Regarding your query on Customary_measurement_systems
Hi!
You left me a question in your edit summary. See: This for a quick refresher. I put the stub on it to attract editor attention. I probably should have place a clean on it as well for the same purpose.
There is a lot to fill in because most cultures have their own 'peoples measures' like the cup (unit) artilce indicates clearly. e.g. United States customary units. I placed in line comments within (<!--- ... ---->) to indicate this cultural input was what was needed. Those are visible in the link view as well.
Hope this clears it up as I have no idea what the customary units may be for Java, Turkey, Italy nor Pakistan! I'll cross post this to the talk and add a clean tag there. I was rushed that night—most likely 5 to seven edit pages deep that I had to back out of and save as I went. :) I eventually got to bed, but it wasn;t early! :(
S'all right- I saw this in the talk when I went to cross post the one now reverted. I do need to pay more attention to my watch list, but had a couple of awful lost 'stacks of edits' with a new browser that closed on me scrapping everything during the interval. Live and learn! Best! The mistakes
Hello, actually I am not able to comment on such technical matters. You may also contact 2 / 3 more users who may be able to ascertain the defect, and then the matter may be taken up at a proper forum. I find that you have very long term interest of wikipedia in your mind, and that is a really nice sign. --Bhadani17:05, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh now I understand - the version of the windows you may be using may be "out-dated" perhaps. I am not sure, but when I was away and use some PCs installed with older versions, the problem comes - they do not support indic texts. Though I am not sure of this. --Bhadani17:33, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Now I got it. Oh, now I understood it - yes, you are right. How to get it rectified is the main issue now. We will have to take up this with Wikipedia Foundation or its any other wing - which one? I do not have any clue. --Bhadani17:57, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
I do agree with the above, and I can tell the mistake is apparent as Hindi is my mother toungue. I also tahnk Ambuj for analyzing the matter, and taking the initiative to bring this to the notice of Wikimedia Foundation. I request Angela and other authorities to please initate suitable measures to set right the mistake. Thanks to all. --Bhadani17:19, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Haha. Yeah, always feel free to post such things on Indian Notice-board. It's meant for things like these. For sources in the IIT article, if you are convinced that there's no reason the source will be biased, go ahead and use it as much as you want. Meanwhile, keep trying to find more sources, since it's always better to work from a broad base of sources. deeptrivia (talk) 13:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh..sorry..now I got what you're saying. People do sometimes put the same ref again and again, but I don't think it adds much to information. I'd rather put some inline comments in the article after sentences that might appear to be needing citation, so that if someone goes into edit mode to add sth like "citation needed", he immediately finds out that it's from the source already cited. But you can actually go ahead and cite the source at 2 - 3 important places. deeptrivia (talk) 14:01, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Peer review
Unfortunately, that's the way it always is with peer reviews. Few people are interested in them. Most people point out problems only at the FA nomination stage. Request on the Indian noticeboard for reviews, and then, after a while, nominate it for FA. There will be lots of objections. That will be the main source of feedback, using which the article could be improved. That's how I've seen it work always :) deeptrivia (talk) 16:55, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh. Didn't know about that nomination. Of course, it has to be a while before it is nominated -- it doesn't look like a serious candidate right now. Will provide more inputs soon. You're doing the right thing by contacting editors personally. Geteting in touch with the participants of Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities will be a good idea. deeptrivia (talk) 17:22, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
IIT
Article is shaping up well. You've done a good job. Don't sweat the language comments -- I think it reads quite well in general -- Samir(the scope)05:41, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response. I'm quite busy these days, so I hardly visit wikipedia. The article is looking good. See if you can expand the lead text slightly more. Of course, there would be minor problems here and there that could be sorted out during the nomination week. You have to be sure that you can devote sufficient time to make any suggested changes during that week. So if you are ready, go for it now! It's a job well done :) deeptrivia (talk) 01:25, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Hey dude, I'd go for FAC. The article looks fabulous and, in my experience, starting the FAC process accelerates the copyediting needed to tweak it to perfection. (FYI, for