Adding an "Opinion" parameter
I've seen on many SCOTUS pages that they have an "Opinion" parameter and have attached the opinion posted from the SCOTUS website. I think it would be beneficial to have this parameter for the ease of adding the opinion, rather than having to go through making a new parameter. Pacamah (talk) 08:55, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Description of suggested change: According to Category:Pages using infobox US Supreme Court case with unknown parameters, the 'Statement' parameter is classified as unknown, despite the fact that it is defined in the infobox code and is used in multiple articles. This can be fixed by adding the Statement categories to the list of known parameters below.

Description of suggested change: Simple redirect fix: now that John Marshall Harlan (born 1899) has been moved to John Marshall Harlan II, it would be beneficial for this template to incorporate the page move for each court Harlan served on.

Description of suggested change: More cleanup stuff: removing obsolete parameter (SplitOpinion), typo fix ("SubmitDatee" to "SubmitDate"), and fully incorporating the Statement parameter.

Description of suggested change: Turns out I was wrong and the "SplitOpinion" parameter is not obsolete and exists for a reason (for example Goldwater v. Carter, where |SplitOpinion=yes is supposed to shows the "Case opinion" header). Sorry, my mistake.

Completed, and thank you for catching that! This infobox template is transcluded to thousands of pages, so it would be better if you were to add any future edits to the template's [sandbox] making sure that it is first synchronized with the live template. Then the changes can be tested using the [testcases] page – see WP:TESTCASES. P.I. Ellsworth , ed.put'er there22:10, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the three red backgrounds to #B60000 (used for Superseded, Overruled, Abrogated)
Reasoning:
MOS:CONTRAST: "Ensure the contrast of the text with its background reaches at least ... AA level, and AAA level when feasible"
AAA is feasible when choosing template colors, and therefore required in order to meet the guideline
