MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC) Cut-and-paste move of Ali Hashemi (weightlifter)I see that you have already been warned, but let me do it again since it was apparently not clear. You have copied the article from Ali Hashemi to Ali Hashemi (Weightlifter) and created a disambig article at Ali Hashemi. The problem with that is that the editing history of the article was lost, which is technically speaking a copyright violation. Another, minor, problem is that weightlifter should not have been capitalized. I solved both by moving the old version to Ali Hashemi to Ali Hashemi (weightlifter), and redirecting Ali Hashemi (weightlifter). Now you can create a disambig at Ali Hashemi. Note however that all the links from the articles related to the weightlifter now go to Ali Hashemi, and they must be fixed before the disambig has been created.--Ymblanter (talk) 10:36, 29 December 2018 (UTC) @Ymblanter: firstly I appreciate your consideration/edition; secondly I was wondering if you meant that I currently can create a disambig in this page (by removing all of its current content, and add the disambig instead?)? "View History" of Dhakir@Ymblanter:, Would you please tell me that: how can I clean the extra history of Dhakir? I mean: I created a text (as a page) in my sandbox by the name/topic of "Dhakir", then I pasted it in the page which was the redirect of "Dhakir" to "Dhikr". Currently, the problem is that: when I refer to the "view history" of the new independent created page of Dhakir, then the activities of the "view history" of the previous/another page (Dhikr) can be seen -- as well as Dhakir's history), would you kindly fix it? P.S.: then, an user changed it, and wrote: "redirect target is both older and better developed. RV to redirect". So, I don't exactly know what I should do now to revert it. This means you're using a really bad source, so bad that it was WP:deprecated. If you ever see that, I think you should self-revert. This edit was in the sandbox so its ok, but make sure to not move that to an article. In this case the bad source you're using is globaltimes.cn. If you do ctrl+f at WP:RSP you will see it is deprecated. Please note that just because you don't see the tag doesn't mean the source is reliable. Most unreliable sources will not give you that tag. I have reverted one of them for duplicate content, see full reasoning here, and will note that 2 more of these need to reverted as well due to the following reasons:
Per the WP:1RR policy listed as a notice on the edit pane, no more than 1 revert can be made in a 24 hour period. There are exceptions including: "Considerable leeway is also given to editors reverting to maintain the quality of a featured article while it appears on the Main Page." Although this is not a featured article, a link to it does appear on the main page. This quote implies that the significance of an article appearing on the main page raises the need for potential reverts. As such I will revert your recent edits due to incorrect dates and duplicated information in wrong location. CategorizationWhen adding categories to articles please keep WP:CATPOV in mind; For example, if something cannot be stated in Wikivoice (for example, if we cannot call a politician a criminal in Wikivoice) then we cannot categorize them as a criminal. Good luck.Ali Ahwazi (talk) 08:20, 17 June 2024 (UTC) July 2024Your addition to Opium in Iran has been removed or altered, as it appears to closely paraphrase a copyrighted source. Limited close paraphrasing or quotation is appropriate within reason, so long as the material is clearly attributed in the text. However, longer paraphrases, especially if they are not attributed to their source, may constitute copyright violation or plagiarism, and are not acceptable on Wikipedia. Such content cannot be hosted here for legal reasons; please do not post it on any page, even if you plan to fix it later. You may use external websites or printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. If you own the copyright to the text, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the copyright but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 21:32, 7 July 2024 (UTC) CategorizationI noticed that you have been adding categories to several articles related to Iranian military UAVs. Many of the categories you have added are parent categories of of the subcategories already present in the articles (for example, Category:Unmanned military aircraft of Iran is a subcategory of Category:Unmanned military aircraft (via Category:Unmanned military aircraft by country), which itself is a subcategory of Category:Unmanned aerial vehicles. Per WP:PARENTCAT, "an article should be categorised under the most specific branch in the category tree possible, without duplication in parent categories above it." This is primarily to avoid overcategorization. - ZLEA T\C 08:58, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

Ali Ahwazi (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: Hello. I was asked to answer these 5 questions, then I answered them as follows. (Meanwhile, you can read my request reasons in here [4]) What is copyright? In short, copyright is considered a right that is given to the holder/maker of a creative-work in order to prevent other individuals from taking copy of it. On the other hand, a creative-work can be consisted of a book, a phrase, a picture, and so on. Additionally, buildings built on/after 1, 12, 1990 can be eligible for the purpose of copyright (of course in the United States). How is Wikipedia licenced? A license actually can act like a contract; it allows to copy a work solely in accordance with the terms set by the copyright holder or in cases where other exceptions to copyright law are applicable. In fact, Wikipedia's contents are copyrighted in an automatic form, (and are under the Berne Convention); it is also licensed in a formal form to the public under one/several free licenses. The majority of the texts/images of Wikipedia are considered to be co-licensed under the following license: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA) and GFDL (unversioned, without any front-cover contents, invariant sections, or even back-cover contents) … and so on. Actually, we can say that Wikipedia articles are all free content and their texts are covered by the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and in most cases the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Having copyrighted content on Wikipedia without permission leads to the violation of others rights and it is against law. On the other hand, having free content on Wikipedia facilitates the use of contents by readers around the world. This is a free encylopedia. Wikipedia typically requires permission in order to utilize copyrighted materials. In short, Because Wikipedia intend to protect the right of the copyright holder/maker of a creative-work, in order to prevent others from copying it. Creative works are protected by copyright under international agreement, unless they are in the public domain or the copyright is explicitly disclaimed. In most cases, Wikipedia requires permission in order to utilize copyrighted materials. Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? In some cases we can have fair use. Fair use is considered a principle which is based on the legislations (of the U.S.A) that gives the permission for the restricted utilization of the copyright content; and on the other hand, it doesn’t need to get authorization from the owner of copyright. Fair use is as a limitation to copyright laws which aims to make a balance between the rights of copyright holders and the public's interest in having access and usage of copyrighted content. It provides a defense against copyright infringement claims for specific limited uses that would otherwise be considered as violation." The right of fair use can be named as a broad exemption which is applicable to various uses of all forms of creative works. Typically, the fair use doctrine in the United States is more expansive compared to the fair dealing rights found in many countries across the world that are following English Common Law. In the U.S.A. the fair use right or/and fair use exception are considered to be in accordance with a flexible proportionality test that in fact evaluates the use goal, the amount used, and also the impact on the original work market. How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? If we are going to apply a copyrighted text/content, at the first step, we have to make sure to rephrase/reword the mentioned text so the degree of similarity is decreased to the point that our text or content could be taken as a new work. Of note, In cases we want to utilize a material which is free, I have to credit the copyright owner or holder, and also the source (the mentioned matter is depended upon the license as I figured it out). On the other hand, it should be noted that, in cases we intend to apply a photo, it ought to be released under an accepted license in Wikimedia projects such as the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licenses that in fact match with the restrictions/limitations in the project. At the time that we have a doubt(s) (in all cases), it is good to ask for helping from related admins or even update ourselves by going to related pages. Ali Ahwazi (talk) 09:59, 18 July 2024 (UTC) Decline reason: I don't believe that it's in Wikipedia's best interest to unblock you while other editors have to spend their volunteer time extensively reviewing your edits at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20240708. I understand that it's frustrating to hear and it is hard to tell editors who want to edit that they can't, but copyright is a really big deal and being the subject of a current, massive CCI is pretty much an automatic decline for me.
