Request help with the Nietzsche Talk page

If you please, I've posted quotations by Nietzsche 37 times now, to have them reverted by not one, but several POV Nietzsche advocates. I've conducted e-mail discussions and myTalk and also the Nietzsche Talk pages -- many against one -- and my opponents have used mostly emotional attacks against my NPOV contribution (as it seems to me). Most recently one of them, who most recently uses my member name (PETREJO) spelled backwards (OJERTEP), has crossed out all my text on the Talk Page. (I have an MA in philosophy, and I gather that only one of my opponents is as well-versed on this topic -- and that one is a POV avocate, it seems to me.) Would you help me? This request for help does not seem to me to be in good faith. I am one of those who has been reverting Petrejo. He has not deigned to engage in debate towards reaching consensus either on the article talk page or on his own. I also have an MA in philosophy. The content that Petrejo keeps trying to add is such that it constitutes original research, albeit in the form of a bunch of cleverly juxtaposed quotes, rather than a reference to the explicit statements of Neitzsche or commentators on Nietzsche about Nietzsche's work. mgekelly 18:27, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Komárno

I have a problem:

• 1. Komarno have only one official hungarian name: Komárom see http://www.komarom.sk
• 2. Problem is, now have a town in Hungary the same name, Komárom.
• 3. Today hungarian Komarom was up to 1890 was it only a village Ujszony
• 4. Since 1890 was it a suburban of Komarom
• 5. Since 1918 diveded in slovakian and hungarian part.
• 6. Now use some newspaper in Hungary for Komarom in Slovakia Revkomarom.
• 7. Hungarian newspaper in Slovakia and Hungarian in Slovakia use only(95-99%) Komarom.
• 8. I friend for me, professor for Hungarian language in Bratislava: Komarom is the only hungarian name of city.
• 9. Hungarian, german and all other wikipedias know only Komarom
• 10. From Hungarian wikipedia: hu:Komárom (Szlovákia): Ez az elnevezés viszont ma sértő, mert azt sugalja, hogy a déli magyarországi rész az igazi Komárom. This name is today abusive, the name pretend, that hungarian, south Komarom is only genuine Komarom.

Need your help.

If someone continue attacking me then what should I do? Is there any wikipedia policy? Where should I report that person? Do you think following is an attack (I feel it very offending to me).

Faisal, you haven't made a single contribution to the article using reliable sources. Your talk page edits consist mainly of declarations of edit war, attempts to recruit other people to be on your side in the edit war that you are waging, and attacks aimed at those who disagree with you. Personal attacks

Do you find this comment by Ibrahimfaisal to be civil, especially the part I've put in italics?

Pecher I advice you to understand Neutral_Point_of_View. Then you can write articles that have you POV and still I am satisified. For example see OBL article. I do not believe that he has to do anything with 9/11 but still I like that article a lot. Because it is written from neutral point of view. It is not helpful when you made conclusion in the introduction and do not let anyone else to contribute. I have contributed in many article but cannot do any contribution in this article because of you and you team. Eye movement in music reading

Hi there; I guess it's nice to be asked about the results of the doctoral project. Although I submitted six years ago, I haven't yet published a journal article on the results. (I seem to spend all of my time fixing the text of other researchers nowadays.) My unbacked-up files of the dissertation went down the tube with my old computer, so I was unable to take up the university's offer to put it on the net. It's in hard-copy only.

I've half-written an article on the first of the two experiments, and it's easy to paste in the abstract here:

Title: Tempo, eye movement and the eye–hand span in the sight reading of keyboard music

Abstract

The eye movement of skilled keyboardists was measured as they sight read hymn settings at strictly controlled tempos. A novel composite measure was used —the pause—comprising a saccade and its succeeding fixation. In the light of the proportional relationship between tempo and the mean duration and total number of pauses, it was hypothesised that (1) participants would adapt to a doubling of tempo by reducing pause duration and number to an approximately equal extent, and (2) the reduction in pause number would be achieved by reducing levels of refixation and increasing the amount of information that was not fixated on, and (3) two key aspects of the eye–hand span—load and latency—would similarly share tempo adaptation to an approximately equal extent. The hypotheses were confirmed, suggesting that all of these variables comprise an intricate mechanism for tempo adaptation in music reading.

I developed two simple mathematical relationships to describe the interaction between the main factors.