what it's worth, my dad's an IIT Delhi graduate, and he's enjoyed the article so much that he's forwarding the link to all his colleagues. Big ups to you.) -- Samir(the scope)03:58, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I've found many issues with the article. I'll need some more time before I put up my comments. This article still has someway to go before it becomes featured. I request you to be patient as it may face a host of objections. To begin with please clarify the licences of the images. Not all websites release their pictures free for commercial and derivative use. Secondly, please provide transcripts of "friends" who have released their rights to the images. Thirdly, please use the png filetype for the map. Regards, =Nichalp«Talk»=15:33, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
I will surely wait. There's no point in rushing if issues can be resolved before the FAC. I have replaced the IIT Image with the PNG one and will put the transcripts as soon as possible. The images that I have used from website includes the photograph of Nehru laying foundation stone of IIT Kharagpur, and the source was IIT Kharagpur's Website. How do I find out if it were free or not? My guess was that since its more than 50 years old and the website does not mention any copyrights, the image is both Fair Use as well as public domain. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 17:55, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
The issues raised by you have been addressed. I have contacted the original authors and got first-hand transcript of the permission, which now appears in the image summary. The license of the image of Nehru in History section has been modified to {{HistoricPhoto}}, which I believe should be appropriate. The PNG file of the map has been uploaded and link updated. I have even put up the older image for deletion myself as it is now redundant. Hope to hear more from you soon. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 06:06, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
The Barnstar Brigade is a new program aimed at giving more very deserving yet unappreciated users barnstars. It will officially start on 2006-04-09, but signing up is encouraged before this date:
"Here in Wikipedia, there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go un-appreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go un-noticed. Sadly, these editors often leave the project. As Esperanzians, we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. A project the size of Wikipedia has thousands of editors, so there are plenty of people out there who deserve recognition, one just has to find them. The object of this program is not to flood editors with Barnstars, but to seek out people who deserve them, and make them feel appreciated."
The Stress alertsprogram aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Information
Welcome to the second issue of the new format Esperanza Newsletter - we hope you still like it! This week, it was delivered diligently by our new dogsbody. MiszaBot (run by Misza13): any execution complaints should go to him. Content comments should be directed at the Esperanza talkpage. Thanks!
The current process for accepting proposals for new programs has been deemed fine. All Advisory Council members and the Admin Gen are to endevour to be bold when viewing discussion. If they feel that consensus has been reached, they will act accordingly.
A plea from the editor...
The propsed programs page is terribly underused! Please leave any comments, good or bad, on the page, to help us determine the membership's thoughts on the ideas there.
Hey, got your message regarding the Dil Chahta Hai article. Just checked the Filmfare website and yes they did receive the award for the film [1]. Will add that back on the page. Thanx anyway, Pa7 20:45, 7 April 2006
Re:IIT
Hi Ambuj - thanks for your compliments on Lothal. You've done a fantastic job on the IIT article, and I'll do my best to help. Keep up the great work. Rama's Arrow17:58, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi! I afraid I don't think I'll get much time to deep review the article during this week. If you feel like wrapping things up on PR, go ahead, I'll put my comments on the IIT talk page.
Briefly, the GFDL licence allows a person to do the following: 1. Make commercial use of your image directly or indirectly 2. Make derivatives of your image without necessarily contacting you. However the licence is such that, he MUST credit you as the author, and release any derivatives only under the GFDL licence. If an image is released under GFDL, the licence cannot be revoked. GFDL, however is not very appropriate for images, a more appropriate licence is the CC-BY-SA-[version] (creative commons share alike) licence which is accepted by wikipedia. You can also dual licence the CC and GFDL licences together. Since you are the author of the images, the date taken would be a good addition to the page.
Public Domain images means that the author has given up all rights to it. Any person may make commercial use without crediting the author, and release derivates on his own terms. Such a licence is not legal in India (it is only legal after you go through a lot a red tape... I can explain if needed). Releasing all rights to the image is another term used in commons:.
