When working with London boroughs with in {{Public_housing_in_the_United_Kingdom}}- I run across this arbitary number. A problem as there are 33 boroughs. Why 20? Could this be reprogrammed to allow up to 35? There are also 28 states within the EU- and 50 + administrations within the US. This is pretty high on my wishlist --ClemRutter (talk) 14:19, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
ClemRutter this feature is generally documented in the documentation for template:navbox, but for some reason the documentation there is recommending to use {{navbox subgroup}} instead of {{navbox|subgroup}}. I have started a thread at template talk:navbox to see why there is such a recommendation considering that it's less efficient and has the 20 list/group limitation. I need help with Finnish version of this template
The layout of the Finnish version show the exact same layout as the English version here. The headers are not centered and the font size of those headers is not the same as the title of the template. CAJH (talk) 18:15, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder if there is a way to expand multiple child groups? If not, is adding the function possible? For example adding support for multiple groups in |selected= or adding a parameter called |selected1=Purin128AL (talk) 15:37, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think long term, the goal should be to deprecate this template and merge it into Module:Navbox, since this template is just a wrapper anyway, as it would mean that we would no longer have to maintain separate codebases for changes like this. However, that is a much larger project than these tweaks. --Ahecht (TALK PAGE)00:01, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazamp Part of the problem is that kwwiki version of Module:Navbar is quite different from the one on the English Wikipedia. It works better, but not perfectly, with the version at kw:Module:Navbar/sandbox (which I just copied from the enwiki version). It's likely that there's some other css file somewhere else that's also out of date with the version on enwiki. You might have better luck updating to the most recent consolidated version of Module:Navbox that directly implements Navbox with collapsible groups via {{#invoke:navbox|with collapsible groups}}. --Ahecht (TALK PAGE)15:40, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ahecht: Hi, thanks for having a look! Would updating Module:Navbox risk breaking the templates that currently use it? I don't want to accidentally mess up things that I don't really have the expertise to fix, especially on a wiki that doesn't have many people maintaining it. Gazamp (talk) 18:18, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazamp The new version on enwiki is backwards compatible with all the existing syntax from the old versions on enwiki, but it's possible that there are some customizations on kwwiki that might be incompatible. --Ahecht (TALK PAGE)21:10, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ahecht OK I'll perhaps have a proper go at it when I get time this week. If I get majorly stuck would it be alright to message you on your talk page (rather than clutter up the talk page here)? Thanks again for taking the time to explain things! Gazamp (talk) 18:17, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