The second part of the project concerned the role of working memory in music reading. I developed a computer application to test my hypothesis that it's possible to improve sight reading performance by manipulating working memory in certain ways.

VANDALISM AGAINST ALL MY EDITS BY A USER CALLED "DEMIURGE"

June 12, 2006

Dear Sir or Madam:

A Wikipedian called "Demiurge" who once accused me of being a sockpuppet is deleting all of my edits. The Member's Advocate "Bobcheezy" (real name Andrew) reviewed this matter previously and confirmed that I am not a sockpuppet. He told me to contact him if this individual continues to misbehave and I did but Andrew seems to be busy right now and I would like this matter resolved. "Demiurge" seems to be pursuing some sort of vendetta against another Wikipedian and I am caught in the crosshairs. Is this acceptable behavior for him or her to take it upon himself/herself to delete other people's work without authorization and without even attempting to contact me?

He or she should be told to desist and penalized in the event he or she refuses. If this person were dealing in good faith with me and had contacted me I would contact him/her back. But I refuse to do so now due to this abuse.

• See my talk page for evidence suggesting that this user is a sockpuppet of indefinitely blocked User:[e-mail]. Add to that the shared interest in minor Hollywood celebrities, List of famous people with breast cancer, edit summaries in all caps, and especially the edits to Irish neutrality (just look at the page history) and it's fairly certain that "Mary" is yet another of Rms125a's sockpuppets. I think I understand now why this is happening. Apparently "Demiurge" resents my having updated something he/she had previously edited, although my edits were not very different from his. I checked out his/her home page briefly and apparently we are both Irish, so we have some shared interests, although mine are more contemporary.

I think he/she should have contacted me rather than behaving as he or she did. As far as breast cancer, I am extremely interested in the subject having lost a grandmother to the disease and I am very gratfeul that list exists and I plan to add more names to it as the opportunities (unfortunately) arise. Am I the only one interested in this subject? I am interested in entertainment and politics as it says on my home page but Brian McCargo, Simon Towneley and Kellyanne Conway are hardly "minor Hollywood celebrities."

Please help with this nonsense so it is not a recurring issue.

What should I do about a misleading image?

Hello. I am concerned about a Wikipedia image that I find to be misleading and unencyclopedic. I found you listed on the AMA Advocates page, and it looked like you might be able to help me.

The following is the image:

My claim that it is misleading stems from the following:

• Upon casual observation of the image (particularly when it is shrunk down for inclusion in articles), the image appears to indicate that there has been a dramatic recent spike in temperature, that has resulted in temperature being clearly higher than it was during the medieval warm period.
• Upon closer observation of the image, there is no data series in the image that actually supports that casual observation, and in fact it is only through splicing different data series together that that casual observation is created.
• Note that all of the series that go back to the medieval warm period (i.e. red, green, orange, etc.) are at roughly the same temperatures at the end of the diagram as they are at during the medieval warm period, and hence they cannot support the notion that recent temperature is clearly higher than it was during the medieval warm period.
• The only series that does really spike up at the end of the diagram (i.e. the black one) does not go back to the medieval warm period (in fact, it is the shortest series of the diagram). As such, it is clearly possible that during the medieval warm period, that series would have been at the same temperature that it is at at the end of the diagram, and hence it also cannot support the notion that recent temperature is clearly higher than it was during the medieval warm period.
• It is by splicing the short black series on top of the other series that the casual observation is created.
• Note also that the black line is thicker than all the other lines, that it is placed on top of all the other lines, and that it is the darkest color of any of the lines; all of which make it difficult for me not to suspect that the image was intentionally created to be misleading.

I added comments to the talk page for the image as delicately as I could at first, simply asking for another version of the image that did not include the black line (i.e. I was not asking to get rid of the image). As the discussion continued, there seemed to be no interest in taking my concerns seriously and generally I found the responses to be defensive. As it became clear that a new image would not be created as I had requested and as I got annoyed by repeated mischaracterizations of things that I wrote and by personal insults, I felt fully justified in responding in kind. And, as you might imagine, the conversation thus ended unresolved.

I still, however, maintain my dispute with the image, and I honestly think it is not appropropriate for Wikipedia. Let me carefully state too that I do very much think there is good reason for people to be concerned about global warming. However, I think providing misleading information is in fact bad for the global warming concern movement as it harms the movement's credibility. Most importantly, though, I think misleading information certainly has no place in an encyclopedia.

So... I am writing to ask for help. What do you think I should do?

Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09.