IITs are largely known for its engineering services, so a geology department would display another facet of the institute. I'm pretty sure they have a geo-dept.
Regarding IIT-Ro, is it possible to get data from there itself?
Ummm... yes, "preferred IIT" may be considered subjective. How about looking at it from another angle: Which of the 7 IITs are first filled to its maximum capacity? Do you have access to such data? I'm looking at it on the lines of IIM-A.
In response to your query, I'm a kind(ish) soul, so one vandalism warning should be enough! I understand that warnings should be on talk pages, however I was watching TV and Battlefield 2ing at the same time. I've learned from my mistakes :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HawkerTyphoon (talk • contribs) .
That's okay. WP:AGF is one thing and WP:VAN is totally different. Hence, we should not be encouraging vandals and at the same time taking caution not to mistake genuine editors. In the case concerned the user has made deliberate vandalism and should not be takebn lightly. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 14:39, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Bangladesh FAC
Hi Ambuj, thanks for pointing out the errors. I've fixed them, changed the font sizes, and added the indicText template. Could you take a look and comment in the FAC again? Thanks. --Ragib17:50, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Ambuj, thanks for your detailed evaluation of the article. You were meticulously thorough, and noticed the minute details there. This really helped a lot in improving them. And thanks for the suggestion about "user bn". Many words sound awkward when translated to Bangla, but we need to do so rather than transliterate the English word exactly. But again, thanks for bringing that up. Hope you are doing fine in IIT. --Ragib19:53, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the "thanks". Anyway, if you want my views on any PR or FAC, do drop me a line. I will do my best to improve the article. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 06:04, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for supporting me in my RfA. I really didn't think people appreciate my work here that much, but it's nice to see you do: my Request was closed with 66 supports and 4 opposes. I'll do my best not to turn your confidence down. If in any point in the future you get the feeling I'm doing something wrong, do not hesitate to drop me a line. --Dijxtra12:00, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
si erat sic omnium
I believe it means "if only all were thus" (ie I wish all country articles were as good as the Bangladesh one). I have not done Latin seriously for five years now, but that was one of the few things I remember. Hope that helps! Batmanand | Talk21:33, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, we haven't met, so thanks very much for dropping in my ad hoc RFC.
Great feedback- But it's still only an egg. The whole idea just came out of the blue when I couldn't find a reference to the title. My search techniques need upgrading, as another managed better. ;( For an engineer, my web skills are pretty darn poor as I've never been all that interested in browsing— I'd rather read a good history tomb or biography than face the same keyboard that chains me to my chair day in and day out. Then came WikiP, and I, as an old relic, well I've got to update or forget it!
Still, the reaction mirrors the reservations I had which is why I called the meeting, and many of the ideas are beyond my expectations (You missed many of those with an early post).
Your technical points are well taken and appreciated, but just cutting in the chronology and making some of those events present better (with background) took a couple of days of heavy edits, and I've got other irons in the fire. Most of them have suffered for this trial, and in truth had a higher priority to begin with, but once I started a page, however hastily, it was either carry on with some initial effort, or ask for a speedy delete. I need to think more of these brainstorms outside the heat of an series of related edits. Those redlinks just call to be filled in... and I guess I'm too stubborn to ignore the need as well. Well, that's what the sandbox is for, I guess. I just need to start there first!
On the whole, I wasn't sure how to procede as the concept was to create a sense of what people who heard it that night experienced as it shocked the country into awareness of the dangers. Even with the great ideas thereon now, I'm not sure how to make that encyclopedaic, as it necessarily involves both historical narrative (perspective) and emotionalism— more a literary tool, than one of education per se — this draft version at least can't be attacked as POV, whereas a more textual treatment will have to walk a fine line. As one respondant suggested, beefing it up with a lot of researched cited quotes by others would appear to be the way to go wrt the speech itself and the reaction it had afterwards.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure still how to handle the beginning 'era', for that's the educational value I want to present and envisioned as well— the trick is how to pull it off within guidelines. I could do an essay, but that wouldn't be encyclopedic. That's the rub.
