Questions about edits for wikipage on the California Consumer Privacy ActHello! I've started drafting some edits for my assigned article. There is a section on opinion polling prior to the election that successfully passed the CCPR (proposition 24) into law. It seems redundant at this point since there are official results available, but I am hesitant to delete an entire section. The talk page for the article is basically empty except for a user planning to update it once official vote totals were out. Do you have any guidance on how to proceed? WikiEdu assignment setup questionsHello Brianda, Although I've used WikiEdu previously, it's been some years. Here are a few things that have come up for me so far: 1) how do I set deadlines for WikiEdu assignments? I'm not seeing anyway of doing so in the Dashboard Timeline under edit 2: does WikiEdu actually track individual student edits and additions? I seem to recall it does but I wanted to double-check 3) there's a third one but it's not coming b ack to me at the moment so I'll put it in when it does! Thanks.! Hi Brianda. It looks like Cinnamonlover69 has chosen Ethics, an FA, for this class. That seems like a terrible idea. The FAC review was less than two months ago. Any additions to the page without opening a discussion on the talk page first will most likely be reverted due to PAGESIZE and SUMMARYSTYLE. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 18:07, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

I see this article has just been assigned as an education project, which may not be a good idea given it's currently being reviewed and revised for Good Article status. I think in fairness to the people working on getting the article to GA, it might be a good idea to assign a different article to the student. Kerry (talk) 02:27, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a researchHello, The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey. You do not have to be an Administrator to participate. The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement . Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns. One of the edits I hope to make is changing the title to either "Pregnancy and Femicide" or "Pregnancy-Associated Femicide", and my professor recommended I contact you regarding this as this would be a significant edit. I was therefore wondering if you had any insight regarding whether or not making this edit would be possible? Thank you! -- Samdlb123 (talk) 22:29, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
Request to translate a pageHi Brianda, My teacher asked me to contact you; here's the dashboard link to our class:https://dashboard.wikiedu.org/courses/Concordia/Media_and_Gender_F24_(Fall) I chose to translate this article from French to English: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chantal_Machab%C3%A9e, but it says that publishing translations is only for experienced users. I’ve already completed the translated version in my sandbox; here’s the link:User:WikiWriter1422/Chantal Machabée Do you think there’s any way for me to publish it? Thank you ! Can't find the correct bibliography sandbox pageHi Brianda, I am trying to add a source to my bibliography sandbox, yet whenever I click on the "Bibliography" link under my assigned article, it forwards me to another students sandbox page and not my own. I was hoping you could help me figure this out. Thank You! --MYeer (talk) 02:01, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
Need help request from Madutownsend (talk)Hello. I need help with... Under the reference section, when I try to edit my sources (add or delete) it opens the coding section. However, my peers are given a different option, they can use the citing tool that wikipedia provides to do so. I, on the other hand, do not have access to the same resource. Can you check this issue for me, please?
Hello Brianda Felix! My name is Savannah and I need help finding the sandbox page. I found a page that was "my page" however I know I am not supposed to write about Jaquira Diaz there so where do I find the sandbox for her article?

Reminder to participate in Wikipedia researchHello, I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement. Take the survey here. I am having a very hard time using wikipedia to edit my article. ArbCom 2024 Elections voter messageHello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add University of Wyoming/Architectural History (Fall 2024)Hi Brianda. I believe one of the students in Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/University_of_Wyoming/Architectural_History_(Fall_2024) named TMaese probably needs some additional guidance when it comes to uploading and using images. They upload the same file under different names to Wikipedia and Commons, and the copyright license they're using is almost certainly wrong. In addition, the way they've added images to Lehman-Tunnell Mansion is also not really how it should be done. Perhaps could discuss this stuff with them. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:33, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Need help request from JadynfBrayBoyce (talk)Hello! I hope you're doing well! For our class, we were tasked with either editing or creating a wiki page, and though I have completed all of the training, it's not letting me use my sandbox, so I've made my entire article on Google Drive so that I wouldn't be behind in the class. However, now I am unable to upload this article to the wiki. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me navigate this issue. I created a page for the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN). I hope you have a great rest of your day, and I look forward to hearing from you! All the best,
Articles to be classifiedHi Brianda, I've had several of my students do great work on several Wikipedia articles. Can you please send the following articles for reclassification. I don't think that they should be S-class any more: Wadi el-Hudi, Umm el-Qa'ab, El Lahun, and Temple of Seti I at Abydos. Thanks. KL 139.182.205.249 (talk) 18:08, 21 November 2024 (UTC) Choosing an articleHello, I planned to create an article on Bronzeville, the name Little Tokyo was called during a period of time during Japanese and Japanese American incarceration during WWII, focusing on the city during that time period. However, there is already an article listing several possible meanings of "Bronzeville," and "Bronzeville, Los Angeles" automatically redirects to "Little Tokyo, Los Angeles," so now I'm wondering whether there is even justification for creating a new article at all. It is quite late to change my topic, but I'm not sure how to move forward with this. Do you have any advice? StripesAreCool (talk) 19:52, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
American GodsHi Brianda (Wiki Ed), I'm not sure how to handle this, but for the last week and a half, I had to undo very large additions to American Gods, edits by Kent State University/HONR Freshman Honors Colloquium I (Fall 2024). Edits by SageSelios (talk · contribs), AshleyHarden13 (talk · contribs), Jordan.Gr5 (talk · contribs), and others. I completely assume good faith here, but their edits were in part WP:SYNTHy, unsourced and/or original research and used an essay-like tone. What is the best way to go about this? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 21:29, 22 November 2024 (UTC) UGST112 - Women in Science and Math Fall 2024 (Fall 2024)Hi Brianda. One of the students in Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/University of Oregon/UGST112 - Women in Science and Math Fall 2024 (Fall 2024) named Orinshriver recently uploaded File:Sibrina Collins Portrait.jpg and File:Young Sibrina Collins Working in Lab.jpg without providing any real source or copyright information, and the files have been tagged for speedy deletion per WP:F4 as a result. The files are attributed to a "Noah Stephens Photography" and "Wayne University" respectively, which most likely means they're not going to be able to kept per WP:F11 without verification of copyright holder WP:CONSENT since neither of these appear to satisfy WP:NFCC for conversion to non-free use. I'm sure the student meant well, but perhaps you could ask them to review whatever modules/materials Wiki Ed provides related to uploading images other media before uploading any more files. Mistakes like this are quite common and OK, but repeating them over and over again could lead to an administrator stepping in and issuing a more formal warning. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:22, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

contact Scr124Hi Brianda, I am instructor trying to reach one of my student editors, Scr124, to ask them to upload their talk or sandbox onto wikipedia. Another student and I wanted to add a subheading in which we summarized some of the themes the memoir addresses and cite scholarship on the memoir. It is on scr124's sandbox but this needs to get added to the Jaquira Díaz page. How to do that? How to ask scr124 to upload it? Thanks for advising: Laura Urmyotherme (talk) 19:44, 5 December 2024 (UTC) Instruct students to copy the source when copying to or from sandboxesIt happens too often that a student introduces an edit that strips formatting templates such as {{langx}} and {{IPA}} (example), presumably as a result of copying paragraphs on the HTML output (action=view) and pasting them onto VisualEditor. This not only inconveniences those of us who patrol, but also makes the edit less likely to survive since it makes reviewing the edit and identifying potentially admissible parts much more difficult. Copying using VisualEditor is slightly better, but it still breaks some templates and references, making copying the source the only way to get clean diffs. Can you please make sure your students are properly instructed to copy the source when copying between the main namespace and their sandboxes? Thank you.
