Murasaki againHi Bamse, just checking in. I haven't forgotten about the emaki page but have been overwhelmed by real-life events so I'm not editing much. Hopefully by May I can be back full-time. I haven't had a chance to pull Bowring's diary out of the stack of books it's fallen into, but I will get to it. I think the emaki page should have a more developed lead - what are your thoughts? Also, I think I've addressed your comments on the biography page. Also thanks for holding the fort the other day when the biography was on the front page. Truthkeeper (talk) 01:04, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I need translation of a text about members of the medieval family Humoj. Looks very very nice. Thank you. Just some random thoughts assuming you want to nominate it at WP:GAN.
That's all I can think of now. As mentioned above, the article is perfectly fine as is and these suggestions are mostly aimed at satisfying wikipedia guidelines for good or featured articles. So unless you are planning to nominate it, don't worry about it. bamse (talk) 09:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Genji questionHi Bamse, I don't know whether you've seen this conversation re the Genji image. Apparently I made a mistake. I've been looking at images in some museums and found this [1] - do you know if this is an image we have at Commons? I'll go look, but can't always find what I want there. If not, I think I'll upload this to use - certainly it's not one we've used yet. Also thought you might be interested in this link [2]. The Heilbrunn has a lot of interesting information - the links at the bottom of the article are Jstor articles but available w/out having to use Jstor which is handy. Thought you might be interested. You can {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template. at any time by removing the And some from me too - and sorry about the delay, I took your don't rush too literally. I've sent (1) the Fujiwara passage - you asked what language it's in, well there's no kana; (2) the Farris about it; (3) mini pictures of the three Ban Dainagon scrolls; (4) the Ban Dainagon text; and (5) an English-language introduction to the Ban Dainagon; I've tried to OCR these - the Ban Dainagon text may have worked a bit, but unfortunately the Fujiwara hasn't really; I can easily reimage the Fujiwara if wished; as for the Ban Dainagon, as you know, what I hoped is I'd be able to have some decent quality images and do a photomerge, but there's generally not much overlap, sometimes there's a little missing, the paper's really glossy, and I've photographed them a couple of times and can't get a good result, so I've just sent some overall shots which at least have some labels, a working copy perhaps; individual scenes from other books should be much easier if you specify; good luck! Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve. At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange). Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot. Which I took it has to be in the 13th century, as early 12th century is more likely to be Northern Song. The date on the description page is quite unclear in my opinion. I just adjusted to the most reasonable period. However, I did some search, and it seems Zhao Chang was actually active during the Northern Song era. So the date on the image's description page should probably be changed, or at least say Northern Song instead of Southern Song.--Sevilledade (talk) 07:51, 5 September 2012 (UTC) Your free 1-year Questia online library account is approved readyGood news! [3] and the Dutch wiki version of his article call them illegitimate. The lack of dates asserting their lives seem to show that they aren't legitimate since even insignificant nobles during the time have exact dates of birth and death. Also his surviving daughter married a commoner which would be extremely unlikely if she was a legitimate daughter since Nassau was considered a very royal line at the time and wouldn't have married below the rank of Count or Prince. It must be a mistake on the part of the creator of the German version.--The Emperor's New Spy (talk) 08:34, 28 September 2012 (UTC) Disambiguation link notification for September 29Hi. So I see a wide variety of pages. As I come across pages with non-Latin text, I think it important to inform the reader that perhaps his computer won't show the page as it should be, so I insert a {{contains xxx text}} as I go. It seems a polite step, and the small square it generates is fairly unobtrusive. Of course I realize that for most visitors it is unnecessary - if they visit a page describing Japanese writing for instance, then one may assume that they have an interest enough to have already made any modification required, and in any case not to be surprised by the page containing Japanese text. On the other hand, maybe they aren't aware that modifications need to be made. Either way, I think it important, and it can only help their Wikipedia experience. (By the way, I've not tested, but I hope the template carries a 'do not print' tag). John of Cromer in Philippines (talk) mytime= Sun 07:24, wikitime= 23:24, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Actually I saw that how you expanded some of the Japan-related articles. It has been a time that I and some other users are discussing about the articles of Japanese empresses. I really tried to expand those articles which are stubs but unfortunately I couldn't, because I don't know Japanese and I can't use the information from Japanese Wiki. It will be really good if you expand them by translating the information from Japanese Wikipedia. Currently, Chinese empresses' articles are in better situation than Japanese ones. The titles of some articles must be compared with Japanese wiki for correction and names of empresses should become translated from ja:日本の皇后一覧 or ja:Template:歴代皇后一覧 in Japanese wiki as we don't have a complete list of empresses. Please work on these articles as you're interested in Japan's history. I look forward to see those articles expanded by you. Japanese emperor's and empress regents' articles (like Empress Jingu) can become more expanded too if it is needed because most of them are expanded, but currently empresses' articles need more improvement. ;) Keivan.fTalk 13:13, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chidō Museum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Important Cultural Property. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:17, 20 October 2016 (UTC) Nomination for deletion of Template:Shinto architectureTemplate:Shinto architecture has been nominated for deletion. I must say I was very pleased by the content, and would have liked to have assessed it as a "C". But I must agree with the User who posted the tag 'refimprove'. The bibliography is sound and sufficiently expansive to properly annotate every sentence in the article. Until more work is done on references, I don't think the article will go any higher. Jackdude101 (Talk) 23:29, 12 April 2017 (UTC) Can you help verify translations of articles from GermanHello Bamse, Would you be able to help evaluate the accuracy of translations of Wikipedia articles from German to English Wikipedia? This would involve evaluating a translated article on the English Wikipedia by comparing it to the original German article, and marking it "Pass" or "Fail" based on whether the translation faithfully represents the original. Here's the reason for this request: There are a number of articles on English Wikipedia that were created as machine translations from different languages including German , using the Content Translation tool, sometimes by users with no knowledge of the source language. The config problem that allowed this to happen has since been fixed, but this has left us with a backlog of articles whose accuracy of translation is suspect or unknown, including some articles translated from German. In many cases, other editors have come forward later to copyedit and fix any English grammar or style issues, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the translation is accurate, as factual errors from the original translation may remain. To put it another way: Good English is not the same as good translation. If you can help out, that would be great. Here's a sample of the articles that need checking:
All you have to do, is compare the English article to the German article, and assess them "Pass" or "Fail" (the {{Pass}} and {{Fail}} templates may be useful here). (Naturally, if you feel like fixing an inaccurate translation and then assessing it, that's even better, but it isn't required.) Also please note that we are assessing accuracy not completeness, so if the English article is much shorter that is okay, as long as whatever has been translated so far is factually accurate. If you can help, please {{ping}} me here to let me know. You can add your pass/fails above, right next to each link, or you may indicate your results below. Thanks! I am using Template:Harvard citation no brackets for book references, having a Template:Cite book in the bibliography section of an article and a "Harvnb" entry in the references section of the article, which is automatically hyperlinked to the "cite book". How can I achieve the same convenient referencing for an online encyclopedia (instead of a book)? Here each entry has its own author. So basically what I want is:
Note that, unlike to the book case, I don't have a page number, and that the encyclopedia is written by many people (each article written by one person only).
