Thomas Krol
Thomas Krol (born 16 August 1992) is a retired Dutch speed skater, who is specialized in the 1000m and 1500m. CareerKrol finished third at the ISU World Cup 1500m event in Berlin in December 2014.[1] Krol is a member of Team Jumbo-Visma. In February 2022, at the Beijing Olympics, Krol won the men's 1000-meter race (1:07.92) and won the first Olympic gold medal of his career.[2] In February 2024, the Dutchman announced his retirement and his intention to enroll in the KLM airline flight school. According to Krol, he had two dreams: to win the Olympics and to become a pilot.[3] Personal records