But you were kind enough to take the time and I've not worked with you as I have with most of the others [so far] commenting and as I'm pretty much the sole editor(s) <G> at this juncture, I wanted you to know your time was appreciated.
I wanted diverse reactions for many reasons, esp. because I wasn't happy myself with the presentation as the ideal 'concept' and the technique (as it was set forth) diverged as the (ever growing) length impacted what I felt as a gestalt from the first in my own crystalized knowledge of the era when I reread that text the first time Tuesday or Wednesday night... i.e. before creating a page at all.
I think I'll have it moved off to a user page until I get an even larger project cleared up, but that should wait until next weekend or so to give the other invitees and drop-ins a crack at it.
Just wanted to add that I wasn't aware that you'd been editing in the article, at all or so extensively until a short while ago. How's the Intro stub read now? Thanks for the assists.
I've asked the 'quorum' for feedback on the chronology presentation, which I suspect will endup as sub-pages. That might be good, as a WW-II focused sub-page could then be linked into many an article. I've also asked about the whitespace compressed form you did (I think) in one section (1939, iirc) or whether the spaced out version is easier to read. I've also learned tonight that different skins (I'm working in my third tonight) really make a difference on how things look. That's a valuable thing to know. I already routinely zoom in and zoom out to check for 'good vs. best' picture and table placement concerns, but this adds a whole new thing to check for appearance!
I agree with you. Why don't you raise it on the talk of the main page? I apologize, but I don't have much time to follow through this issue. Regards, =Nichalp«Talk»=07:34, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi Ambuj. I see that you are attempting a wikibreak. I assume it is for the exams. All the best. It is really hard to stay away from here. - Aksi_great (talk) 09:02, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes it is. If you see my contributions, my activity has hardly gone down even after my plans to go on Wikibreak. But anyway, soon I will be gone (really), and would not be back before 28th April (last exam), though full activity will resume only after 9th May (project viva). -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 10:20, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah thanks for pointing that out, I've done it the proper way since March, when I've quoted the category on the talk pages that I've used, but I haven't been bothered to fix up that part of my userpage yet. All the best on your exams!! Regards, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!!07:08, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Re:Requests
Hi Jose, remember me. I wanted to ask for a favour. Could you please translate Indian Institutes of Technology article to Chinese and/or other languages you know in their respective Wikipedia. Even stub article with the lead would do. Most of the images are in commons so you should not have any problem is using them. Thanks in advance. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 14:48, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi Ambuj - thanks for the audio on Jinnah. I referred to you as "uncle" as a form of endearment - like "Kaalu Mama." Usually like to do that. Cheers, Rama's Arrow18:46, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. But I realised we need more attention on Hindi wikipedia. Even Hemanshu is a sysop and a bureaucrat there but he did not contribute after August, 2005 on any of the page. For a bureaucrat,he should at least check his talk page in 10 days. The problem is that I want to make template in the format of {{Infobox_Country}}. I have copy pasted all the codes from this template but it did not take same shape. Could you help me out in this. Could you tell me where RfA does go for Hindi pages. Could you provide a link to english wikipedia's RfA page for the same so that anybody can access Hindi wikipedia RfA page. Thank you, Shyam(T/C)00:29, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
This is the major problem with hindi wikipedia. Even sysops and bureaucrat are inactive there. Should we make a request at commons for this or contact steward/developer of english wikipedia to make other bureaucrats as present one is inactive. We will do it as your examination ends, study for now. By the way I have also the last exam tommorow, then I am free for editing wikipedia. All the best for your examination. Shyam(T/C)08:07, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi! Well, Nichalp has pointed out that perhaps Black Hole is not that mush an important incident in the larger context. He has just removed it. He is much more experienced than we are in this regard. Let's be it as it is now. If somebody points it out, we will reinsert the info.--Dwaipayanc08:22, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Now I need your help for the audio. The name (both "Kolkata" and "Calcutta") should be there in audio format. I have a microphone, but do not have any idea regarding this .ogg format. Is it easy? I mean how to record? Which software?
