It would be really nice if, when people wrote pages, they clicked on the links they included to make sure they went to the right place. This is particularly true for templates, which (because of a bug) only get reparsed in page X when page X is modified. Noel(talk) 19:23, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Oops, I didn't size it for the page... Can we make something which brings the windows logo to mind, yet which is not an actual logo? Like, I can draw a wavy box with the colors red, yellow, green, blue, and that is not their logo. Right? Althepal02:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I drew this myself to look similar to some Microsoft Windows logo, but Microsoft has never made this particular logo, and I release it under a free license. Would it be a better replacement than the crystal clear image, since the color placement is like Windows? Althepal03:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, a healthy debate is good for changing the logo. But, just going out and changing the image to something irrelevant, and potentially inflammatory, is simply childish and counter-productive. For example, I just reverted a change which set the image to a swastika.
My gut feeling is that this template should use the same image as WikiProject Microsoft Windows. But, I'm not going to just go and change it with no discussion... ;)
So, frustrated editors, please think before changing the image. Ensure that it's appropriate and relevant. Using imagery which has direct relation to Microsoft Windows is not helpful to anyone. And, consistency is key. Having one image on the template one day, and another the next, is not very good for the end-users of Wikipedia.
Not sure why it looks like that, but if you view the actual SVG file in Firefox, it looks fine. (what I am talking about is the blue circle in the middle.)
