Peter Mponda
Peter Mponda[1] (born 4 September 1981) is a retired Malawian association footballer. He played as a central defender and was the captain of the Malawi national team.[citation needed] He is currently the head coach for the Nyasa Big Bullets FC in Malawi which plays in the Super League of Malawi, the top league in Malawi's football system. In November 2019, he was appointed coach of the Malawi national under-20 football team.[2] Managerial careerIn the summer of 2023, he returned to his former Black Leopards club as an assistant coach under head coach Alejandra Dorado.[3][4] After several poor results, the club elevated Mponda to the head coach on September 28, 2023.[5] Mponda returned to his native Malawi in January 2024 as the new head coach for the Silver Strikers.[6][7] In his debut season in the nation's capital. he secure the league title for the club.[8] Once the season concluded, he left Silver Strikers.[8][9] After he departed from the Silver Strikers, he was appointed head coach for Nyasa Big Bullets FC on 6 January 2025.[10] Career statisticsInternational goals