Another help needed. Regarding IPA pronounciation. I do not have the slightest of idea how to use those peculiar looking notations. Can you halp, please? Thanks--Dwaipayanc11:10, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
The "Kolkata" pronounciation is absolutley perfect, while "Calcutta" is in South Asian accent. I found out in the info of that file that you have indicated the accent as Indian subcontinent. So, I have just one thing to say, THANK YOU. Couldn't have been better! Bye.--Dwaipayanc11:59, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
I feel nice now
Yes Ambuj, I really feel nice now - so many friends and so many things to do. I saw your message on this page about me, and was about to notify my welfare to you. Thanks. May God Bless you! --Bhadani10:56, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Audio request
Hi Ambuj, thanks for helping out with the audio requests for Kolkata. Can you create a similar audio file for Bangalore? The article is due to appear on the Main Page on May 2. Thanks and I promise I will not resort to calling you uncle ;) AreJay18:41, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi Ambuj, wow thanks ever so much for the quick response and for creating those two audio files. The English pronounciation is perfect, but can we modify the Kannada pronounciation a little bit? It's a little hard to explain, so I'll break it down by syllable. Bangalore in Kannada is transliterated as Bengaluru. The first syllable, Benga sounds exactly like it is written. The "e" in Benga should sound like the "e" in "bet". The last syllable "luru" should be pronounced "looroo". Would it be possible for you to make those modifications, when you get a chance? Thanks a lot! AreJay03:38, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
I know the Hindi wikipedia is in a bad shape. I tried editing once or twice there. It was so bad that once I had to correct the interwikilink for Russia labelled oddly as stub to roos!
Coming back to the state of affairs: Hemanshu has been inactive for quite a while now (He is one of the earliest Indian admins on en: ). I guess he must have caught up with work and studies. The next course of action would be to list the top 5-10 contributors on hi: and and ask a m:steward (user:Angela is pretty helpful) to promote them as admins since the local b'crat is inactive. The admins can also choose one or two of them to be a b'crat. Hope this is an acceptable solution. Regards, =Nichalp«Talk»=18:33, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for voting on my RfA
Thanks so much for voting!
Thanks so much for voting on my request for adminship. I have decided to withdraw my nomination as it seems that consensus will not be reached. If you voted in support, thanks for putting your trust in me to be a good admin. If you voted in opposition, thank you as well for your criticism as it will only help me be a better Wikipedian and perhaps help if/when I apply for adminship again sometime in the future.
Hi. Thanks for pasting the templates on all the Saffron articles. I noticed on the Kolkata FAC page that you know how to do audio files. Could you do one for Rabindranath Tagore? I have no clue about how to pronounce his name. If I can help you out in any way, let me know. Thanks. Saravask20:02, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, among the cities it looks like Delhi will be up for WP:INCOTW soon, following which we can look to push that for FAC. There's an excellent team of editors working on articles — Rama's Arrow has been working on Vallabhbhai Patel for a while...I don't have any specific suggestions other than the hope that we keep up this momentum. As someone who contributes to other non-India related articles as well, I find it very comforting to have such a strong India-related support base when I am looking to work on India-specific articles and the quality of Indian editors here is something to really be proud of. As you say, 2 of 4 FAs added this time were India specific...this really is a testiment to the depth of our combined talent pool. AreJay19:34, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I think we should make a try for the topic "Metropolitan cities of India" to become a featured topic. Only Delhi is remaining to be an FA.--Dwaipayanc20:10, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
There seems to be confusion about which cities to include as metros. We could try to get Mega cities of India as featured. It is an official term used by the government. Currently 7 cities are mega-cities - New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad [2]. New Delhi should be FA soon. Hyderabad has already gone through INCOTW, so that should not be much problem too. Ahmedabad has undergone a major overhaul and just needs a few days work to make it FA (I will do that as soon as my exams are over). - Aksi_great (talk) 06:48, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
