Mratín
Mratín is a municipality and village in Prague-East District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,500 inhabitants. EtymologyThe name is derived from the personal name Mrata, meaning "Mrata's (court)".[2] GeographyMratín is located about 11 kilometres (7 mi) north of Prague. It lies in a flat agricultural landscape of the Central Elbe Table. The highest point is at 206 metres (676 ft) above sea level. The stream Mratínský potok flows through the municipality. A set of three fishponds is located south of the village. HistoryThe first written mention of Mratín is from 1372.[3] Demographics
TransportThere are no railways or major roads passing through the municipality. SightsThe main landmark of Mratín is the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel. It was built in the Baroque style in the first half of the 18th century.[6] A historical monument is the small Baroque castle from the end of the 18th century. It has a Neoclassical façade.
