Error Code: "No stashed content found for ........."
Hi Brianda, Trying to publish my draft in the sandbox and keep getting an error code: "No stashed content found for ........." I've tried moving multiple things around, backtracking my steps , etc. Looking into settings now. Wondering if you have any idea on what the issue could be? Hi @Thistooktoolong, The first step to take is to complete the training modules that explain how to go to do this in detail. Take a look the training module titled "Keeping track of your work on the dashboard". It explains how to first assign yourself the topic of your choice to work on, and then how to create a sandbox, where you can then add your work. Having trouble moving article out of sandbox.

I thought I had moved my article properly out of sandbox and onto main, seems I did it incorrectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Thistooktoolong Part of the problem is that you moved your sandbox, which was pretty empty, to mainspace. You did not move User:Thistooktoolong/Aaron Paul Orsini, where you had developed your draft text. Looking at that text, it needs some cleanup, but it is probably ready for mainspace. I need help with... fixing the date and source error messages on the citation on my sandbox page that I just added today.Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).
I completed the evaluating articles and sources, plagiarism, and policies trainings on wiki and they were marked as completed but they no longer are. Instead, now I just have the option to start all of them even though I've done them. Hi @Stellandmace1004, I took a look at your dashboard and it shows those trainings as completed on time. Email me a screenshot of what you see, if it shows differently on your dashboard.
A little explanation of the training materials: The training modules are the slides that need to be read through and once those are completed the dashboard automatically marks them as complete. The exercises are more hands on and those need to be manually marked complete by the user.
I'd say just make sure that you are always logged into the dashboard when completing any of the trainings and exercises, and the dashboard should track everything correctly. So, first of all, I just want to place your question in context: do I understand correctly that you are looking at item ②, page 6, of the Wiki ed "Editing Wikipedia" pdf? If so, in your question are you saying that you don't understand how to apply it, or is it something else about that page? Can you clarify? @Conman173 I believe your question is about the Find potential article exercise on the dashboard. This exercise is meant to help you explore different topics you're interested in for this project, and help you narrow it down to one that has the scope for improvement and a good list of sources. So yes, you are on the right track, look for 3 - 5 article topics you're interested on working on, gather some sources for each of them, and then you can make a decision at which article topic you want to work on.
You're more likely to find articles that need improvement by looking at those rated C class and below. Instructor Gonzales provided some good references to look through on the timeline for Week 3 for article topic. I hope this cleared things up. Let me know if you have any other questions. Liz That was a weird one, but I figured it out. fr:Utilisateur:Aina JR was created, and was able to register on the Dashboard. Because the account hasn't been used on another wiki, it presumably doesn't show up on SUL.

Hello, Brianda. It appears almost certain that this student editor deliberately added a significant amount of hoax content to Wi-jún-jon at 19:47 March 7, 2023. I removed the hoax content today, and added a well-referenced description of his death. I know that the course is over, but this seems to be serious academic misconduct. Hi there, Make sure that when you said a message on Wikipedia that you are logged into Wikipedia. Otherwise, it'll use your IP address in your signature rather than your username.
Hi Brianda, found you through Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/University of Maryland, College Park/The Free Internet (FA23). I was just looking at the feedback form the participants are using for peer review. I found the initial prompt, "Has the Lead been updated to reflect the new content added by your peer?", to be perhaps a bit unnecessary. If the new content is significant, this is handled by the other questions already in that section, if it is not significant then perhaps it should not result in a lead adjustment, so the question seems counterproductive. Other than that, I like the questions, although I note "Are the sources thorough?" is a very high standard question that bedevils even the most advanced Wikipedian! Mainspace contributions from recent course
Hi Brianda, thanks for all you do for Wiki Ed! I wanted to quickly flag for your attention the project in this course. I organically stumbled on 2 students' mainspace contributions and checked the recent contributions of a third, all from within the last few days. From what I scanned through, only one of the students made edits appropriate for mainspace (and all were malformed). I'm not sure if this indicates a process in the course going awry or if these are just normal beginner edits independent of the course, but just in case I wanted to flag it for your attention! Hi @Cg77815, The table of contents is automatically created according to the headers in the article, so don't worry about it. A couple of things as your work on your draft:
Make sure the text has inline citations to reliable sources. Keep in mind reliable sources are independent of the topic, secondary sources with a reputation for fact-checking.
Since the article on the Musical Dome already exists, you'll be adding your edits (with inline citations) to the existing article - not creating a new article.

