Shashi, Liuyang
Shashi Town (simplified Chinese: 沙市镇; traditional Chinese: 沙市鎮; pinyin: Shāshì Zhèn) is a rural town in Liuyang City, Hunan Province, People's Republic of China.[1] As of the 2015 census it had a population of 67,700 and an area of 209.7-square-kilometre (81.0 sq mi).[2] It is surrounded by the towns of Gaoqiao and Jinjing on the north, Longfu Town on the northeast, Chunkou Town on the southeast, Lukou Town on the west, and the towns of Beisheng and Yong'an on the south. GeographyThe Laodao River flows through the town. The town has one lake and two reservoirs: Chima Lake (赤马湖; 'Lake of Red Horse'), Jinpen Reservoir (金盆水库; 'Reservoir of Gold Bowl') and Jinfeng Reservoir (金凤水库; 'Reservoir of Gold Phoenix'). Two mountains situated at the town: Mount Huangxiling (黄西岭; 351-metre (1,152 ft)) and Mount Sanjianlin (三尖林; 485-metre (1,591 ft)).
