User talk:Aaronw1109/Archive 1
Hi, I'm Redditaddict69. This is my first talk archive, which has not been in use since October 8, 2018. I start new archives after reaching 60-70k bytes (this one was cut off at 63.9k). You can tell by looking through these archives just how new of a user I was; clearly, since then, I've made my way over the learning curve! :) Hello, I wanted to let you know that I moved your newly created page to Noah Purcell. I highly recommend you read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons in order to understand Wikipedia's standards in regards to writing about living persons. If I can be of any help, let me know. —Non-Dropframe talk 22:48, 24 February 2017 (UTC) The article Noah Purcell has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. MereTechnicality ⚙ 22:50, 24 February 2017 (UTC) Your contributed article, Judge James Robart
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Judge James Robart. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – James Robart. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at James Robart – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page. If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Solar eclipse of September 14, 2099, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Eau Claire, Fargo and Kitty Hawk (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Soft drink, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Boats Against the Current (book) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. A tag has been placed on Richard Webb (author) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jane Raybould until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:56, 10 July 2018 (UTC) I've reverted your addition here a couple times and I wanted to explain why. First off, I'm not trying to pick on you nor am I in any way "dissing" Kilwins chocolate. It's one of the things I miss most about Michigan. However, before you can add a section on corporations based in Petoskey, you need a source discussing corporations based in Petoskey. All you are proffering are sources connected to Kilwins, a chamber of commerce listing for Kilwins, and "some website.com" reviewing Kilwins. You've not shown why it's important to know about this in order to understand the subject of the article, which is the city. Since you haven't shown that, the addition comes off much more as either guidebook or promotional material, and both of those kinds of content are barred by the pillar policy WP:NOT. What would work would be a wide circulation publication discussing the importance of the company to the city; a discussion of largest employers that included them (if applicable) sourced to a government source, or a discussion of tourist oriented businesses, of which Petoskey has many, sourced to the chamber of commerce or the state tourism website. I cannot see a scenario where one non-notable business would merit a section of its own. A procedural thing, too. You're new and we're glad you are here, but please understand that your edits here will be peer reviewed, and sometimes reverted. Trust me it will happen again. I've been at this almost 7 years now, and some of mine still do. Always, the best way to handle it is to engage in discussion rather than just putting it back. The onus for that discussion is on the editor proposing the new content. Generally discussion should be on the article's talk page, but for new guys, it's usually better to just ask on the editor that reverted you's talk page (geez that's some bad English on my part...sorry). For new folks, it's usually a simple misconception that can be cleared up quickly with very little debate. You go to the article talk page when for example you have sources that disagree about a fact and the interested editors must reach a consensus on how much weight to give the varying sources and how to present the disputed fact in the article. The misconception I think we're dealing with here is a Wikipedia article is a place to discuss what you feel is important about the subject; when in fact, it is a place to present what reliable sources have written that is important about the subject. Wikipedia is crazy fun. I'm always glad to help; just ask. I work almost exclusively on US subjects, primarily high schools and communities. I'm retired and live out west, but I'm a Great Lakes guy thru and thru. Til I moved here, I never lived more than 50 miles from one or another of them. Born and raised in suburban Chicago; lived most of my life in Kalamazoo. Hollar if I can help, and happy editing. John from Idegon (talk) 00:25, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

This is being posted on your talk page where you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss issues and respond to questions. At the end of each message you will see a signature left by the editor posting. This is done by signing with four tildes (~~~~) or by pressing or in the editing interface toolbox, located just above the editing window (when editing). You won't need to sign your contributions to articles themselves; you only need to when using talk pages. If you have any questions or face any initial hurdles, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I will do what I can to assist or give you guidance. Again, welcome! Adding references can be easy Hello! Here's how to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain the Wikipedia policy of verifiability. Adding well formatted references is actually quite easy:
You can read more about this on Help:Edit toolbar or see this video File:RefTools.ogv.
comprised ofHi! I noticed that you have replaced "comprised of" in many articles, and just want to say Hi. I do a lot of that edit myself, as I'm sure you know, and I like having company. I occasionally run into article owners who think I'm the only person in the English-speaking world who thinks "comprise" is not the best way to say "compose", and it's helpful for those people to see that other editors think it's worth fixing too. I can see from your contribution history that you're not primarily a copy editor, like me, but you have done a lot of it. How have you been finding the articles to edit? Manual search? AWB? Do you do other Wikignome stuff too? Bryan Henderson (giraffedata) (talk) 17:28, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
You might want to clarify your Too Soon comment. Usually, when people say Too Soon, they're arguing to delete because the subject has not yet demonstrated notability, but I don't think that's what you're trying to say here. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:47, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

Reverse speedy AfD close possible?Hello. I was one of the editors discussing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Irfan Adelbi, which you've speedily closed as the nominator. While it's your prerogative to withdraw your nomination, policy is to only speedy close the AfD if there is clear consensus for keep. I feel more discussion is merited on this topic, and wanted to ask if it would be possible for you to un-close the AfD and relist, even if you wish to withdraw your vote. Thank you!— Alpha3031 (t • c) 12:08, 19 August 2018 (UTC) @Alpha3031: You can always renominate it if you strongly feel that it shouldn't be kept or it should be dealt with some other way. The other editors made good points that any olympian is notable, though WP:GNG may override this. If you do renominate it, I'll be one of the first to discuss it. Just let me know when you do. Your relist of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Appropriation (music)It's not appropriate to both participate in a discussion, and perform administrative actions (such as relisting) in the same discussion. friendly adviceHi, and welcome to the project. I can see that you have dived in with great energy and enthusiasm, and that you are on a steep learning curve. It's OK to WP:BEBOLD, but I hope tha tyou are in the process of slowing down enough to do a more careful job WP:BEFORE bringing longstanding articles to AfD. I can see that you've been cautioned about this before. [1] by User:Bearian, but several of your nominations for deletion and inaccurate, sweeping assertions you have made on articles nominated for others have cost other editors a lot of time and effort. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Robert Kelleher, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lois Combs Weinberg, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sinking (album). You have the potential to be a great editor, but, as here [2], you've got to learn the rules and policies under which we work.E.M.Gregory (talk) 14:02, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

DGG ( talk ) 20:17, 25 September 2018 (UTC) Sebastian Osigwe's deleted Wikipedia pageHi there, I'm Tolu Olasoji a contributor on Wikipedia and an international football journalist based in Nigeria. I created Osigwe’s profile off a red link from Nigeria’s U20 team to the Toulon tournament in 2013 as his profile on SC Kriens is dormant. Earlier in the month, I wrote the few lines and his club history hoping to later include his statistics and more information which were readily available as at the time I did it. I hadn't been chance to coming back to continue and I was sure of curious football readers not getting half information as this profile doesn't show in the first pages of Google SERP. This night, though, It was actually a coincidence when I entered to finish off where I left it to see it got deleted a minute after I logged on. I read all debate on the deletion page and all I noticed there's very little the debaters understood about the goalkeeper. He's a professional goalie with SC Kriens in the second division of the Swiss League, they got promotion at the end of last season and was crucial to that. Also, there's been indications in the past that Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr was willing to invite him. Please, kindly help restore the page so I finish it off as soon as possible. P.S: I can send in a rough brief about him if required Best, Tollexrism (talk) 02:09, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