As I have discovered, as part of some assignment, one of the students attempted an article on "Sophie Clarke", who has been deemed not notable enough for stand-alone article per AFD discussion. "Speedy deletion" for contents of public declarations
Hi @Plantbella, This is an interesting situation. I think what you can focus on right now is building up the article in other ways like by adding other sections, if you have the reliable sources to do that. Take a look at the articles you shared above, they have sections like historical context, purpose, reception, criticism, etc. I think this article could really benefit from more content before diving into the rights themselves. You can also can add an External links section, with a link to the declaration itself, if readers wish to read it in depth.
As for the list of rights, it's a bit tricky. I think there might be a case to be made that there's no way to add them or engage with the list of rights properly, without either directly copying them or closely paraphrasing. But I feel this is a discussion that needs to happen with the community. Perhaps you can leave a message at the WikiProject Sexology and sexuality's talk page to get others to chime in on how to best represent the list of rights in the article.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
Earlier today, a Wikipedia page was created for Sundown (novel), a text we have been researching for the past three months for our WikiEducation course. My group mates and I have secured rights for the cover image from the University of Oklahoma Press, however, we ran into a few issues.
1. After granting us the rights to Sundown's cover image, the University of Oklahoma Press suggested we "seek additional permissions from the artist's estate." The cover image artist is Mars Biggoose. At the moment, we cannot reach his estate nor do we have information that the estate exists.
2. The Sundown (novel) page lists both Pearson Longman and University of Oklahoma Press as publishers, and we only have rights from one of them.

Hi @Peony**23, This is a great question. There are limited situations where a non-free image can be used in accordance with fair use policy, and book covers are part of those limited situations. Luckily for us, WikiProject Books has a page that provides guidance on how to upload a book cover. Check it out here, follow their steps/guidance, and you should be able to successfully upload an image for the book cover, using the non-free file upload wizard.
Make sure you provide a link to the publisher's site you downloaded the image from, be sure to use the Non-free book cover template in the licensing field, and fill out the fields appropriately to demonstrate it meets the image criteria for free-use. You can also check out this template on how/what to write up for the non-free rationale.
Give it a shot and let me know how it goes or if you run into any trouble. Looping in @VP2019 - This WikiProject Books/Images link is a helpful reference for other students uploading book cover images currently or for future projects.
Question Regarding the Etruscan Religion Page as a Wiki-Ed Student

Firstly, thank you for your help so far with our Ancient Roman Religion Wikipedia assignment. I was hoping for some guidance on what to do with an issue I have encountered in my journey to making a Wikipedia. I found in the Priests and Officials section of the page, there was no citation for the second paragraph, and it mentioned a term, nethstra that I had not encountered. Due to this (after searching through academic databases), I brought it up to my Professor, Dr. Rask, and she confirmed what I feared, there was no basis for any of that paragraph. I think the best course of action would be to delete this paragraph, but I wanted to run it by you first since I am still new to editing Wikipedia.

