Maya Tandon
Maya Tandon (Hindi: माया टंडन; born 1936) is an Indian anesthesiologist and road safety activist from Rajasthan. She's awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian honour. Early life and educationTandon completed her schooling from Sophia School in Ajmer and later studied from the Sawai Man Singh Medical College in Jaipur.[1] CareerTandon is a retired Superintendent of JK Lawn Hospital in Jaipur.[2] After her retirement as an anesthesiologist, she has been working for road safety awareness for more than 30 years through her organisation 'Sahayata Trust'. She has provided free of cost training to more than 1 lakh people in road safety, CPR, accident response, and emergency protocols.[1][3] In 2024, she was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian honour for her social work.[1][4] Personal lifeTandon met her husband while doing an internship in Ajmer, and decided to get married and move to Jaipur.
