Senate image.

Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Zobel network

Nice job updating my tacky early Wiki-career artwork, but the component symbol you are using has an aspect ratio that is too stretched. Compare File:Zobel (3) Bridge T.svg for instance with File:Electrical symbols library.svg, the Wikiproject electronics master template. SpinningSpark 22:28, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Zobel plots

You are very welcome. The template is best used in infoboxes - see {{Location Map}} for similar uses. At the moment it only does National Highways, so you may need to create a new road type by making Template:Road Marker IN something and a suitable blank sign. Tunisian names

It's been more than a year since I found that source. I don't remember any longer what was on it. It's possible that additional names have been added and haven't been reverted since that time by other posters. This is a hard list to keep from being vandalized. Interracial laws map

I have added a new graphic File:Trading card game.svg based on the one you provided, added it to Wikipedia:Trading card game/Userbox and created category Category:Wikipedia Trading card game members. I've replaced the logo at the top of Wikipedia:Trading card game and advertised the userbox at the bottom. There's an example of the userbox on my home page User:Certes (bottom right of userbox block). I realise that the grey sphere and W only vaguely resemble the Wikipedia logos. Please improve them (bearing in mind the low resolution in a userbox) if you're comfortable negotiating your way round the Foundation's heavy copyright and trademark protection. Lifetime

You can check instructions in {{Lifetime}} and the discussion in Template talk:Lifetime. More specifically, there was a long discussion in September in the section Template_talk:Lifetime#Smackbot_is_replacing_template:Lifetime which ended with the Template_talk:Lifetime#Okay.2C_You_Win some weeks later. Additionally, both Yobot and SmaBot got approved from BAG to replace Lifetime. Yobot's one can be found in Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/Yobot_8. That looks better to me, but I've not welded anything since I left school. The hose passes through a dome on top of the workbench; if it's supposed to be that way then I don't see how we can improve things much further. That's a good group of templates: simple but effective. How about the versions in User:Certes/Sandbox? They use the colours from the gradient on the barnstar and top panel (they're the same). The template's background is halfway between the lightest part of the barnstar and white, and its border and text are halfway between the darkest part of the barnstar and black. To use this in your templates, just change the three colours on your top line to #584010 #e0e0a0 #584010 (CE gold) or #404040 #e0e0e0 #404040 (N silver). Certes (talk) 10:34, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

New editors' lack of understanding of Wikipedia processes has resulted in thousands of BLPs being created over the last few years that do not meet BLP requirements. We are currently seeking constructive proposals on how to help newcomers better understand what is expected, and how to improve some 48,000 articles about living people as created by those 17,500 editors, through our proper cleanup, expansion, and sourcing.

I'm seeking to revive/speed up the process of making the card game. Seeing that you have commented about getting on with the project (and that you are author of rules proposal 5), I thought you might be interested to know that I've devised a (very rough) action plan and am thinking of ways to advertise the project; your help would be very appreciated. Thanks. That looks like a good plan. My main comment is that some of phases 2-5 can be carried out in parallel once we have decided which rule set to adopt. However, I have a couple of concerns. Firstly, are there enough interested editors with the right skills to complete the project? Secondly, is there any real prospect of our end product being approved at a high enough level to allow use of the Wikipedia trademarks? Certes (talk) 02:03, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Regarding the first point, Jéské Couriano had contacted a card template developer to develope/help develope a program to aid us in card creation [1]. He agreed to help once the rules were defined, and I reckon he has experience in TCGs and card creation. Also, for instance, remember that Pretzels designed an example card using article styles (File:TCGRollbacker.png) which looks quite good; this shows that there are a couple of users skilled in design and stuff that could certainly help. As for your second point, this perhaps is a bit tricky. Items at the Wikipedia cafepress store were designed by wikimedians; but I'm not sure if cafepress allows for something as specefic as cards. Hopefully once the game is finished the Signpost or something will draw attention to the finished game, and somehow we'll get the cards to be actually printed. ♠TomasBat 03:31, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

I hope you can understand why some moderate editors like i, are pushing for an acceptable compromise because we know which direction a majority of arbitrators, 5 or more of them (the majority is 5 votes in ArbCom ruling), are leaning to and clearly we don't want ArbCom to have the final word in the BLP issue if a compromise isn't reached. Last thing, i would like to leave a proof that as an editor participating to the BLP debate i'm not just talk see here that also explains why i tag myself as a moderate in the debate. --KrebMarkt 21:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I can see you're being moderate and helpful, part of the solution rather than the problem. If there were more like you around then maybe I'd still care about Wikipedia as passionately as I did a few weeks ago. However, I'm no longer too bothered; if the rules change in ways I find unacceptable then I'll quietly stop editing and spend my time where it's more appreciated. BLP discussion

Hi Certes/Archive 1! If there is any consensus at at all, it is that the entire discussion has become a tangled confusion, and as a result both proponents and opponents of the issues under discussion are abandoning ship. None of us want this. It is still not clear which way consensus will fall and your contributions to the discussion are invaluable. However, In an attempt to keep the policy discussion on an even track, some users have decided to start the ball rolling for clarity by creating a special workshop pages. The first of these is for the technical development of a template at WT:BLP PROD TPL in case policy is decided for it . The taskforce pages are designed keep irrelevant stuff off the policy discussion and talk page, and help a few of us to move this whole debate towards a decision of some kind or another. The pages will be linked in a way that watchers will still find their way to them. This move is not intended to influence any policy whatsoever; It is to keep the discussion pages focussed on the separate issues. Cheers. --Kudpung (talk) 23:31, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I've taken time out to consider what's going on here. Although there's no consensus, a majority have agreed to move, within the broad limits of the existing written policies, from an approach I supported to one I oppose. I'm not going to disrupt the process, but nor will I volunteer to implement changes I disagree with. Bullying, deletion threats and arbitrary deadlines mean that I no longer find these activities rewarding.
