Welcome! Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! Rock in OppositionHi Bruce1ee- nice to see your edits on the Rock in Opposition and Henry Cow pages- as a matter of interest I was at the first London RiO festival way back in 1978- great gig! I also saw Henry Cow on there 1977 (final?) tour at the Queens Hotel here in Westcliff-on-Sea! Wonderful band! As you are up on that field of music, I was wondering if you'd be able to expand the article on Red Square (band) which I narrowly managed to save from deletion a while back, they were very active with Music for Socialism, also gigged with henry cow, Lol Coxhill and people like that- also do you know anything about those who celebrate, a Hulme, Manchester free improvisation outfit who's article I wasn't able to save, but would certainly re-instate if I knew more about them! One other thing, do you know anything about the legendary Henry Cow Book- I've had an eye out for it for yars but have never ever seen it anywhere! Cheers quercus robur 19:23, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Stub sortingHello. I can see you've been sorting a lot of band-stubs, and changing them, but just looking at the one that came up on my watchlist (187 Lockdown), you put a stub on for a completely wrong genre. If this is the case for more stubs you've changed, you're probably creating more work for people to correct them or change them back. It's my view on Wikipedia that if you don't know what the topic of an article is, you either leave it alone, or find out before doing anything to it. --Daniel Lawrence 09:37, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
You've also put Baingstoke, Hampshire, in the USA for Dead Sea Fucking Scrolls --David Woolley 20:23, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Please don't resort unless you are familiar with the subject matter. You sorted Kargyraa into music-theory and Ezengileer into music-genre. --Stacey Doljack Borsody 16:18, 27 December 2005 (UTC) Hongi HikaHi just chucked an article on the Hongi Hika stub you contributed to - just letting you know so I'm not stepping on toes, if you want to check it. :-) Winstonwolfe 01:37, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

note of thanksjust want to say thank you for being a stub sorter - I don't have the whole hierarchy of stubs in my head, and knowing that when I use an over-generic stub, someone will come and fix it, is a great relief to me! --Alvestrand 12:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Cherryh articles / CyteenHi, thanks for your March 30 note regarding the C. J. Cherryh articles on my (no longer in use) anonymous talk page. I've finally gotten around to creating a username and am now doing all of my edits under the new name. (New talk page here). I agree that the Cyteen page needs a fair amount of work and have put that under my to-do list. Not sure when I'll get around to it, tho. I have some other projects I want to get done (Cherryh-related and not), so it might be a while. Anyway, glad you obviously share an interest in building out that section of Wikipedia so I'm sure we will wind up collaborating at some point on various articles. Fred Frith / MassacreHello Bruce1ee, Thanks for your contribution in respect of this great musician. Is there a means to communicate with you off list by email? chazuke
Hi - I tried email but the link doesn't work for me ... I'm here for unreleased live recordings. Have collected all available bootlegs ("New MASSACRE" Moers, Warsaw and NYC). Looking for recordings of the Paris, Roskilde and the Hiroshima gigs. No commercial interest. Contacted Mr. Frith directly and he kindly informed me that he's considering an official release of the concert in Paris. So a recording exists! For fans of Frith & MASSACRE, the formation Frith/Zorn/Laswell/Lombardo is also recommended. They performed at least 4 times: NYC, London, Paris, Victoriaville, under the project names Sanctuary and Bladerunner. Audience recordings exist for each gig, but no official release.
Hi, thanks your reply. Details of the recordings at http://www.turning-groove.de and check the live gigs dates. I have recordings of Moers, Warsaw, NYC and London (London is an official release). Warsaw was filmed by the Polish TV. There exists a DVD of the gig. It is excellent. No recordings of new Massacre have surfaced for Paris Roskilde Hiroshima. As mentioned previously: Contacted Mr. Frith directly and he kindly informed me that he's considering an official release of the concert in Paris. So a recording exists! The quality of the bootlegs is excellent. So is the performance. Since you are interested: The best way for you may be to contact Mr. Frith via http://www.fredfrith.com and ask him directly for advice. The "old Massacre" performed live also, and numerous recordings exist. A band called 2 against 1 with Anton Fier instead of Fred Maher pretty much played Massacre stuff. Recordings were recently traded at http://www.dimeadozen.org To mention the existence of the bootlegs on the master web site may be problematic because of copyright issues. None of us pusues any commercial interest here, but it's a matter of rules ... Finisterre universe articleReally nice job with this article! Kudos. Fairsing 14:51, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Expanding Cherryh articlesThanks for your note. Yes, it's been good to fill out the category a bit, although there's still a lot of work to do! (Stuff in the A-U universe; cleanups of Cyteen, etc.). In response to your question, I've read almost all her novels except for the second and third novels in the Russian trilogy. Rusalka is the only Cherryh book I've read to date that I didn't like, and so haven't gotten around to the others in the series. But aside from those two, I've read all her novels. Most of her short fiction too, with a couple of exceptions of short stories in odd places (e.g. Elfquest, Glass and Amber, etc.). Fairsing 16:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC) On the pifferoAre you sure this is the Haydin instrument? Because "piffero" can be one of two instruments, in Italian: the one described here, and the military fife. Theta Beta Potata PUNK HOUSE Deletion ReviewThis article was first started by me and was deleted back in May '06. I was reading the punk house article and saw that the link for the TBP article was no longer red so I clicked on it and there was an article back up, started by another user. I dont know who started it because, it was deleted soon after I saw it. The decision made in the "Article for Deletion" debate should be reconsidered. The article is about a punk house not a fratenal organization. It seems that the debate, run by User:ChrisB and results were reported by User:Mailer Diablo. I will post this on their talk pages. This is the first time I have requested a deletion review so please let me know what else I need to do. If there is anything. I am on wikipedia frequently and I want to learn. Thanks. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Hello Bruce1ee, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:RockInOpposition flyer.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Bruce1ee. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. Fair use disputed for Image:CherryhChanursEndgamePBCover.jpgThanks for uploading Image:CherryhChanursEndgamePBCover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
