Ralbot (talk) 20:46, 10 September 2008 (UTC) North Carolina State CapitolHiya, APK. Been a while. I was just looking over the page for the North Carolina State Capitol and wuz wondering why it is under the "United States Government" stub category. It's a friggin' building after all. And a state one at that. Other than that, the weather here's almost perfect for pictures again. I want to take a new shot of Raleigh's downtown now that the RBC Plaza is topped off and the Raleigh Convention Center is now complete. I also think an entry for the Longview (Poe) House might be good. Got any other requests? Jmturner (talk) 03:34, 21 September 2008 (UTC) National Building Museum main image disputeI reverted the article back to the condition it was in when I added Image 1, below. I believe this better represents the subject than the previous photo that you replaced mine with. I cite the now-inactive but still relevant appropriate illustrations: image purpose policy. Image 1 shows the National Building Museum from the front at a normal angle. It's centered and displays one of the main architectural elements of the building: the large vaulted roof and its tall windows. Image 2 is taken at an odd angle, and shows the side, not the main entrance, as does Image 1. Your reason for replacement was time the photo was taken. While Image 1 is a year or two old, the view has not changed, and IMO the quality and completeness of Image 1 easily trumps your age reference. Note that National building museum3.jpg has also been used. It is identical to Image 2 and was used in List of museums in Washington, D.C. which I also reverted to use Image 1. I am not just trying to get my photo back up; I am fully happy with somebody replacing this with something of higher quailty. I feel Image 2 does not better represent the subject at hand. Please reply on my talk page should you feel the need to. ~ Wadester16 (talk) 23:50, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

This way what we did accomplish is available to everyone, and others can add to it if they like. I appreciated that, and haven't seen you around. I hope all is well. Thanks again and enjoy your holidays. Best, MarmadukePercy (talk) 04:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
*lights dim low...walks onstage...waves dramatically*Hey girl hey. After a long-ass break, and like Jesus and the coming Rapture, I'm back. Feel free to send me an e-mail if you want to know what's been going on in my strange world. I don't use the old address anymore, but I've already updated my e-mail feature. I had a love affair with flickr the past several months, so I blame that site for my absence. I have a list of 500ish articles/stubs that need writing, so like Amy Winehouse, I'm gonna get crackin. Arms akimbo, and with violins playing, Becks does the Happy Dance to welcome APK back to be with his friends. Or maybe you might like this one better. Kick some ass, APK, on those articles. — Becksguy (talk) 22:25, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Edmonson sisters and the PearlHi welcome back - After having been off in the fall, I've been finding new areas of interest since return. The Edmonson sisters make a compelling story, but I agree that there could be a separate article on the Pearl incident. If you structure it along the lines of what the book sounds like, and also with more context on Washington, DC at the time and nearby VA and MD, plus the trial afterward and efforts to account for the people sold South, I think it would be really good. It deserves its own article as the largest attempted escape of slaves at one time, which is another way to distinguish it - and to show the advance planning. One account I read (from the article) said that a failed suitor of one of the Edmonson sisters was said to have alerted authorities, who sounded an alarm and took off after the ship. It wasn't a chance suspicion by someone on a passing ship.--Parkwells (talk) 12:38, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
One last favor! Thanks APK, I wonder if you know we're neighbors. Really!! Anyway, there is a section in Wikimedia Commons for the Counting Crows. Is there a way I can place the ones for them in that area? Or is that not a possibility? Vickery will have to wait till I get him a page, and Lindley, until there's more text, but the other two might be really helpful especially for people who are writing pages for them in other language Wikipedias? Thanks.. --leahtwosaints (talk) 18:32, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
One day, I shall find you and kiss you on your beautiful forehead! I live right now in MD near the U. of Merry-land.. (HAR! That's a joke).. but once worked at "Food for Thought Restauraunt" - closed 7 years ago, north side of Dupont Circle, and lived really close! (it was cheap then).. and all over NW DC. By the way, I'm finding a few other needed photos. Will you help? Here's Rick Danko with Paul Butterfield both could really use the photos; I wonder if, for one, the photo can be sliced in half? Or does that violate the GFDL? Either way, they are neeeded![1] and Johnny Winter, [2] and Stephen Stills, [3] Canned Heat, [4], John Sebastian, [5], The Jealous Girlfriends, [6], Once I learn how to upload stuff from Flickr (though I suspect I'd still need an Admin or someone else to check that I broke no copyright) I'll be glad to do it. But I really appreciate your help. It really bugs me to work on articles with no photo; almost looks like I never get anything accomplished! --leahtwosaints (talk) 02:11, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, whatcha gonna do during the inagura-- I mean frustration? Darn near every road, bike path, whatEVER will be shut down. I gotta make it to GW University from College Park every AM and I am not going anywhere near it! Not till Thursday, thank goodness! Oh, last thing, thanks for moving the Counting Crows to their category in the Commons. But David Lindley is still with them there, and I've no clue how to move him, or even where! I need a tutor, I swear, with the media stuff especially. Help, kind sir! After this time, I'll ask Aleta or whoever to sic me on somebody else if you want.--leahtwosaints (talk) 21:12, 14 January 2009 (UTC) CCT picI'll wait for a sunny day and take one of my own, something a little more rustic (like your original, just moved over a bit). The Dalecarlia Tunnel is nice. JohnInDC (talk) 12:58, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Alternative help?Hey APK, I know you got a life and are busy too.. but Aleta doesn't know how to upload any photos- she's never done it, period. Can you please, please recommend someone who may help me out? Most of the 10 pics I have waiting with permissions, GFDL, ect are for really prominent musicians who have no photos on most pages. They include Rick Danko, and others.. please respond, or best yet, help me find someone who would help upload them. --leahtwosaints (talk) 21:59, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