This is about the edit you made by deleting reference to UK from anti-climb paint. I know that prima facie it looks biased and POV, but I have found that its true. I came to this conclusion by extensive searching the web (using Google). I encourage you to confirm it yourself. I will leave the decision to reinstate it or not to you ask ask you to do only if you are 100% convinced. I did it because I was. A quick google search would confirm this. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 10:34, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
I just thought that the London reference didn't represent a global viewpoint. Also, it didn't ring true, as there's a lot of anti-climb paint here oop north. boffy_b13:32, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
This time a larger request. After the article Kolkata stabilises (which should take some more days) , and your "short wiki break" ends, can you please render the audio version of the article? I think it's a demanding request. But you do not have to do it now. Will contact later.BTW, when are you planning to push IIT for FAC? After the break, I guess.--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:02, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes. Wait for Nichalp's green signal. He transformed Kolkata like a magician. And no hurry for the audio as well. Meanwhile, Delhi will be improved. You correctly pointed out that all articles need not be FA to have a Featured topic. Bye.--Dwaipayan (talk) 07:59, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
RE:Please don't go
While I would love to stay and help my friends on Wikipedia, I can't. I thank you for admiring my contributions. It makes me happy that I could serve Wikipedia and make others happy as well. I may return one day, but as I see it, my future on Wikipedia looks bleak. Thank you new friend, Cheers! -- Moeε16:24, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Patel, IIT
Hi - I greatly appreciate your taking time to give advice on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I've resolved the lead pic issue. I need to take a one-day Wikibreak, but I'll begin my final assault on the article on May 2nd, and send it to FAC on May 3rd. Sorry for the fresh delay, but I need this break. Please lemme know if you find any further issues in the article. Btw, when do you plan to send your own great work, the IITs to FAC? Rama's Arrow00:12, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Will it be possible for you to do a voice pronunciation for Patel's name, like you did for Jinnah? Please lemme know. Rama's Arrow00:13, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
First of all thanks for editing the NIT raipur page and replying.
I am a bit perplxed at the thought that how could u know that so and so page has been created and needs editing and again, as wikipedia is a open source encyclopedia then what is the concept of wikipeople.
Yes, Ambuj. You have certainly done very good work - and I know it is just the beginning. The Project shall see much more from you over a period of time. This is just a small recognition for all your efforts. Please continue the good work. By the way, I also try to take wiki-break, but I simply fail to do so. Life here is really exciting and full of challenges. --Bhadani09:31, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi! The template for Portal:India/Selected article removal candidates was not made, and I tried to make it. However, the result Template:Pisarc is not ok. It is not functioning perfectly as can be seen in the talk pages where this has been put, for example, Talk:Raja Ravi Varma and Talk:Cheese. See that the template shows the name of the article once again at the end! I have already contacted Nichalp (talk·contribs) in this regard. You can also help to resolve this technical matter.
Many articles in Portal:India/Selected articles deserve to be delisted as they are either not india related or do not meet the criteria. It seems from the list as if many articles were NOT chosen by going through the prescribed procedure, rather chosen somewhat indiscriminately. Please see. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:59, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Darjeeling
Hi! Could you please have a quick look of Darjeeling? Please give your suggestions in the article's talk page. This is for an internal review before moving to peer review. Thanks. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:06, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
New friend
Hi Ambuj! How is your exams going? Here is a new IITian in Wikipedia , soumik. He happens to be my old friend. Hope he would soon become an asset to Wikipedia like you.--Dwaipayan (talk) 09:27, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!

I have tried to expand the paragraph about political parties by giving the seat details in both the Assembly and the Municipality. The problem is that there are only 2 parties today in Ahmedabad politics (only 1 as things are going on currently). Is that enough, or is more expansion needed? - Aksi_great (talk) 18:51, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
