Thouinia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Sapindaceae.[1] Distribution and habitatThey are native to Mexico to Central America (within Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua) and the Caribbean (within Bahamas, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Turks and Caicos Islands).[1] TaxonomyThe genus is named for André Thouin, a French botanist.[2][3] SpeciesAs of 2020[update] Kew's Plants of the World Online lists 27 species in the genus:[1]
