Mark Fletcher Jr. (born October 17, 2004)[ 1] is an American football running back for the Miami Hurricanes .
High school career
Fletcher attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida . As a senior, he rushed for 1,934 yards and 23 touchdowns.[ 2] Fletcher originally committed to Ohio State ,[ 3] before decommitting during his senior year.[ 4] A four-star recruit, he committed to play college football at the University of Miami over an offer from Florida .[ 5] [ 6]
College career
Fletcher earned immediate playing time as a freshman, rushing for the game-winning touchdown in overtime against Virginia .[ 7] Against NC State , he rushed for a then career-high 115 yards in a 20–6 loss.[ 8] In the 2023 Pinstripe Bowl , Fletcher suffered a Lisfranc injury , being carted off the field.[ 9] [ 10] He finished his freshman season rushing for 514 yards and five touchdowns.[ 11] Fletcher returned from his injury, rushing for two touchdowns in the 2024 season opener against Florida.[ 12] Against Florida State , he rushed for 71 yards and touchdown.[ 13] [ 14]
