Racial/ethno-religious bias

It's interesting that this list places a transcontinental country like Russia squarely in "Europe", but excludes other countries that are transcontinental or included in Europe according to some definitions, like Turkey or Caucasus. In fact the notes threaten anyone who question this? ("moving to Europe will lead to blocking of user and IP") I'm sensing a great deal of ethnic and religious bias behind this decision (for example, Russia is a Slavic country populated by Christians and blonde people, therefore we'll ignore the fact that most of Russia is geographically in Asia or make tenuous arguments that most Russians live in Europe or that most of their economy is in Europe and therefore should be included). This is unacceptable. 2600:1700:20:1D80:C843:C0EB:C1F9:3E41 (talk) 22:04, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As it was already said, it is per United Nations geoscheme. FromCzech (talk) 04:26, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
UN statistics division is not a geographic authority and they say these definitions are for "statistical convenience" only, whatever that even means. At least Georgia and Azerbaijan are often deemed transcontinental countries. Also part of Turkey IS indisputably in Europe and there is no confusion over that. Totally excluding them, whatever single source this is based on, is an extreme view that does not belong on any encyclopedia. More impartiality is needed.
It is an objective scheme, used not only here. You have to reach consensus for change, not go through force and just here. FromCzech (talk) 04:51, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is nothing objective about excluding countries that indisputably have territory in Europe. Also statistics and geography are not the same. 2600:1700:20:1D80:7853:5B60:1E0E:C974 (talk) 02:12, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of objectivity, brute forcing your way through edits is not how you should go. As FromCzech mentioned, you should reach consensus first, and by forcing your edits, you're not helping your case. Liliana (UwU) 02:15, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There was a time when this article was neutral on the topic of continents. That's no longer the case, as it now follows a single, biased, very fringe view, which excludes even transcontinental countries from Europe. But only those that certain users dislike. Not an improvement.--2600:1700:20:1D80:7853:5B60:1E0E:C974 (talk) 02:26, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
