User talk:Camptown/Archive 2DYK of 2007 Balad aircraft crashHi, you suggested I should expand the above article if I wanted it to make it to DYK. I have done some work on it, what do you think now? I removed Hurricane Bob after a user informed me that the article was already significant (it was around 7KB, definitely not a stub) nearly a month ago, and the significant expansion this week would not qualify it for DYK. In the future, please look at the article history to make sure a user did not mistakenly nominate an ineligible item for DYK. Nishkid64 19:29, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it looks good. Trust your own judgement! I'm just a noob. Shaundakulbara 22:33, 30 January 2007 (UTC) The hook is kind of ambiguous though. "Considered" is kind of a weasle word. What about:

But unfortunately - I'm afraid - too old for WP:DYK... according to these rules. And there doesn't seem to be much room for derogation right now. Please, keep ut the good work anyway! --Camptown 23:07, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Cathedral DYKI already responded at WPT:DYK and left a note on the user's talk page about thirty minutes. DYK rules require that the articles be no more than 5 days old. Many articles did not get featured from Jan 28 and Jan 29 due to the long list and infrequent updating. — ERcheck (talk) 21:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Did you know?-- Nice find! GeeJo (t)⁄(c) • 23:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC) Thanks for uploading Image:Andrew-Fire.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (Ditto for Craig Mello. These images are nice, but they're just portraits; they don't show anything irreplaceable about their winning the Nobel.) Opabinia regalis 01:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC) Kārlis ZāleHi. I noticed that you added some cats to this article. Please take a look at this (Defaultsort) - it saves a lot of time with cats, and in fact was already on the Kārlis Zāle article. To me it seems extremely POV, but I would not like to revert any of his changes because of a dispute with him: Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Vlad_fedorov. BTW, you returned the Yipsi Moreno article to the Suggestions page (March 7) on the grounds that it needed to be reviewed. I did review it, and returned it to the next update in place of newer articles. After checking the preview, the DYK column was too long, so I returned two to the top fothe March 8 section. — ERcheck (talk) 13:47, 11 March 2007 (UTC) Hello. Would you perhaps be able to give a clearer indication of what sort of copyediting you'd like to see on this article? It looks OK to me. Biruitorul 17:51, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Did you know--howcheng {chat} 06:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC) I've reverted the changes you made to the Teresa Cheung article again. I thought I'd covered it in my edit summary, but perhaps not. In any case:
We can certainly discuss this further if you like, but I'd rather not keep changing the article back and forth. PC78 12:42, 16 March 2007 (UTC) Minor editsJust a reminder that the minor edit box should only ever be used when the edit really is minor. Taking a DYK nom to the next update template isn't minor. You also might want to add an edit summary saying that you've done that. Re:Муромцев.jpgRight, but Ghirlandajo does have a point. If the man died in 1910, the image is almost certainly PD, and flagging it for being unsourced seems counterproductive. Biruitorul 22:32, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
DYKHi - I think you moved Tâmpa, Braşov to the next update. I have moved it to the Main Page, although I think it was a bit old (much of the content was in place on 12 March). -- ALoan (Talk) 11:24, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

I assumed that was correct, of course, even though I've never seen this rule. However, ALoan soon commented that he also knew nothing of it. So I'm asking you: where exactly is this rule written? -- Carabinieri 19:41, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Ah, now I'm worried! I read The Four Stages of Cruelty when it was on the front page and thought it was really exceptional and truly fabulous - I don't reckon Batu Lintang camp is anywhere near that state of fabulosity! Besides, you say they had a team - there's just me and my reference books and lovely Grant65. Apart from a couple more images to upload, I kind of think I've stuck all that seems pertinent in already - does that mean improvement would be a matter of detail rather than new content? I'm a little worried that the amount of detail on the radio overbalances it - I had thought of hoicking that bit out as a separate article. I'm also very concerned about POV - as I explained to Grant, my grandparents were in the camp so it's hard to remain objective. That really worries me, as I want the article to be balanced, but to be honest there hasn't been much in any of my references that makes the Japanese come out looking good. Presumably I'd need to put the article through peer review and then GA candicacy first, before going for FA? Sorry about all the idiotic questions. Jasper33 22:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
