ChenrezigDear CFynn, I mainly write on Dutch Wikipedia (nl.), although I started Portal:Tibet here and did some maintenance here as well. I have seen your work and - to be honest - I have translated one or two articles of your hand into Dutch as well :-) In the past few months I have been working on the Dutch version of Dalai Lama and I included a part on the reincarnations that took place before the lifes of the fourteen Dalai Lama's. I'm not a Buddhist and for the explanation who Chenrezig is and for what reason he's important to Tibetan Buddhists, I wrote about seven lines on Chenrezig that was actually based on Avalokitesvara. Although they are one and the same, I got negative commentaries on this part. I guess I explained from an rather Indian in stead of a Tibetan perspective. Now I wondered if you were willing to write an introduction of five to seven lines on Chenrezig from a Tibetan perspective? In that case I can translate it and improve the article. It's a featured article meanwhile, so I rather have it good. I would be pleased if you could; please refuse if you don't like to. Sincerely, Davin (talk) 19:58, 12 March 2009 (UTC) The never-ending story about ShugdenHi, I'm just starting another attempt to stop the NKT people from 'taking over' the Wikipedia with their continuous edit-war to promote the Shugden practice. If you agree, please leave a note at Administrators noticeboard. rudy (talk) 13:24, 4 April 2009 (UTC) Chris take a look at DS controversy discussion would you. Why cant we just get all this propaganda blocked? While we appreciate your detailed contributions to the Drukpa wiki page, our lineage holders consider the lineage to be "Drukpa," rather than "Drukpa Kagyu." We politely request that you refrain from changing the entry back to include "Kagyu." Thank you very much for your understanding. Wendy L. How to remove a harmful script?{{adminhelp}} Is anyone able to help me getting an input script template Eukesh has installed on the Dzongkha Wikipedia and the Tibetan Wikipedia removed? I get no response from Eukesh who (maybe thinking it would be helpful) put this script on the Dzongkha and Tibetan Wikipedias which is supposed to allow one to type Tibetan or Dzongkha by using translitteration - however the script (based on one for Indic languages) may be well intentioned but was obviously written by someone who understood little about Tibetan & Dzongkha translitteration or the model used for encoding Tibetan in the Unicode standard - so the script is worse than useless. It is on by default and consequently this script has to be manually turned off via a checkbox with each and every edit. This is bad enough, but the template also affects input in the Search /Go To box in the left hand column making that useless. There is no obvious way to turn it off there, and without that search box being functional a Wikipedia is totally crippled. (Then people complain that no one is using Dzongkha and Tibetan Wikipedias - this could be one of the main reasons for that sad state of affairs.) I have suggested to Eukesh that he correct the script - here - but that hasn't happened; I have also asked him several times to remove it - here, here, here and here - but that hasn't happened either. I would remove the script myself, but don't know how to - and anyway probably don't have sufficient rights. Is someone with sufficient rights able to fix this? I have raised this issue at the Help Desk - but they say they acan only deal with issues affecting English Wikipedia. There is obviously no Help Desk or Village Pump for Tibetan or Dzongkha Wikipedias - in fact I am one of the only active contributors there. Would appreciate help to correct this.
ScriptHI, if it is causing a major problem and Eukesh is not responding I'd bring it up at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) and ask for some technical assistance. Regards. Himalayan 14:19, 27 September 2009 (UTC) Dorje Shugden POV TemplateThe reason why I removed the template was because it's superfluous. If you look at the template that's already there, 'this article or section has multiple issues', the first one is that the neutrality is disputed (tagged since April 2009). This template therefore incorporates the neutrality issue and another POV template is unnecessary. Best wishes, --Truthsayer62 (talk) 18:56, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
List of Tibetan writersThis was a translation, done on request, of the list which appears on German Wikipedia, de:Liste tibetischer Schriftsteller. I checked what I could, but I do not have the knowledge or resources to judge how accurate or appropriate all the entries are. I also wrote the article Tibetan literature. It is minimal and based on tertiary sources, so you might want to look over that one as well. Xanthoxyl < 16:28, 20 October 2009 (UTC) Mūlamadhyamakakārikā References requestYour request for references is too ambiguous. Please give specific, prioritised examples. Also, be aware that a substantial amount of literature in this field has not been translated into English. However, the text itself has been translated many times. The initial primary author of the article was qualified enough to be able to write in a general format, and wrote the substantial body of the article before WP started going wild about requiring published sources for everything. There is little or no OR in the article, and most of the assertions are acknowledged as universally accepted. Personally, I am particularly disinterested in finding the sources of translations - I leave it as an exercise to later authors. Regarding the idea that Nagarjuna's MMK served as the basis of a revolution in Buddhism is, AFAIK, undisputed, and I would not consider such claims as OR. What exactly are you suspicious of? I can supply references for the translation but not the sanskrit. What to do? Oxford73 (talk) 05:47, 3 May 2011 (UTC) You are now a ReviewerHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010. Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages. When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here. If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In the Russian wikipedia, we wrote an article on Dagana - the administrative center of Dagana District. We should start a project to get Bhutan articles on FA or DYK. I think Thimphu article is good enough to go for GA rank. But im new to the Project and i saw you have been it longer and you expand alot of Bhutan pages. I want to help improve the project but i want to see if our members are still active. Please note the following from WP:Minor:
I noticed that you marked the addition of the COI banner to the New Kadampa Tradition page (as well as the notifications on Truthbody's and Atishas Cook's pages) as merely minor edits, which seems inconsistent with the "rule of thumb" mentioned above. I've been adding Tibetan script to pages that need them per the Category:Articles needing Tibetan script or text. Your talk archive appears in that list. In order to keep an up-to-date list of articles needing Tibetan, would you mind removing the category from your archive – perhaps by adding <nowiki> tags? Thanks for having a look! Dzongkha WikipediaHi, Christopher! May you correct names of articles in Dzongkha Wikipedia? (this, this and this). --Impro (talk) 08:54, 9 March 2011 (UTC) April 2011In general, a person or organization added to a list, as on Integrated library system, should have a pre-existing article to establish notability. I noticed from your userpage that you have an understanding of the Tibetan language and script, and would like to ask for your help, if you don't mind. Are you able to read the Tibetan script within the following images: (image1, image2; sorry if some of the images aren't very clear, they're the only ones I could find) and type it into plain Unicode text, so that it can be included in the table at Resident Identity Card#Identity cards in ethnic minority areas?