I suppose they are better than nothing, but may be of limited use in the future. (2) Could you please instead upload the photos to Wikimedia Commons? Right now, someone will need to go through the trouble of moving your photos there and deleting the ones here, and sorting them over there. If you upload them on Commons, then the German Wikipedia or projects in other languages can use them. Please let me know if you have any questions about Commons. Cheers. --Aude (talk) 16:08, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you have run into rude admins on Commons. But, uploading them to commons will save someone from needing to move them to commons later. If you have trouble with Commons, let me know, and I can try to help. If you upload them here, maybe a bot can move them, but I'm not sure. Your photos certainly are appreciated (and I see a lot of great stuff on your Flickr page). As for low/high resolution, if you can upload the full/large size versions, that would be awesome. The larger versions are suitable if/when Wikipedia content gets reused, such as in a printed format. I see those available on your Flickr page, with the proper licensing. There are some tools (Commons:Tools) for commons that allow batch uploading and uploading directly from Flickr, which might be helpful. --Aude (talk) 19:21, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Dupont Circle articlesThanks for adding a bunch of articles to the Category:Dupont Circle. I've been working on a draft of an article for the Dupont Circle Fountain and would appreciate any suggestions before I move the article out of my sandbox. -- Autopilot (talk) 02:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Nice to see you back (yes I know I'm a little behind)Don't go away again, Wikipedia is dull without you. Oh and I'm loving the random Britney Spears quotes in your username. I'm current guardian of all things Britney related it seems...crazy fanboys. I'm beginning to think Britney fans are more obsessed than us Jacko fans. ;D For the record, yes I did buy her album...for Wikipedia research only...obviously... :O — Realist2 04:58, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

A tip-- where are there are different versions availible, such as is often the case on Library of Congress images, please upload the largest/highest resolution when possible. Thanks! Miner Teachers CollegeVery cool that you took and uploaded the picture of Miner Teachers College for the Normal School for Colored Girls article. Now I have an appropriate pic to add to my DYK gallery...um which no one sees anyway...but I know it's there. Thanks and best wishes. - --Boston (talk) 10:12, 6 February 2009 (UTC) -- P.S. GULC images on CommonsJust to nitpick, if the Judiciary Square neighborhood stops at I-395, then the Georgetown University Law Center campus would not be included, as it's on the other side of I-395. That's all. Cheers, Postdlf (talk) 20:29, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
