Manzur Hasan Mintu
Manzur Hasan Mintu (7 April 1940 – 18 November 2014)[2] was a Bangladeshi footballer who played as a goalkeeper.[3] He worked for radio and television as a sports commentator for 40 years since 1973.[2] He was awarded National Sports Award for football and badminton by the Government of Bangladesh in 1978.[1] Club careerMintu began playing in the Dhaka Second Division Football League with Kamal Sporting Club in 1953. He captained Dhaka Wanderers Club to the 1960 First Division League title.[4] International careerMintu played for the Pakistan national football team in the 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo.[1] He represented East Pakistan in the National Football Championship from 1957 to 1959 and later played for Dhaka Division from 1961 to 1963.[5] Personal lifeMintu graduated from the University of Dhaka and worked as an income tax commissioner. After the retirement, he served as the treasurer of the national sports council.[1] DeathMintu died on 18 November 2014, after suffering a cardiac arrest in Jaipur, India.[4] HonoursDhaka Wanderers Club