Hi, I'm not Brianda but I watch her talk page. Thanks for flagging this interesting issue! You have a few different options here, but a core editing guideline is to be bold: remove the paragraph, and see if another editor objects. If they do object, you can discuss on the article's talk page (Talk:Etruscan religion); this approach to reaching consensus is sometimes called the "BOLD, revert, discuss" cycle. If you're nervous about removing content, you can instead tag it, adding {{Citation needed}} tags after the sentences that aren't supported, and perhaps also sharing your concerns on the talk page.
In this specific case, I would probably just remove the paragraph. I agree that I don't see this term or this gendered split in haruspices mentioned in any obvious sources (e.g. The Religion of the Etruscans). It is mentioned in one book indexed by Google Books, Etruria and the Origins of the Etruscans by Giovanni Caselli (who doesn't seem like an academic in the field to me), which states:
[The Etruscan religion] was largely adopted by the heterogeneous people who formed the nucleus of Rome, where both the state and the individual did not take any initiative without first consulting the gods through an intermediary — male (haruspex) or female (nethsra) - who had the ability to “read the signs” of the gods. The most common method was to read these signs in the liver of a sacrificed sheep, practicing a “divination” of Mesopotamian origin.
We might worry that this is citogenesis, since that book was released in 2022 and the statement was introduced to the Wikipedia article in 2007 [1] by User:Botteville, who is still an active editor! (By the way, I used the WikiBlame tool to find the edit that first included the word nethsra.) This gets us to another exciting aspect of Wikipedia editing, consulting others who may have expert knowledge. User:Botteville, any insight into this claim? Any idea what source you pulled this from? It seems quite likely to me that this reflected historical consensus in 2007 but not so in more recent scholarship, but it could also be based on a translation from sources not yet in English. Sorry, I have been off for a few weeks tending to health. Let's get a couple of things right to begin with. If you are talking about the writing, I did not "pull" it from anywhere. I wrote it, as I recall, although I cannot guarantee that no one else changed it. I remember the part about the initiative and the gods. I doubt I was responsible for the "heterogeneous." But why do you not pay attention to what you are saying to me? Did you think I am fool enough not to notice? You're accusing me of copying a published text and putting it in WP under my own name. This is not the first time this has happened. The reason is that the publishing industry thinks it is perfectly OK to copy material from WP and publish it as original. If you do not know that by now perhaps you should apply for another WP position. The last time this happened I had split away my text to form another article. Someone copied a whole page I had written and claimed I had copied them. Eventually the original article of mine was discovered with the earliest version of the text and I heard no more about it. If this passage above has appeared in a more recent published book the author is a low-down text-stealing crook trying to make money off of people like me in particular and WP in general. Academics are notorious for that, especially when they have to give a speech or a lecture in less time than they have to do it themselves. Most administrators on WP know that. I hope this satisfies your investigation. I doubt you will find any earlier text than mine. Where I might have read those conclusions I now have no idea. They look pretty standard to me. Have your student writer do a little more work. Try Internet Archive and some of the journal archives. We have access to JSTOR, so try that. If you are going to do something, do it right. Hi Brianda. File:Photograph of Dalton Wells Historical Marker.jpg was uploaded locally to Wikipedia (and also to Wikipedia Commons under the same name as c:File:Photograph of Dalton Wells Historical Marker.jpg) by one of the students in Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/Brigham_Young_University/The_United_States_Since_1877_-_Section_002_(Fall_2023), but it has been nominated for deletion. It's hard to blame the student here since the Flickr photo does appear to be acceptably license; the problem, however, is with the Flickr account holder since the photo they took is a WP:Derivative work (i.e. a photo of someone else's copyrighted work) and they can't claim copyright ownership over what they've photographed. This kind of thing can be complicated when assessing for Wikipedia's purposes, but the copyright status of the noticeboard itself needs to be considered in addition to the copyright status of the photo. I'm not sure if the Wiki Ed modules cover this kind of thing, but that's why the file was nominated for deletion by Explicit. Perhaps you could explain this to the uploader and advise them to keep it in mind when looking for other photos to upload. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:08, 10 December 2023 (UTC)

Be careful to not plop all of your content in one edit. Make sure to add your work in small chunk edits, and don't copy over existing text that is sourced. If you are editing existing text, make sure your new information is sourced and is an improvement over what is there in terms of content and sources.
