Mar Coll
Mar Coll (born 1981) is a Spanish film director best known for the films Three Days With the Family and We All Want What's Best for Her.[1] Early life and educationColl was born in Barcelona. She studied filmmaking at the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia[2] CareerColl's first feature, the 2009 ensemble drama Three Days With the Family, premiered at the Málaga Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Actor.[3] The following year, Coll won the Goya Award for Best New Director and the Gaudí Award for Best Director for the film.[1] In 2013, Coll's film We All Want What's Best for Her, starring Nora Navas as an unsatisfied housewife, debuted at the Valladolid International Film Festival.[4] Coll directed the 2018 limited series Killing the Father, followed by the series Això no és Suècia in 2023.[1] Salve Maria, Coll's 2024 adaptation of the Katixa Agirre novel Mothers Don't, premiered at the 77th Locarno Film Festival.[5] and received a Special Mention in the category Best Performance in the international competition.[6] FilmographyFilm
